I can't believe I'm considering a $185 bra. I know there have been lots of bra threads here and I really would like to just talk about this specific bra.
I am able to get a 15% discount.. so that makes it a $160ish bra.
Is it worth it? Or has the marketing weighed me down? I'm a very active person- gym, walking, hiking etc and I am DD. Last year, I was really struggling with nerve pain and even numbness and tingling in one arm. I have shoulder dips etc. I am uncomfortable without a bra- I even wear one to sleep. Underwire doesn't bother me a bit.
To address the shoulder/arm pain/tingling/numbness, I quit wearing my usual bras- I hate uniboob and only wear sports bras for sports or chilling around the house. But, I went to the wide strap granny bras to (hopefully) address what I thought might have been related to the thinner strap/doing the hard work cute bras. It worked. The tingling and numbness has gone away completely.
But- I hate my bras. I hate the way they look under my clothes and it (along with the Forme TSwift marketing campaign) made me really think about my posture and the effects of being my age with a large bust. My posture could be better, and I could have less back stiffness and (very) minor pain.
So, I put a Forme Power Bra in the cart. Made peace with the price. THEN shipping is $15??? What? And the shipping made me pause and post this thread. Geeze.
Should I just pay the shipping and order the darn bra?

For $185 that bra had better be the best damn bra in the universe, especially w/$15 shipping. Have you read reviews on other websites? What is their return policy? If the return policy is generous then you could try it, but you'll want more than one bra and it's an investment. Still comfort and support are key.

I've read a million reviews on their site and on social media... and everyone seems to love it. I can't help but be a little put off by their HUGE marketing campaign right now though... I have to admit, I've never once returned a clothing item I've ordered online- I tend to gift them... But I don't really know anyone closely enough to gift a bra of this size lol It just seems... insulting(?) to pay this much for a single bra... THEN pay $15 to ship it. A literal bra. That will likely come in a plastic envelope.

You wear a bra every single day - I think a high price for a good one is completely worth it. I’d try it out and return if it isn’t good.

It’s been all over my SM. I have shoulder issues and I know my posture isn’t great. My shoulders always inch up toward my ears. The last time I was in PT for my shoulder, the therapist said my traps were like “bricks”.
So I definitely need something for posture; to help me keep my shoulders down and back.
I about choked at the price, but it is less than I’ve paid for PT, chiropractic adjustments, and meds.

It looks like it would be impossible to get out of when sweaty.

It looks like it would be impossible to get out of when sweaty. You're not wrong lol I had that same thought. My favorite sports bras have a clip in the front, then a reinforcing zipper thingy. If one fails, the other is still in place.. no one gets hurt! A friend of mine (the funny meme king) posted something on social media recently that made me laugh. It said "if you put your bra on backwards and spin it around you're a cougar." LOL I didn't think there was any other way to do it! Then people were saying they pull it on over their head... Two weeks later I'm still thinking about that! I mean, if I put it on like a shirt I'm going to get tangled, strangled or stuck. I certainly can't pull it up over my hips...

I haven't done PT... but, changing the bras made such a world of difference, I know it is a huge contributor, if not the root of the problem. The tingling and random numbness while sitting still (was fine when I was active and moving) was terrifying. I did read one reviewer that said she was able to get her doctor to write a prescription for it and it was covered by her insurance? I have a few months til my next appointment, but I'm going to tuck that away. Also, there is a form to fill out to allow it to be purchased with HSA funds.. I didn't look super close at it- so I don't know what is required... but maybe it makes that crazy price more palatable with pre tax dollars. I really do think that bras are so important to women's posture and quality of life. Every woman in my family struggled with serious posture issues later in life and it added to mobility issues. I thought I was immune due to my lifestyle/activity level choices... but nope... the boulders are gonna have a say one way or the other.

Then people were saying they pull it on over their head...
Not to derail this thread but a few years ago when I was thinking about working out, I tried on a gym-type bra in one of those expensive shops (but not $185 expensive).
It was one that you put on/off over your head, no snaps, only way to get out of it.
I've got a weird shoulder that doesn't move all the way and I was "trapped" with a bra halfway over my head and couldn't get it off or on.
Had to get one of the employees to help get me out of it.
And she said "oh this happens all the time!"

Did you get the Forme bra or is there another one that works similarly?

Yeah, I really only buy the Sweaty Betty Stamina bras these days. They fit well, keep my G-cups in place, and are still stretchy enough that I don't dislocate a shoulder getting out of them. I should add that I don't run or do any very high-impact exercise - I would need something with more support to avoid putting an eye out. I can manage a slow jog in my Sweaty Betties though.
