It's really not all that weird but want to see if you can see what really jarred me in one picture. It's 1.1 million in Seattle which means it probably needs some work. Not too bad... but that one pic! Thoughts? Seattle HouseMary K

First of all, I'm sorry I live in a world where this is now a million dollar home.
Second of all, I didn't see anything "weird" other than there is a washer and dryer on the stairs? The tile work is ugly but overall it seems ok.

I guess I was just really surprised by the W&D at the top of the stairs.
Thought it was weird!

I’m thinking it’s the washer and dryer in the stairwell. Who does that?

It looks pretty typical of those areas of Seattle. Besides that weird W/D set up, it's a pretty decent house, but if it were like my son's Ballard neighborhood, even at that cost,it might be purchased as a teardown to throw up a multi-level modern house. It's a nice lot and mostly nice house. I'd move the W/D though cause...what?!?

That is a weird place for washer/dryer. I overlooked it at first as I was somehow expecting a person to be somewhere weird or doing something weird.

At most, that would be a $175K house in my area. While it's ok, it needs a lot of work.
edited to add: I showed DH and he thinks it would be closer to $220K here. Mainly for the lot.

Ugg! Not the greatest house for that kind of money. It looks like maybe they were trying to make it fit a 2 family household, with the 2 washers and dryers.
It maybe just be the photos, but seems pretty choppy.

Two stoves in the first kitchen. One in peninsula, actually a Cook top, and one under hood across the room.

My guess is the weird empty spot in the kitchen counter/cupboards. You can totally put anything there as it needs to be open to access the bank of drawers.

Why do these people have so many stoves and washers and dryers?

it needs some remodeling, in the kitchen, washer placement etc.. but for that area. a bargain. fits the funky vibe of the neighborhood.

I'm not reading any other replies yet, so the first thing that struck me is one that is not weird at all, but something that I personally dislike---a cooktop on an island or peninsula, with nothing protecting the burners from the surrounding area. My father was both a firefighter and an EMT, and these arrangements just always set off safety alarms for me. In this case there's a separate stove, so I'd pull that cooktop immediately. A lot of their design elements are not for me, but again, not a big deal. I'd say the photos that struck me was the one of the back of the house. I can't help but think that looks like a whole mess of possibly-non-permitted additions and changes back there. Especially since I already questioned the supports I saw on the roof of the one balcony. Now to see what the rest of you thought.

I live in the woods so the thing that got me was looking out a bedroom window and literally into the window next door!
My grandparents lived in a house like that and we could talk to our friends next door at night through the windows...

Why do these people have so many stoves and washers and dryers? Looks like it’s set up as a two family house. It’s a finished basement with its own kitchen and bathroom. That’s probably why they had find a place to put in another washer/ dryer

I do think the structure is set up or an attempt to set it up for 2 households. Upstairs there is the gas cooktop in the peninsula and then an electric stove in the same room. #22 shows another stove downstairs. We can see the washer/dryer on the stairs as well as a washer and dryer in a room (downstairs?) The outside rear seems to show 2 decks, one below the other and the top one having a shade structure of some sort. The basement room has refrigerator, washer dryer and sink. Microwaves are in both kitchen areas. Colors are a bit off. Kitchen has red/white tile and the other kitchen has purple/lavender shelves.(#7)
I like the exterior. I'd have to have a strong NO on this one.
From listing: Daylight basement with separate external access, no internal stairs===A strong NO on access to the basement being outside only!!
from listing: Includes full separate studio living space w/ full kitchen, 3/4 bath and second W/D. Ideal for multi-generational living, guests, home office or rental income.

I hoped the washer and dryer wouldn't fall backwards in an Earthquake. BOUNCE BOUNCE BOUNCE. Why is the sink adjacent to the stove in the basement apartment? I am a very messy dishwasher. I could see soap and water flying into the pans as I was cooking.
Why is there a stove and cooktop in such a small kitchen?
Perhaps the price is due to the fact that it's meant to be a house w/apt?
