I picked “yes”. I do have an account, I signed up fairly early. But I haven’t posted anything and I only look at it when someone posts a link to something on Threads.

I keep toying with the idea but am hesitant for some reason. What’s its selling point? Threads is supposed to foster more long conversations. It has a 500 character limit, whereas X has like 250. It has no hashtags. It is ad-free, which had people wondering how Threads will survive without income. |

I have one --- not sure how as I dont think I signed up. The only time I ever go to Threads is when I accidentally end up there after clicking something on Instagram.

No and I find it really annoying because my insta feed will have something in it and I start reading only to not be able to read the rest unless I join threads. It’s happening quite a bit - maybe 10% of my feed is partial posts from threads. I won’t be joining. I’m not interested in more social media accounts.

No. I am good with IG and TT. I have a new X account but only use it when I need fire updates. I get more coverage with a few people who take photos than with the watch duty app.
I check TT and IG daily.

No. I heard if you ever want to quit Threads you have to delete your IG account. I’ve never verified that though. I’m not really into the whole Twitter style of committing, so Threads wasn’t appealing enough for me to explore.

I have an unexplained dislike for 'Influencers ' which prevents me from using Instagram Threads etc besides it won't be too long before Threads becomes a cesspit like X

It's selling point is that it is like Twitter but without Musk. Twitter had more and more right wing propaganda on it and people defected.
I have it. I forget to look at it most of the time but I will follow links to it.

I will say this… a lot of the threads are vague, not referring to a specific person or a specific incident. That is very annoying. I’m not sure how that compares to X.

I caved and use it. I had to give up Twitter after Elon and I missed it. It’s not exactly the same but I’m a lurker not a poster so it’s fine. More and more people are joining so that’s good. I’m not on any social media as much anymore.
