Social Media sites - Which ones?

YouTube
Instagram
Teams - only for work

I have used 7 of them. Currently I use Facebook - to keep up with local businesses and a couple of groups which takes only a few minutes a week.

I use Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest.

Tiktok and Instagram daily.

Facebook here and there.

YouTube maybe 3x a week now. Kind of over it.

Pinterest is maybe 1x a month.

I was honestly shocked to see Pinterest that high up. Figured it would be close to the bottom of the list.

Messenger when someone sends me something

So many I've never even heard of.

I use the top four daily; I don't post on YouTube and Instagram but watch craft or other videos.  I rarely post personally on FB, it's more for my business. I use Messenger only when people contact me that way and I glance at Pinterest maybe twice a year. I’ve not heard of many of the others.

I am active on Instagram and Twitter/X.  I am less active on Twitter/X than I was before the Elon Musk changes made it less usable both for engagement and as a news source.  

I have a FB account but mostly use it to push through my Instagram content.  I stay on there because that's the only place some of my older relatives and my older former students have active accounts, but I don't like the format.

I have a TikTok account and I do watch content and comment on it; I have posted a couple of TikToks myself but I don't intend to become a creator on there.

I have a Threads account that I don't really use.  I got it when there was a lot of talk about leaving Twitter (I have Mastodon and Bluesky accounts as well, but don't use them).

I use Spotify for music every day but had not thought about it as a social media site.

I use Teams when I'm forced to by work.  I hate it so much and would always prefer Zoom.  Again, I had not thought of it as a social media site.  It's more of a work meeting hellsite for when I am going to have to meet online, but when the person calling the meeting I guess wants to make it more challenging for everyone involved.

ETA:  I realize that I do have messenger but I avoid using it.  I also have a Snapchat but haven't used it in many years.

WhatsApp and Telegram seems to be more commonly used in other countries.  Why is that?  Aren't they essentially texting the person?  Why use a special app for that?

According to Google, Spotify is considered social media because you can follow people and share what you're listening to.
