Congrats! Prepping for those exams is SO stressful.
In my state a DPT or OTD cannot be called Dr. {Lastname} Not sure if that is nationwide or not.
(I dont think Chiropractors should be called Dr either then)

Congrats! Prepping for those exams is SO stressful. In my state a DPT or OTD cannot be called Dr. {Lastname} Not sure if that is nationwide or not. (I dont think Chiropractors should be called Dr either then) I believe the rule is that they can’t use doctor without identifying themselves as a DPT. So they can’t say, I’m Dr Jane Smith. They have to say, I’m Dr Jane Smith, your physical therapist. If it’s in writing, they have to use DPT after their name. So they would write, Dr Jane Smith, DPT.

Here, they would be Jane Smith, DPT or John Jones, OTD in practice- as a professor, they would be Dr. I will double check with ds to be sure, but I believe that is how he explained it. It's been a few years!
