I have been considering cutting apart my sticker sheets and then organizing the elements into different files, drawers, or whatever so that I can find all of my flowers when I need one, or an arrow, etc.
I also believe that this might actually be an incredibly bad idea!
Does anyone have any thoughts about this? Have you done it and regretted it? Have you done it and it worked well for you?
TIA?

I have done this and it works well for me. I purchased reusable sticker paper to organize in categories. I put the sheets in page protectors in 3 ring binders. The store I purchased on Etsy is closed but here is an example of the sticker paper sheets

I think it’s a great idea if that’s how you search for things when you’re scrapping At the very least I’d do it for sticker sheets that are half used.

I cut apart sticker sheets that are 12x12 when I have used up half of the sheet or it has been awhile since I have grabbed it. I do this for 2 reasons. 1. So I can have them with matching embellishments from that paper line and 2. So I can get rid of stickers I know I will never use.
I can stand floppy half used 12x12 sticker sheets.
I keep my papers and embellishments together as follows:
Dd Ds Winter/Christmas Fall/Halloween
Everything is in 12x12 Iris containers (4 - one for each subject) and then I have smaller Iris containers with embellishments. Embellishments are stored by paper company. So SS will have a 4x6 or 3x5 container, CP will have one, etc. I do it that way because more times than not I can cross lines due to the same colors being used.
Works for me. And this past week and weekend I went through my 2 season/holiday Iris containers and cut apart 12x12 sticker sheets and got rid of stickers I won't use. I also went through ephemera and tossed pieces I know I wont use.

I do it and have had no regrets because it suits the way I look for product while making pages. I typically leave my sticker sheets whole until I'm no longer reaching for them on every layout. Then I cut them apart and store by type or colour (depending on the sticker). I tend to look for labels or flowers by type, so I store all of those together irrespective of colour, but things like an arrow or a patterned circle I'm more likely to use based on colour, so store them in my colour containers.
For me the biggest win has been using products I wouldn't have thought to look at based on how the manufacturer sold them but which turned out to be the perfect colour or size for my page.

I don't because that isn't the way I think of things when I'm doing a layout. I just can't mix up styles of stickers on one layout- it just doesn't compute for me. I've seen other people do it and it looks great but it just isn't something I do easily.
When I'm doing a layout I don't think "I need a flower here." I usually just look at the sticker sheet and figure out which sticker would work.
I keep my stickers with the matching paper most of the time. I don't have a problem mixing up lines on a layout but I don't mix up the stickers.
I can see how cutting the stickers apart would work for other people, though. It is just about how you scrap.

I organize most of my embellishments with collections but I do have color binders where I organize extra embellishments. I have a video on my channel if you would like more details. youtu.be/GDFNNc1HRcE

I cut almost all of of mine apart and then store them by theme in little containers by color. It just works with how my brain works, lol.

I do this when I’m done with a collection. I break up stickers and ephemera by color. I don’t regret cutting up anything.

I've mentioned before I will use an Exacto knife to cut out elements in sticker sheets that I think "go" elsewhere. Many boy collections have sports elements, for example. I will put those stickers in with my sports embellishments.
When the sticker sheet is half used or I am breaking apart what is left of a collection, I will cut it all aparts and store elements by theme or color.
I have an Iris case full of random items. I have them mostly in Ziploc bags I can label. I have library, work, tools, doctor, etc. It's very handy when I want an obscure element!

I keep the sticker sheet with the rest of the collection until I'm done with the collection and dispersing the remains. At that point, I do cut the sticker sheets apart and sort the individual stickers by theme or colour (both of which are stored in the Iris 4x6 photo boxes).
But that fits my scrapping style and I also tend to only have the 12x12 sticker sheets from a few manufacturers so the stickers are generally similar styles

I also do this.
It helps me to also get rid of the stickers I absolutely know I will not use.
I'm not organized though. I just have them all in one bin. That's a project for another year.

Thank you for all of your replies!
Somehow I never thought of cutting up sheets after they were mostly used. I guess I was thinking that I should do it from the very beginning before I even used them.
I don't usually think in this limiting way but then again, I do often overthink my scrapbook organization! Lol!

I have done this. I purchased sticky sheets from Amazon and bought four or five three ring binders. (there is a video, I think, from RTS that showed how this person did it) I even used the exact same binders. I do love that I did this, but it was a lot of work! More than I thought. But I feel like I see more of my stickers and use them more often now that they are sorted out.
I have them sorted like this:
Themes like kids, vintage, sports, flowers, hearts.
If they don't really fit into a category I go by color
red/green/yellow - you get the drift
Any stickers that have words go into their own binder under similar categories
All my alphabet stickers I have made a binder that I sort by the alphabet.. all my A's, B's, C's are all together. This is probably the one I don't like the most. I kinda wish I left the alphabet stickers as is.

I have done this since 1997-ish (I've been scrapbooking since fall of 1996), once I acquired enough products that some sort of organization was needed.
I sort by theme first and foremost, then whatever isn't "themed" goes into one of two "miscellaneous" binders (full of various divided sheets-pockets). I do this with everything >> stickers, die cuts, embellishments, cut outs, ephemera, etc...

I do cut up sticker sheets and books... i leave them on their sticker paper and stick that into a spiral notebook based on color... i also tack down die cuts into the same color spirals...
I only really have 3 themes Christmas Halloween and sports.. everything else is split into colors...
In the color books they are sectioned into florals, wings (birds butterflies moths) critters.. tabs n labels... icons like hash tags geotags arrows... then other things in that color

I organize supplies primarily by type then manufacturer, so all sticker sheets are stored together & divided by manufacturer. Since I'm neither a theme nor collection scrapper, I buy few sticker sheets so I can quickly peruse them. When just a couple usable (to me) stickers remain on a sheet, I may cut them out (& add them to ephemera/chipboard from the same manufacturer) & toss the partial sheet in the donation bin.

That is just not even on my radar. Too much time/effort cutting them all up. I like keeping the sheets in tact. Much easier for me to store that way.

I did that a few months ago. Yes it took a while to get it done but it’s so much easier to find things by category and color. Totally worth the time.
I also went to a system I read about in a thread. Using temporary glue I put them on paper and keep them in a notebook.
