Good morning. Happy August.
It's already August? Wow. Time is flying by.
After yesterday's acupuncture I feel so relaxed and awake. It's amazing stuff, tribe.
Dh is off to Costco. I'm so happy that I don't have to go to Costco anymore. Yippee. Today I'm going to catch up on some chores and then spend some time at the puzzle.
Dinner is rechauffe keto brown butter sage chicken. Dh said it was really good. He's on a quest to lower his blood sugar and so far he's enjoying the meals.
what's on your menu?
What is everyone up to today?
Great news about your results, ntsf. Have a safe and easy drive today.
May today be a good day for all!

I'm at the dealership getting new front brakes. After I get checked in, the van will take me home since DH is golfing.
Fiber will be Tomatillo pork.
I love going to Costco, once or twice a week. I go early when it is pretty empty.

cadoodlebug, most people I know love going to Costco. I'm a rebel. Front brakes? Are you still under warranty? I also forgot to wish our friend, jeremysgirl a fun, happy camping trip. Enjoy every second of the trip.

Good evening Today was supposed to be my cleaner day, but she rand me early to say she wasn’t feeling well and could she reschedule. Naturally I said yes - I don’t need someone sick coming into my house right now. I had to go out for a bit - to the doctor regarding my prescriptions - it’s the first time I’ve phoned in a request since we changed to eScripts, and I didn’t know if I still needed to go in to scan my insurance card or not. I also needed to get my referral corrected - my doctor wrote it for the PET scan (didn’t need one for that) and not for the actual operation. So now I am all set, except for picking up one medication that the pharmacy didn’t have in stock.
Dinner tonight is satay pork sticks with salad. I bought the sticks ready done and just had to marinate them with the satay sauce. There is a bit of sauce left to heat up and serve with them be as well.

We did not get on the road until 10:45 so about 45 minutes ago. I'm not gonna name names but somebody is not very happy. And then the dog was very excited to go. So much so that she behaved quite like a toddler who ate 3 lbs of chocolate. Which made somebody even crabbier. I've just given him a snack. So maybe that has made him less crabby. I'm nervous to ask though. 4 more hours. 🥴
I don't know what's for dinner tonight. I made a bunch of lentil burgers. And I bought a bunch of salads at the health food store last night. And I also have a bunch of fruit.

sueg , I saw your project bags on the craft thread. I love your socks and the sweater is such a pretty blue. jeremysgirl , does your grumpy companion have a particular road snack that he enjoys? Is there a food stop that he looks fwd to or does he just want to be there right now?

We always make Chex mix for our road trips. He lucked out too because I had to make changes to mine. So he got his very own stash of regular that he doesn't have to share. I got plant based.

Happy Thursday! I am home today. I woke up with a sore throat and headache. I have an employee that has a week old grandbaby living with her so I didn't want to go in and give anything to her. It should be slow enough that they won't miss me. jeremysgirl last summer DH made a comment that I did not appreciate when we were 2 miles from our house on the way to my parents. It is a 9 hour drive. I did not speak to him one time the entire drive. I even let him miss a turn. He was not amused but he knows better now on what not to say... You guys probably don't know this but I stalk the craft thread. I love seeing what everyone creates. I am letting DH come up with something for dinner tonight.

Happy Thursday!
It's first of the month reporting time for me so I'm busier than usual. Planning on watching the women's gymnastics today at lunchtime.
I ended up with taco salad last night for dinner and I'm having it again for lunch. Tonight will be a creamy mustard chicken with a side.
Hope you all have a great day!

Happy Thursday! Summer has returned with a vengeance - hot and humid. I am spending the morning getting some things done around the house then will go visit him after lunch. His trainer is going to work with him at 11 am so that will keep him busy. DH is still showing improvement daily and getting impatient to be out and working with rehab. The social worker came by yesterday to discuss options. The first recommendation was a SNIF which would give him 45 min of PT M-F. He told them that wasn't enough and he wanted a more intense program (he did one after covid). So they gave us a list of 3 that aren't far from the house and are working with insurance. He is a seriously determined man and will beat any estimates and timelines they give him. He's kept surprising them this whole journey. No idea what dinner will be. Currently leaning towards a baked sweet potato. Hope everyone has a good day! most people I know love going to Costco. I'm a rebel. Glad to know I'm not the only one who loves Costco! Then again, I just love grocery shopping!

Happy Thursday dinner friends! jeremysgirl enjoy your camping trip- I hope the unnamed grumpy companion mellows out, feed him chex mix by the handfuls. sueg- I also stalk the craft thread and love the color of your socks. I would love to learn to knit, but I already have way too many hobbies- cadoodlebug I always think of you when I go to Costco. I limit myself to bi-weekly, it always costs more than expected. @ scrapmaven I agree- how did it get to be August already!?!?!? I have an appointment this afternoon and will run a couple of errands in the area while I'm out. I need to pick up some groceries too while I'm out, DH is planning to stay at the ranch for a few more days, so I need to pick up a few things. Something for dinner may fall into the cart. or I have more of the beef/pasta dish I made last night. Wishing everyone a great day!!!

stormsts, that was very thoughtful of you to stay home for the sake of the baby. I hope you feel much better, quickly. jeremysgirl, Chex mix is supposed to make you smile. I hope that Jeremy will start to relax. Meanwhile, enjoy the scenery. **GypsyGirl**, it's such a relief to hear you talking about your dh's recovery and impatience. I am holding you in my thoughts. Tearisci, I will be at your house at dinnertime. Dinner sounds delicious. austnscrapaddict, enjoy your day.

Good Morning! Or I guess I should say afternoon. I’m a bit slow on the uptake today. I woke up to the sound of the garbage truck this morning and realized I’d slept in by 2 hours. Enjoy your camping trip jeremysgirl. Don’t let the grump get you down. I’d put on my cheerleader super peppy rainbows and unicorns and glitter act and drive him crazy. I’m envious of all of you Costco shoppers. The nearest one is 2 hours away. My bank account is glad for that, though. I am going to grill something for dinner. Probably a burger and some mixed vegetables. It’s close to 90 today and I’m not turning on the oven.

Enjoy every second of the trip. Have fun jeremysgirl ! No, my car is a 2019. Brakes aren't included in the 10 year warranty we have. Cool thing though: They no longer have a Courtesy Van take you home, they call you a Lyft/Uber! My first ever Lyft ride! The minute Peter, my service rep, put in the request, the driver was outside waiting for me. When my car is ready, they will either call me a Lyft to pick me up or DH will take me.

Back in the day, my mom, sister and I would go shopping almost every day we were together. My mom lived in Florida, my sister in San Diego and me in the Bay Area. So when we were all together we did our favorite thing: shopping. Most of the time I go to the grocery store 4-7 days a week. I like fresh stuff. It's also a social thing as I love the staff at Raley's and my favorite ones know me by name. I wonder why.

I’m envious of all of you Costco shoppers. The nearest one is 2 hours away Two requirements of where to live: Must be within 15 minutes of a Costco and close to a Kaiser facility. There are plans to put a Costco down the hill from us. Some people are fighting it. I know that a big box store of some kind will eventually go there and I know Costco is a good neighbor so I'm all for it. They are building 10,000 homes down the freeway from us so that will impact the Costco I now go to.

It sounds like you caught whatever your DH was suffering from, stormsts. Hope you feel better quickly. sueg, you are inspiring me to make up a few knitting project bags. I look at my stash, can't remember what I planned to make with the yarn and walk away. Maybe if I put a pattern & needles together with the yarn something will get made when the mood strikes. DH is still out of town, so dinner will be another super easy young adult favorite made by one of the young adults in the house. Tortellini with whatever sauce they want (pesto, tomato, lemony broth?) and a Caesar salad. DS likes to eat an hour earlier than DD so he will most likely be the chef de jour.

Another day of heat and humidity. This morning at 8 am the temp was only 24 degrees but with the humidity, it felt like 31! And the sun hadn’t even been shining yet. It’s now 31 but feels like 39. Walker and I are turning into couch potatoes. At least DH has the air conditioned garage to escape to - no couch in there!
I did go to the grocery store this morning but I’ll stay in the house now. I could find lots to do inside but the couch and my book keep calling my name.
Supper is leftover pork chop, potatoes and a salad for me. DH ate all his pork chop so he will have a grilled chicken burger.

I think I might pick up dinner tonight. A burger (from Nation’s, for those of you who are local) or else pizza. It’s my reward for clearing out the fridge. I don’t care much for going to the supermarket in person, usually just pick up orders, but as we all know … I love going to Costco. There’s just something about it. Always an adventure. I lead an exciting life like that. cadoodlebug, I had been planning to inform you that hereabouts in the Big City (ha ha), the car dealerships send you home via Uber/Lyft, not those old-school vans. You burst my bubble. 😆 Of course, I usually whine at my son to pick me up instead.

Evidently they've been doing it for a while but I never knew since DH always went with me unless I was staying for a quick service (oil change or such). Their waiting room is huge, nice comfy chairs, free coffee/water and a quiet room with no noise just soft music.

How is it August already??? I too will be joining the shopping brigade. My daughter's planning on making dinner and needed a few things and with her commute it's easier for me to pick up so she's texting me a list. She's moving into her apartment this weekend, so probably making something $$$ while I'm still picking up the tab. Have a good day all!

I just went to pick up one of my hearing aids that was in for repair. I finally feel balanced again after 10 days. I had been wearing an older one but it didn’t work together with the other one so it felt weird. I couldn’t use Bluetooth for the tv or music. The best part was I was quoted it would be a $90 repair because they are out of warranty but it came back “no charge”. They even gave me a new case and some new cleaning supplies. That’s a win!

Good day all!!
I have been so busy I haven't had time to post and read. So, I usually just read!!!
I am on the bench of, how can it be August already!!! Time is just flying by.
Dinner tonight is meatballs and salad.
I like going to Costco. My friend LOVES going to Costco. Earlier this summer I went with her and we were in there for 3.5 hours. That my friends is Costco overload. I finally told her that I would wait for her at the food court. She shops for her own family as well as her inlaws. She likes to look at everything!!!

I go in the morning and am in and out in under 15 minutes. Unless I stop to look at the clothes. During Covid when they had senior hours I was usually one of the few in the store. That was wonderful! I would even take a picture of the main aisle with no one in it and send it to DS.

One of my favorite memories w/my sister was the day we shopped all day and then she took me to see Wicked for my birthday.
