Good morning.
Dh and I are going out for breakfast. I can eat an English muffin and drink coffee. I'm just glad to be getting out of the house for something other than an errand for the home projects. Though at some point today I do need to run down to the hardware store and buy paint. That's OK, because while the paint is being mixed I can play w/their two sweet black kitties.
Dinner will be the other half of dh's breakfast.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to this weekend?
Not sure what dh and will be doing. He hates our fridge and the past 2 days it's been beeping a lot. So, we might be fridge shopping. Zzzzzzz. We need to do something fun together. It's been too long.
stormsts, how are you feeling? I hope that you're much better today.
Sending healing and comforting thoughts to those who need them. May this weekend be relaxing and fun for all.

Another boring day here. I walked to my the pharmacy but they had ordered in the wrong package size of my meds, so they have to reorder. It will be in sometime this afternoon, but it is right near our butcher, so I’ll pick it up tomorrow while we’re out shopping. My cleaning lady rang again this morning. She is still not feeling well, so I told her to stay home - for her well being as much as mine. She’s hoping to come tomorrow , but I’m not holding out much hope.
We’re going out for dinner to the nice Italian place just up the street. They have open air dining at the back, so hopefully the weather holds and we can eat out there.

Happy Friday dinner friends! scrapmaven - enjoy your breakfast out- I rarely eat breakfast out- It's always a treat when I do. sueg - I hope the weather holds out for you also- Enjoy your dinner! I'm listening to a course that I'm taking for one of my professional goals- The topic isn't boring, but the speaker is pretty dry. I want to get this 18 hour self paced course finished! When I finish this section I'm going to the grocery store. I have somewhat of a meal plan made, DH is still at the ranch thru the weekend, but I'm desperate for fresh veggies and fruit. Dinner will be a salad or baked sweet potato. I may have finally figured out how to add pictures, Here are a couple of the pup. The second one is her favorite place to "chill" when at the ranch. Never a dull moment here!

Off to Aqua Fit! I'll run an errand afterwards then come home and sort out what photos to print from our trip. And watch the Olympics in the background. Dinner might be spaghetti and meatballs. TGIF everyone!!

Happy Friday!
I woke up in a funk today and it's not getting better as the day goes on. I barely got the Wordle and I've already had one issue at work. I just need to get through the day and on to the weekend.
I'm going to see the new M. Night Shaymalan movie tomorrow so I'm looking forward to that.
It's going to be 103 here today with a heat index of 110 so I'm definitely not looking forward to that! So thankful for good AC!
Hope you all have a great day!
Edited to add dinner plans! I'm having salisbury steak and mashed potatoes.

We just spent an hour in DH’s truck getting his new iPhone synced, CarPlay working and showing him how to use it. DH is amazing at most stuff, building stuff, fixing stuff, etc but when it comes to IT issues, he has no patience.
Beginning to storm here and it’s thundering. Walker is glued to me. I feel so bad that storms scare him so much.
We are going out for supper tonight. Using a gift card so the bill should be relatively inexpensive.

He's doing well! We see improvement daily. He's just been approved to transfer to a top rehab facility in the medical center. They are waiting on both insurance approvals and medical approvals so the transfer will most likely happen on Monday or Tuesday next week. It's an aggressive program which is what he asked for. So with luck he'll be home in 2 weeks or so! I am off to visit a friend today and get a tour of her recent remodel, then we are going to lunch. She doesn't live far from the medical center so I'll go see DH after that. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

austinscrapaddict...OMG..Your pup is just to cute!!!! Clearly she knows how to "chill"!!!!! GypsyGirl...Glad to hear your DH continues to improve!!! Good News on the rehab!!!
I had to have my vehicle at the dealer early for an engine light that came on, seems it wanted a software update, Go figure....I guess this is 2024, not 1974!!! I know... showing my age here. DH met me for breakfast at our local place..which was good. Then I went to the market. Tomorrow is our retirees brunch and I needed ingredients for the baked french toast I am making.
I have been doing some prep work for a baby album I am making for DH's nephew and his wife. They are not finding out the gender of the baby, so the gender specific pages will have to wait, unless I do doubles one set in each color. The shower is the WE after I get back from France so I want to at least get this project rolling.
Dinner will be grilled pork ribs which DH seasoned with one of his rib rubs, salad and leftover cole slaw

Well, I was all wrong about dinner last night. I forgot I’d told my son I’d take him to Benihana for his birthday dinner. Grandma came along, too. We had a really nice dinner and it only cost me a small fortune. And I have rechauffe scallops, fried rice, sautéed zucchini, onions, and mushrooms for tonight. Still craving that Nation’s burger, though. Maybe next week. My excitement this weekend will be an outdoor concert with a local soul/blues band at a nearby winery on Sunday. The drummer is someone we know, and other friends are coming, too. There will be wine, food, dancing, etc. Hoping it won’t be TOO hot. scrapmaven, enjoy your breakfast date. **GypsyGirl**, so glad your DH is one step closer to getting sprung.

lucyg..omg a nations burger.. such a classic!!!
drove to idaho in 12.5 hrs yesterday..only stopped to pee cause it was so hot and smokey.. didn't feel like doing anything else. this morning, swam in the pool across the driveway. met a couple who bought the condo my dad owned in the 1980's.
unloading the car today. going to the store.. have no idea about dinner for me.. may just snack. dh has a rib stew he made, that's not in my meal plan.
I have a huge stack of new stuff for the kitchen here. so will spend today and the rest of the week reorganizing the whole thing. of course, about the time I was crossing the bay bridge after leaving home I realized there were at least two big bags I meant to bring with me and didn't. oh well.
may go to the free classical concert tonight. they have a 6 week musical festival with musicians from all over the us and the world and they have an open pavilion and big lawn and you can just see them for free. take a picnic or snag a seat. it is hot out here.. about 90.
so hi from idaho. I'll be here about 1 week.

I can eat an English muffin and drink coffee. I hope you enjoyed breakfast! I haven't had an English muffin in years but have weirdly been craving one lately and thinking about learning how they were made on the GBBO a few years ago. So I just spent 30 or so minutes searching/reading recipes. The second one is her favorite place to "chill" when at the ranch. I might be fighting her for that spot - she is adorable. Glad you made it safely to Idaho, ntsf. Great news for your DH, **GypsyGirl**. My excitement this weekend will be an outdoor concert with a local soul/blues band at a nearby winery on Sunday. The drummer is someone we know, and other friends are coming, too. There will be wine, food, dancing, etc. Hoping it won’t be TOO hot. Now I just spent another 30 minutes checking out local summer concert series and was reminded tonight is my city's monthly Art Walk. Depending on when DH is likely to get home, I might take him done for a wander around. I'd abandon dinner plans to eat from one of the food trucks I know will be at the Art Walk, but I've already made a potato and green bean salad. It's going to be a hot day here, too, so all indoor cooking gets done early. Salmon will be grilled later along with the usual vegetables (asparagus, onion, peppers and zucchini).

Happy Friday! I am waiting for a delivery and then I am taking the rest of the day off. I am going to venture into the city and go to the BIG Joann's I am needing some fake fur. I am going to be making a lion costume for Halloween. I am going to my sisters in CA this year for Halloween and we are all dressing up as characters from the Wizard of OZ. Should be a real hoot!! I have a few other places on my list to go while I am in town. It all hinges on how my back is feeling. Depending on when I am headed back home, I might pick up Texas Roadhouse to go. Yum!! **GypsyGirl** So glad to hear that the dh is doing better. I hope he can come home soon. lucyg I haven't been to Benihana in years, but it always was a fun experience. scrapmaven I hope you enjoy that English muffin!!

scrapmaven your english muffin makes me think of crumpets. There used to be a great British tea shop near Golden Gate Park and they had fresh crumpets. We hate our fridge too but are waiting on remodeling the kitchen to make a larger opening for the fridge. austnscrapaddict what a cute dog! cadoodlebug regarding yesterday's meme we had another golden retriever that adored cows. We would be driving and as soon as we said cows he would jump up to look at them. taylortroop You might want to check out thundershirts for dogs. They are supposed to help in storms calming their anxiety. **GypsyGirl** how wonderful to have an end in site to coming home. karenlou software updates can be critical. We kept having problems with our older CRV not starting, replacing the battery and alternator only to have it happen again. After googling a lot online I determined it was a software update and I came into the dealership with my towed car and showed them the info. They were like it's the alternator but they agreed to have that checked out. I was right. lucyg how fun to go to Benihana! I love soul/blues. Sounds wonderful. ntsf outdoor classical music sounds wonderful. We used to go to the Hollywood Bowl and loved the concerts. Yesterday I met a friend for a 3 hour lunch. We meet twice a year and spend lots of time catching up. It was a full day. Today is a little more relaxed. DH will get off early and wants to pick up dim sum for lunch/dinner. I had avocado toast for breakfast with (the illegal in Korea) Everything but the bagel seasoning and tomatoes from the garden. So tasty.

if you drive across nevada on I-80.. takes about 5-6 hours and it is pretty easy with cruise control and 80 mph limits and almost no traffic... I left just before 6 am.. so there is really little traffic anywhere except light traffic in sacramento and navigating the resort town.. where they are redoing main street this summer and it is a total mess of detours. i also know the road really well. I drive up from sf to seattle in one day too.. I don't mind it.

lucyg that show sounds like a lot of fun, and definitely something that I (and my Blues-loving DSO) would really enjoy. ntsf 12.5 hours driving?! How? And more importantly, WHY?! There's no way I could do that. Four hours is the absolute longest I can drive, then I start falling asleep. I admire people like you who can drive long distances (but I still wouldn't want to do it). A friend from work and I went out to a concert last night. It was by one of our favourite female singers (who we saw earlier this year) and a male singer doing the songs of Carole King and James Taylor. It was fabulous! Before the show, we had dinner at an Argentinian restaurant close to work and the concert venue. We didn't have a lot of time, so we each ordered some small dishes. My three were all delicious, but I tell you what, I was glad that I had a big lunch, because they were not very filling! Matrimonio Moruno: Don Bocarte black anchovy, Yurrita while anchovy, cultured cream & tomato on garlic toast Croqueta de jamón y chorizo: Jamón Iberico, chorizo, bresaola croquette, aioli & caper and guindilla relish Ceviche de corvina: Kingfish, celeriac tigers milk, pickled kohlrabi, smoked Avruga caviar, puffed corn & coriander I've just noticed that my poor little croqueta is blurry! I was trying to take the photos quickly, so that I didn't look like one of those wankers who always takes photos of their food and I messed it up.

AussieMeg: I have to say that I would never be able to go out with you to eat. I never know what any of the dishes are called or what is in them. Most of the stuff I’ve never heard of! Marina: I took a look at Thundershirts. Some of the reviews say they are awesome and some say they didn’t work. Do you have any experience using one?

AussieMeg : I have to say that I would never be able to go out with you to eat. I never know what any of the dishes are called or what is in them. Most of the stuff I’ve never heard of! I must admit, the first time I went to this Argentinian restaurant and saw "tigers milk" as one of the components, I was a little perplexed and a lot grossed out! I googled it, and to my relief, discovered that it's "a traditional Peruvian sauce that is commonly added to a ceviche, commonly made from lime juice, sliced onions, pepper, salt, some chillies and juices from the fish." I mean, "fish juice" doesn't make it sound much more appealing haha, but it was tangy and delicious.

from sf to idaho.. there are only cheesy not great motels along the way.. kinda of like driving in parts of outback (but great freeway).. from sf to seattle, I have stayed with friends along the way. but leave early, drive all day, sleep at familiar location. even at 25 I drove cross the usa by myself.. drove about 6000 miles.. and the last day I drove from salt lake city to seattle.. next day went skiing.. that was too much and I wouldn't do it today. the new tech makes it easy..
