Poor guy...he will endure all kinds of teasing. Really though, in all the years of practicing, he didn't learn to have things "properly put away?"

Poor guy! How embarrassing to be now known forever because of this!
But in watching the video, he did actually touch the bar first with his shins. That started the bar bouncing, and welp, the rest is now history.

While unfortunate, the comments are quite amusing. He will be forever remembered though.
The pole vault is very special to me because the record holder, Mondo Duplantis, attended LSU. He represents Sweden because his mom is Swedish. When we were in Sweden in May, people would approach me because of my LSU cap and start talking about him. Many think he is a national treasure/hero.

Poor guy. These athletes train so hard for so long and I hate seeing them lose for any other reason than there was another athlete who performed better than they did. I guess losing is something they learn to deal with, but if it is for an odd reason, it makes it much worse for them.
Although, and I will go ahead and say it, if you have to be teased for something for the rest of your life, I suppose having the topic of the teasing to be the huge size of your package isn’t the absolute worst thing.

Larger, yes. The problem was lack of containment or misplaced.

I always go straight to the comments- gold! I think there has been a diver who has generated a lot of interest because of his manhood as well There was an Aussie 100 m runner [who now happens to be a daytime TV announcer ] whose manhood flopped from side to side as he ran. This was some years ago now , and it might have been Commonwealth games rather than Olympics ,but the video still pops up on Aussie TV from time to time 🤣😵💫

Poor guy! How embarrassing to be now known forever because of this! Guys don't get embarrassed about having "proportions." He's a legend among the bros and his twitter feed is exploding. Notice I didn't say "blowing up?" Ok, I just did. Missed it by inches. Where's RuPaul when you need him?

I’d venture to say that if he didn’t prepare &/or dress to properly contain/control all body parts then the other athlete did perform better at pole vault today. It’s part of the competition to come prepared to compete, it’s one of the first things I learned in high school track. Be it the proper bra or shorts or securing my shoes properly that’s all part of proper competition preparation. Just like women need to control where their breasts go. 🤷♀️

But, he hit the bar earlier, causing it to bounce. I bet if he hadn't touched the bar with his shin, there would not been a bulge episode. It was a chain reaction of sorts.

I don’t know if it’s something that would ever have crossed their minds before? I wonder if this had ever happened in the multitude of jumps during the hours and hours of practice? If it hadn’t, like you say, would that have even crossed his mind to secure himself in some extra fashion?

I read a comment somewhere that a drag queen could have shown him how to tuck properly. I had a giggle at that. Oh, camcas, that would be Matt Shirvington. He now does something on Channel 7 here.

Well. World record broken tonight. 20'6" YES!! Mondo did it ~ not that I ever doubted he would. He's broken his own world record 8 times! I loved how everyone in the stadium stayed to cheer him on.

I bet he enjoyed Mom telling him that 🤣 I think I learned to be very matter-of-fact about body stuff early on, so believe it or not, he just laughed and said "duly noted," or more accurately, whatever the 16-year-old version was. He was a gymnast, so he got used to being nearly naked in front of a crowd pretty early on, lol. I'm actually the one he mostly comes to about body related things, as my husband is very squeamish about so much as a paper cut!

I told my DH it's a good thing he's not from Poland. The Pole did not win his pole vault because of his pole. Yes, I'm a child.
