Hi everyone! Thank you so much for the gracious thoughts and words of encouragement yesterday. You all made me feel so much better ... sometimes we just need to hear that we belong, kwim? I value each and every one of you and quite a few of you I can really call "friend". I apologize to the Pea who does not like photos with people she does not know in them or photos where we stick out our tongues ... those are the bulk of the photos I take so scroll past I guess! Today I will give you a final photo from our adventure ... we met up with a woman we went to elementary and junior high with ... we are all 57 and met when we were eight years old ... my girlfriend has kept in touch with the other girl but I have not ... it was nice to see her though! Here is our little reunion: I'm on the right in the white top, my Ontario friend is in the middle and our friend from school is on the left ... I'm getting ready to meet my mum at Denny's for breakfast Then I will go to the home decor store to look for a new Fall wreath ... I don't need one but I might want one! My mum is coming over for dinner after Bingo ... I think we are having Sloppy Joes ... easy peasy! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Happy Sunday!
I'm just chillin' this morning watching the Olympics. After the gymnastics, I'll do some cleaning. I'm going to a baby shower today for my nephew's cousin. All babies are a blessing but the circumstances of the pregnancy are not the greatest for these two very young people so we're going to be there to support them.
Dinner tonight will be chicken something-or-other. I took it out of the freezer late last week and I need to use it up.
Hope you all have a great day!

I do scroll by things that don't appeal to me, as I'm sure that many other peas do the same, however, you DID ASK. 2peas is about the only social media site that I participate/post/read. I have been kind to you in the past with fabric donations when you were teaching. I suppose that I am more *direct* than other peas are. That is simply who I am. I'm glad that you enjoyed your time with your friend and were able to meet up with another school friend. Dinner is to be decided.

Good morning! leannec I think it's just so wonderful you still have childhood friends. Ironically I was contacted by a woman I used to be good friends with in elementary school. Her sister lives near me and she asked if I might be interested in getting a coffee next time she's up. I also have a guy friend I do like 4 or 5 hour lunches with every couple of months who was probably my childhood bestie. He lived a couple of houses down and we played together all the time. He has a brilliant mind and I love getting together with him. It's awesome whenever we make lasting connections like that. Leanne you are lucky. I'm ready to go home. Jeremy wants to stay through lunch. I did stay up late last night finishing Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Don't tell anyone I cried at the end. I'm such a sap. Dinner tonight will be a mish mash of vegetables I have left from this weekend, a carton of blueberries, and some tortilla chips. Don't ask me what that equals in terms of crafted meals go. Have a lovely day friends.

leannec- what a long friendship! That is really special. Today we are going to church and then I am out for the day to meet dd1 for Lunch and shop together and then shop alone at Costco and the grocery store for the upcoming week. Looking forward to the first part- not so much the second. I’ll probably just have yogurt or something for dinner since I’ll have a big lunch and after all the shopping/putting away I am not about to make dinner. I am dreading tomorrow a bit already. I’ve had a number of shorter weeks/days off this summer but next week is 5 long days.

I hope you find a little time to craft this week so it doesn't make your 5 days feel super long.

Do you think that she will be present at a meeting that is earlier in the day? I will be sending many positive thoughts your way that you will be able to keep your head from exploding. May you have a better week ahead than you think is possible.

I felt like I had to have this meeting with her after my boss said in my evaluation that I need to improve my communication with her. But this meeting is because she's been asked to do something and she can't wrap her brain around how to do it. So for the third time, I'm going to try to walk her through it. This is frustrating for me. I'll have to try to shore up my patience. But the rest of my week looks good. 😀 ETA: I'm considering canceling and washing my hands of it. Telling my boss it's not my problem.

Good evening all,
Normal Sunday here. Church this morning - in the bidding prayers DH prayed for people undergoing medical issues, and then mentioned my surgery this week, so I had a lot of people come up to me after Mass to speak to me and wish me well. After church, lunch then sport on TV - some Olympics and some local second division football. I’ve also been doing some knitting, getting projects set up ready for the next month or so.
Dinner will be chicken with whatever spicing DH decides on. There will also be potatoes which we didn’t have last night and a salad.

It’s stinking hot here today although rumor has it it’s gonna cool off to the mid 70s in the next day or so. We are headed to my great nieces birthday a couple weeks ago, but her dad was on national duty so today is the day. Just hoping that his mother-in-law‘s backyard has lots of shade. That’s where they’re staying until their house is built, which should be done shortly.
No idea about dinner. It’s gonna be hot. Might just be ice cream.

leannec how fun that you two got together with another former classmate. Did y'all make it to the dinosaur museum? Being a Navy brat, my earliest *connection* is from 8th grade in 1961. We still keep in touch. And my high school classmates, I keep in touch with about 160 of them as I send out monthly group emails about the goings-on of everyone. Some emails are happy ones but more frequently they are sad. DH and I walked before 7 AM as it's going to be another scorcher. Actually scorchers are expected all week. Ugh! Dinner is to be decided when I go to the grocery store in a little bit.

Good morning! I tried to sit outside this morning but the mosquitoes are brutal. There was a wonderful breeze last night which kept them away so we did get some time to sit on the deck after supper.
Not much happening today so far. DH is at the Y doing his workout and will perhaps go on an ATV ride with his buddy. I’ll hang out at home and putter around.
Tomorrow is a holiday (Civic Holiday - always the first weekend in August).
Supper will be leftover grilled steak along with my already leftover pulled pork/mac and cheese.

How are you doing as the date approaches sueg ? You need some extra warm fuzzies and calming vibes sent to you? ❤️ I am a bit nervous. As I said to a church friend this morning, the stakes on this seem a bit bigger than previous surgeries - if they messed up my breast surgery, I could have ended up lopsided, my knees surgeries, I’d have had mobility problems (which I already had), but cutting into my skull is on another level! I am trying to just have faith and trust in the skills of my doctors. I am going to be at one of the top teaching hospitals in the country after all.

Yes I had tried to put myself in your shoes and I would have some anxiety too. At least this was caught early and you know you have very fine surgeons. Tell Mr. G it's time for extra hugs this week. 😉

leannec - soo fun to have lifelong friends. When my mum passed, there was a lady at her funeral who had been a kindergarten classmate of hers and they had stayed friends all their lives. Like cadoodlebug, I was a military brat so am not in touch with friends from the early years. I do keep in touch (via FB) with a couple of friends from when I first came to the States in late elementary school 44 years ago. sueg - prayers jeremysgirl - I'm sorry about the upcoming meeting. I support washing your hands of it. Hi to the rest of the dinner people Dinner tonight is taco salad with homemade guacamole.

sueg, I would like to tell you not to worry....however I know that won't work😘 I wish I could be there to take care of you!! Sounds like you have a fabulous surgeon and are being treated a a wonderful facility....I am keeping you in my daily prayers ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I am working through the laundry this morning towels are done , sheets are in the drier and my darks in the wash, DH did his darks yesterday. I have a zucchini bread in the oven that is smelling amazing, It is a savory one with various spices and grated parmesan cheese. A recipe I got from FB earlier in the week. I'll LYK how that is.
Dinner is pork from the rack of pork I roasted the first of the week. We usually do pizza on the night I work, however we did that Friday so simple tonight , pork apple sauce a salad and perhaps corn. Working on a meal plan for the week, and a grocery list for tomorrow, I'll go on my way home from work.
My Bff and I met on 9/4/68...so 56 years next month!!!

So, yesterday seemed like an important day to stay on the thread. However, the power company disagreed and my power went out for hours. Internet didn't come back on until after I went to bed. I have a hard time posting from my phone. I don't see anyone on this thread as anything other than part of the tribe. Bring up any topic you want to discuss. Ask fun questions. We're all in this together. sueg , you are going to be in my thoughts all week. Which day is your surgery? Let's make sure to keep SueG in our thoughts and prayers this week, as well as Mr. G. paget and jeremysgirl , I hope that you will find a way to balance the work overload w/some fun after work. jeremysgirl , that you were dinged on your communication w/her on your review is just a joke and very wrong. I blame your idiot boss. ntsf , I almost asked if you were going skiing today. DOH! Enjoy your swim. leannec , what a great photo. You all look so happy together.
karenlou, my bff and I have been friends for 49 years. We met in Jr. High. We've been together through all of our most important milestones and losses.
Linda, how are you feeling? Are you covid free, yet?
Dh is painting a wall today that had to be messed up when they replaced the window. I'll be at my video game and perhaps starting to put my office back together. I'm still a bit sleepy, but maybe better. UGH! I'm not sure what we're having for dinner. I might have to sneak out to the grocery store and find something. Enjoy today, tribe.

scrapmaven - I will be admitted for all the pre-op stuff on Wednesday and surgery will be Thursday. DH says he is going to confiscate my phone Wednesday night or Thursday morning and not give it back til I’m back on the regular ward sometime Friday, so I’ll be out of touch for a while. karenlou - I know you are a nurse, but also part of me thinks you may work ICU? I too wish you could be here and be my overnight IVU nurse.

sueg , you will have people all over the world saying prayers and sending thoughts. I believe that karenlou is an OR nurse, not to mention a very kind soul. leannec , I'm very direct, though I try to be gentle. Sometimes I'm just blunt. I hate baggage. So, I say it when I see it.

I am going to whine here today. DH and I are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary today. We are both still sick. He had made dinner reservations at a very nice restaurant for this evening but we just canceled them. We rarely do anything for our anniversary so I was pleasantly surprised when he told me about the reservations. We will go another time but I am bummed. We are going away next weekend for a concert so that will help make up for it. We have been reminiscing today about our wedding day. We were so young and naive. He was 21 and I 20. I am sure so many people thought we were stupid for getting married so young but it's lasted. sueg I will keep you in my prayers this week. It sounds like you will be in great hands. leannec another great picture! Lifelong friends are the best. ntsf a trip to New Zealand sounds fantastic. karenlou I am another that is anxious to hear how your bread turned out. Sounds like a lot of us need groceries. I didn't want to go but we are out of everything so I asked YDS to pick up a few things for us. He should be here shortly. I had no idea for dinner but I am getting some ideas from you ladies so all is not lost.

leannec how fun that you two got together with another former classmate. Did y'all make it to the dinosaur museum? My longtime best friend, her dh, her Dad and I all went to Drumheller, Alberta (about 90 minutes from Calgary) to visit the world famous Tyrrell Museum ... it is an awesome facility filled with fossils and bones ... many are almost full skeletons of dinosaurs of every shape and size ... it is truly amazing. **I basically wanted to kill myself or others while there. The place was really at capacity people wise which isn't my fav but I can deal ... The first floor you walk through is all fossils and information about how the dinosaurs lived and died ... evolution ... paleontology ... why that particular area of the world is so critical to research ... seriously, people find dinosaur bones in their backyards! This floor takes about an hour to see ... we had a family not far behind us with two small children ... the girl in the stroller was 2-3 years old ... she SCREECHED or SCREAMED off and on for the entire hour and the parents ignored it Because they were behind us in the exhibit there was no way to escape them without missing out on things ... When we reached the point where you move to the other floor and see the actual skeletons (the good stuff!) ... I had to tap out because I was ready to have "teacher words" with those parents and their child ... I know that wouldn't have gone well so I just removed myself from the situation and found a bench to sit on while everyone else went through the rest of the museum ... I played on my phone and shopped in the gift shop ... I just cannot be in an environment with unruly children ... especially when they have parents who are not parenting!!! Take your screeching child outside or to the cafeteria! So anyway, museum is gorgeous but must be enjoyed when you are lucky enough to choose a day that there are few very small children Oh, and Drumheller is basically desert country ... it was about 40 degrees Celsius ... ugh!

I have a zucchini bread in the oven that is smelling amazing, It is a savory one with various spices and grated parmesan cheese I've never made a savory zucchini bread and definitely interested. leannec, how fun to meet up with another childhood friend. There is just something about not having to explain your life history to someone that makes all the old connections special, even if it has been decades since you saw them. I'm another one lucky enough to have BFFs for 50+ years. sueg, sending you all the calming vibes as you go into this week. I'm also looking at a heavy medical week with a PET/CT scan early tomorrow, my first immunotherapy only infusion Wed and a f/u* with my gyne onc Thurs. Hoping for no evidence of disease, no reactions/side effects and removal of all surgical restrictions. *f/u = follow up not what you might be thinking Trying to burn off my nervous energy, I walked 4 miles yesterday and ended up with a blister on my baby toe so plan to spend today in the office. Hopefully it will work to keep me out of the kitchen and mindlessly snacking. Greasy potato chip fingers don't work well while card making. I put dibs on yesterday's grilled sausage and vegetables, planning to toss them with pasta. We have a new to us Trader Joe's Lemon Torchietti pasta I want to try.
