I noticed it in synchronized diving this time. Not sure if this is new or I’ve just never noticed? The butt cheeks don’t really bother me but I find it ironic that it’s only women’s buttcheeks. No one is making men wear something that lets the cheeks hang out. True - but there's the diver who's gone viral for his "bulge" in the speedo and the pole vaulter who's manhood is being widely discussed for interfering with his jump. While no doubt women are more sexualized, there seems to be a trend to also sexualize male athletes. Would prefer to go in the other direction!

I live in the beach volleyball capital of the world and those women are IN SHAPE. I've always said I'd like to come back looking like a beach volleyball player in my next life. I've never seen one that wasn't flawless!
A couple of women players sat in front of me at the beach today (volleyballs in tow) and I saw one of them and thought "What is it like to be God's favorite?" LOL

This rant came from a friend's FB post where she and her husband are at Lollapalooza and apparently there are butt cheeks everywhere. I teach middle school and we basically have no dress code. I definitely can see the bottom of the butt cheek on some of the girls. The shirts are really low, too. One had such a deep v that I saw underboob. It is really inappropriate and our assistant principal tries to address it but our school district just won't fight the parents on it. I'm old- it just looks so inappropriate to me. And on the Olympic topic- some of the women's uniforms definitely look like they were designed by men. It is so stupid and misogynistic. And women have been putting up with it for so long that a lot think it is normal.

they must have changed something because the norwegian team was fined for wearing shorts last olympics or the one before. Please see my post above. There have not been required since 2012. Then why was the Norwegian team fined four years ago?

And I checked: the Norwegian team was fined for wearing shorts just three years ago

Divers and artistic swimmers suits are cut to maximize the length of their legs since that is a focal point of their performances. (I wasn’t a gymnast but I’m assuming the same applies to them.) I think the human body in action is amazing to watch so as long as the athlete is comfortable I think they should wear whatever they like.

I mean..sand could be uncomfy!
