Have you done it? Have you found a carrier or other way to protect them? On a Facebook group I’m in a gal said she just zip ties them together and they’ve been fine. I guess I feel that might be too risky and would prefer some sort of bag to protect them. Dh and I each get three free checked bags, so baggage fees aren’t an issue. On prior beach trips we’ve bought news ones and gifted them before leaving or rented them. But, if I could jus take mine that would certainly be easier.

We take big-@$$ chairs to Jazzfest every year. We put them in a box and check them. This year, we needed mini-chairs because of the Stones and we bought these: Moon lence

I don’t want to buy new chairs as I already have four and there are four of us traveling. We’ll have lots of beach days. The resort charges like $90 for two per day…which is crazy.
Boxes would be basically free and offer more protection. That’s a good idea.

Not sure how big your chairs are, but if you are trying to find a larger somewhat flatter box, try a bike store. The boxes the bikes come in could likely hold all 4. And I've seen mountain bikers use them to travel with their bikes on planes so I know the airlines accommodate them.
And $90 for two chairs per day is insane.

Not sure of the chair size, but could you put them in those big Ikea zip up bags that everyone uses for moving into the dorm?

They make bags for car seats for flying. I’d look into something like that. They have straps so you can wear them on your back until you check them. We have one for our son’s car seat, it was $20.

Back when you could check 2 bags without charge we would take these chairs with us to Hawaii. We put them in a Christmas tree bag - like a tarp and then duck taped them up.
