Yeah, can’t tell these days if it’s hot flashes, extreme heat outside, or the meds I take that apparently make me extra hot and sweaty.
Not fun.

I've always thought it terribly unfortunate that calories are units of heat, because man alive, if I could burn them by being overly warm, I'd be burning calories like crazy all of the time.

Could you imagine? They’d help fight the damn weight that wants to settle in my stomach, an issue I’ve never had in my,life.
It’d at least help my mindset because it’s 3:00 am and I’m awake cause I woke up burning and sweaty

It's a shame the hot flush heat can't be harnessed for good use. I could power our house I think.

Amen. ITA!
I'm just starting to get hot flashes and it's driving me CRAZY. I hate them. Doesn't help it's hot with 100% humidity.

Here's a fun new take. I'm dealing with frozen shoulder and am in PT for it which is helping. What's not helping is the fact that I can't regularly lift my arm up so my armpit can be fully dried off. It's surface of the sun hot here and I'm finding I've got a rash in my armpit where I can't naturally lift it and the sweating from the hot flashes/outside heat are causing the sweat to get trapped. I can lift the bad arm with the good one to both clean the area and put cream on it, but that only lasts until the next round of heat undoes it all. it's driving me insane.

Oh. You'd know the difference, hot flashes aren't anywhere the same as just hot weather..
But Omgosh yes!!!
Surely they do a few though right? Wringing wet with sweat needs to do more than dehydrate us.

My hot flashes stopped when I started doing the generic Mounjaro shots, which was an unexpected and very welcome side effect.
I felt them trying to make a comeback when I was off the need for a couple weeks. I'll never do that again! Not for another decade anyway!
I had dozens of them per hour, 24/7. It was the most miserable time of my life. Started at age 50 and continued for a year until I started the med (for weight loss). I've been free of them for a year now (other than when I briefly didn't take the med).
I never hear anyone else mention this so I wonder if I'm alone in this? Mounjaro stopped my menopause symptoms. It's obviously a hormonal thing, the weight gain and emotional mess and hot flashes. Menopause is truly awful.

I was sitting at the table eating dinner last night. I notice that the room was hot even though we had the air on. I went elsewhere in the house and my back was clammy. I got no warning or anything. I was just wet. That’s a hot flash, right? (I am 55.5 yrs old). I don’t really get them. I do take estrogen and chlonodine.

It's saved my sanity, since I can't take estrogen.

My menopause lasted 15 years, with hideous hot flashes multiple times a day, and gods forbid if I had any anxiety creeping on me. 😠
If hot flashes burned calories, I would have melted away part way thru year 6.

I'm down to one per night and it comes at the same time every evening. Really? Haven't we already paid our woman dues?
