Tropical Storm Debby is due to give us some needed rain tomorrow. DH and I had plans for a trip to Charlotte on Friday that we postponed. He made alternate plans to see customers in the mountains tomorrow and then the forecasted amount of rain increased so he has put those off as well. My quilt guild meeting was cancelled for tomorrow due to the presenter having Covid and the bad weather. I think we will be staying home. We've finally had some rain off and on the last 3 weeks but can use a little more.
I hope no one is getting flooded.

My DS is in the DC metro area and they are supposed to get quite a bit of rain but I'm hoping it will peter out before then.

we got nearly 15" of rain. I lost power for less than a day but many are still without power. Lots of flooding in my area and the rivers haven't peaked yet so more to come

They are talking hitting NJ on Friday. It is moving a bit west as it heads north...

Eastern South Carolina here, about an hour inland from Myrtle Beach. It's been raining off and on since Monday afternoon. The wind is picking up now and the latest forecast I saw had Debby moving directly over us tomorrow afternoon. We've had inches of rain at this point, though I'm not sure an exact number, but so far it seems considerably less (thankfully!) than originally forecast which was upwards of 20". Glad it didn't go back over the water and restrengthen too much.

We polished off the Key Lime Pie we got for our emergency kit, you know, bread, canned goods, ice, key lime pie. Yeah. It didn't even hit here. The pie was good, though.

We live in southeast Ga and had 12 inches of rain. We’re fine but lots of flooded roads and two dams breached. I think it’s over for us now.

We're watching the weather very closely and prepping all of our flood necessities, not because out area is set to receive massive amount of rain, but because we have running water on our property and all it really requires is a blocked storm drain to cause us (and the neighbors down hill from us) issues.
DH is already planning to stay home from work tomorrow so that he'll be on deck if need be. If our water goes over its bounds it floods our street within a very short amount of time, so he's not keen on going to work and waiting for a call if things start to look dicey, because he may arrive home to find the street closed and it rather difficult to approach the house.

Sounds like good preparation. It's raining here this morning, a nice soft rain. If we have this all day, I'd be delighted. It is supposed to be heavier rain later in the day.

We're supposed to see Debby tomorrow into Saturday. It's going to be rain, not a wind event. I'm not worried about rain but I hate wind.

Of course I don't want a tropical storm with flooding, but we need several days of soaking rain to even begin to get out of this drought.

My ds in Georgia. Power was out, roads washed away, schools canceled, etc. Thankfully the water didn’t come into ds’s house but it was a close call. 😱 The worst seems to be passed now, and now the clean up and road repairs have to happen. Their back yard. After just the first part of the storm.

That's how it's been here today as well, and yesterday, too. Wonderful for the plants, and a sigh of relief for as long as it remains this way.

We have lots of roads flooding and trees down, here in the Piedmont of NC. Our power flickered earlier, but thank goodness, still on.
