I just got home from the Foo Fighters concert in Los Angeles. It was awesome. My son bought tickets a while ago, and I gave him some cash to supplement. His friend last minute became unable to attend, so he asked me to go (we went to the Rolling Stones a few weeks ago) so of course I said yes.
He's 23 and just awesome. He cared for me the whole time (though I'm not super old or feeble), holding my hand through crowds and making sure I was okay. We took the Metro there and back.
He was super emotional for their encore last song. He said that this concert was probably the best thing he's ever seen. And we went to the Rolling Stones a few weeks ago. (The last concert I attended was The Wiggles with him.)
He's my GorgeousKid.
(side note- I work with the Foo Fighter's keyboardist's sister._

I’m happy to hear it was great. I’m going with a bunch of family in a week. Pretenders are opening for them. I’m pumped about that, too. Totally looking forward to it.

How exciting! My youngest son loves the Foo Fighters and wish we lived close enough to him that we could have gone together.

We saw them in London in June. They are always awesome! They were both my kids’ first gigs: DS was about 10 or 11 and saw them in London, a few years later DD was about the same age when we all saw them at the MK Bowl. This year was meant to be all 4 of us again, but DS is living in Japan for a year so it was just us three. Glad you had a good time

Isn't it awesome spending time with your young adult son like that. My ds is also 23 and he is fantastic about always looking out for me, and still holds my hand when we cross streets and even sometimes just randomly while walking thru a store. I love it. 😍

So cool! Both the Foo Fighters and going with your DS. I'm going to see Pink with DD(27) next month. We were supposed to see her last Oct in Vancouver and the show was canceled, so I was thrilled when she announced a local show. Maybe 10ish years ago I bought tickets for DD & a friend to see her and said after I'd paid I really regretted not buying one for myself. She was horrified then at the thought of going to a show with her mother, but excited this time around.

That's awesome!
We saw them last month in New York for our July Family Birthdaypalooza. We had all three of our kids together--which is about a twice a year event these days--and had such a great time! They always do a great show, but this one was extra special with the whole fam.

Thanks for posting this thread. I have been trying to find an anniversary present (25 years) for DH, and he looooooves the Foo Fighters. Turns out they are playing here next weekend, and I just bought tickets. Not good seats, but better than not going
