1. We dropped DS off at his college 12 hrs away. I miss him. He left his childhood stuffy on my nightstand and it just broke me.
2. was eating breakfast this morning and crunched into something hard. Thought it might be salt or a seed (everything bagel) and realized shit no! It was part of my tooth! No pain but it freaked me out. I hate teeth stuff. I have a dentist appt in sept so they’ll hopefully file the rough part…
3. went for a walk this afternoon. Weather is great. Got to the corner to meet my friend and felt a pop mid-calf. I yelled out it hurt so bad. Tried to walk It off but couldn’t. Called DH but he was in the shower. A neighbor whom I’ve never met saw me struggling and offered me a ride home. I’ve been icing it and taking some pain meds. Will call the dr tmrw. I fell last nov and screwed up my knees. I think being in the car for 2 days for 12 hrs plus tons of walking one day to move DS in, I was super stiff and I needed to stretch and limber up and I didn’t. I’m so frustrated bc my knee pain has limited me so much and now this. And the weather is so nice 😢😢😢 I guess I should be glad it didn’t happen when I was in Europe or when I was moving DS into his dorm. I had a good cry and just hope the dr can see me ASAP.
thanks for letting me whine. 😢

I am sorry. That was sweet of your son to leave you his stuffy. Have a good cry tonight and hopefully tomorrow will be better.

That is definitely a lot for one person to deal with at once. I am sorry about your tooth and your leg, pain is no fun.
It will get easier with your son gone. I remember when my daughter went away to college I felt just gutted. But slowly things got better as I knew she was thriving at college. And I guess as moms, that's what we hope for the most for our kids.
Take care.

Sorry I am also having knee issues, and have a kid who will be going to college 7 hours away next year. Hang in there!

Sorry you had such a rough day. I'm hoping better days ahead will follow and that there is nothing serious wrong with your leg. {{{Hugs}}}

Wow, that is a lot. Hopefully your tooth is just something they can fill. And ouch on your leg, hoping its right as rain quickly. It's really really hard when just what you wished for your kid actually happens. Best wishes to him. When my son went off to college, I went looking for Whoopers and Salty, his favorite stuffies, and I couldn't find them, because he took them to college with him. I miss those guys. Now that kid is half way across the United States for his first job, and I miss him like crazy cakes. And yes, Whoopers and Salty are still with him.

What a few days you've had!
I can commiserate a bit. Fell down a couple stairs and thought I had hurt my ankle. Ankles fine, but I still have some puffyness there and my foot gets stiff. Reached in my back pocket to grab my phone and I now have stabbing pain in my pinky finger! LOL I have had this before, and it slowly works itself out. I know it's from how I hold my phone, with my pinky crooked around the bottom. I have to quit holding that way. But for crying out loud - why does everything hurt!

I called the dr and the earliest appt is 8/26! i asked to be put on the cancellation list. Took a lot of pain reliever last night and iced my leg. This morning I can flex it without pain so maybe it's just a pull and will heal with rest and pain meds... But I felt like everything was crashing down last night!!!

You need pampering and reassurance that your ds will be just fine. He's going to thrive and you'll get used to him being away at school. (((HUGS))). Give it a couple months and you'll both have adapted to a routine and you'll feel much better.

Give it a couple months and you'll both have adapted to a routine and you'll feel much better. I got a call from him on his way to lunch! He was meeting friends to eat and then meeting other kids to play basketball. It made this momma's heart VERY happy!!!!!

Oh you've had it rough lately! I am sorry. It's hard when our kiddos leave and then add teeth and leg issues?!! Hopefully you can get into the Dr sooner. The 26th is a long way away!

I completely understand the mixed feelings about dropping off kids at college. I want them to be independent and happy, pursuing their dreams, but I still miss them. One of my boys graduated and is working 8 hours away, another will hopefully graduate at the end of the semester and I'm getting ready to drop off the youngest next week. Hang in there, it does get a little easier.

That’s a lot for this week. 🤞🏻your pain goes away with rest. Try sitting outside to enjoy the weather.
