Good morning.
Dh and I are going to drop my car car off at the tire place on the way out to run some errands. We're going to do the errands we had planned yesterday.
Dinner will be air fryer fajitas w/our fresh peppers from the garden.
What's on your menu?
How is everyone doing?
**GypsyGirl**, how is your hubby doing? Do they have any idea about when he'll move to rehab?
sueg, how are you doing at home?
May today bring healing for those in need and happy moments for all!

Happy Thursday!
I'm just knocking out reports before I start on my social media posting today. Today is the chocolate shop and that's always fun to write for.
I'm taking my dad to the cardiologist today as a follow up for his low heartrate and BP. Hopefully, they can start to diagnose the reason. It could be some of the meds he was on which he's stopped taking but it will be good to follow up with his doctor.
Tonight, I'm having sloppy joes. Someone posted about them last week and that sounded good to me.
Hope you all have a great day!

It is so good to be home! I slept so well last night, just waking once for the bathroom. Our bedroom is in the basement of our building, so it is really cool, even on hot days. Today was a public holiday here, so DH was home all day. Our big adventure for the day was walking to the bakery after breakfast to get fresh bread for lunch! Tomorrow, my stitches come out and I can’t wait to wash my hair properly afterwards.
Dinner tonight is a dumpling feast. I buy different types frozen and we just steam whatever we need.

Just checking in to say hi/bye before I head out for my 4-day crop. Actually, I will probably come home tonight and then stay at the hotel for the rest of the weekend. I’m not all packed up yet, so that gives me another chance to bring the right stuff. But first, I have to stop at the DMV to renew my license before it expires on Monday. Because I like to live dangerously. I have to take the written test as I am over 70 now. Pray for me. Dinner will probably be The Habit (burgers, salads) or Mexican.

lucyg , I just edited what I wrote because I read the DMV website and you do have to go in person every 5 years. I took the test and renewed online at 60 and thought you could do same. You can fill out the forms online and save time there. Have fun w/the apathetic, irritated DMV clerk who is biding their time until retirement. Maybe, if you're lucky they won't bark at you. I'll send you the link.
Enjoy your crop and have fun!!!! sueg , how is your energy level? Sounds like you're healing well. I'll continue to think healing thoughts for you.

om goodness.. good luck on the dmv test. you might review online info for the test first lucyg..
best health wishes for all!! I am back in the thick fog and getting gear together more today.. including getting out clothes. I'm packing for three different activities on this trip so it is a bit of a challenge.. and I can't take too much cause I have to fit three people's gear in the car.
leftover thai food for dinner. back to the store for a few last things. my dd and her wife arrive tonight!!!! yeah!!! I haven't seen liz for three years? dd came up for her grandfather's memorial service and again for her grandmother's memorial gathering. I think I am just going to let them use my bed so I don't have to deal with the blow up bed for a couple of nights. I'll take the couch.

Thanks, scrapmaven and ntsf. I am studying the driver’s manual PDF. Don’t want to rush these things. At least I should get a new photo out of this deal. The old one is really horrendous.

scrapmaven - energy levels still a bit low. I had to remind DH not to walk too fast on the way to the bakery. Both yesterday and today I have had to fight the urge to nap in the afternoon.

Tonight, I'm having sloppy joes. Someone posted about them last week and that sounded good to me. That was me! We didn't end up feeling hungry for dinner that night (me and my mum) so she is coming over later today and we are having them for dinner this evening! So far today I have taken out the garbage, donated bottles and cans to a girls soccer club (the mum picked them up from my patio) and gone for a few groceries ... That is very productive for me! My mum needs to choose some new frames/glasses today because the ones she has hurt her behind one ear ... I'll be meeting her at the optical store this afternoon ... I need to be there or she will choose something hideous!

sueg I am so happy you are home and well on your way to a full recovery. scrapmaven I have been meaning to ask what games you play and what are some of your favorites? I need a new hobby. (Not) But I’m always looking! lucyg Enjoy every minute of your crop weekend. Sounds like so much fun. I returned from my mom’s yesterday. I took her on several jaunts to get her out of the house. That always perks her up. Today I took the dogs to get groomed and have been catching up on house stuff here. Dinner is grilled chicken and pasta salad. I’ll take it to DD’s as I haven’t seen baby Norah in a week. I’m in withdrawal.

I got my hair cut this morning, changing styles a wee bit in anticipation of hearing aids. Then I ran several errands. lucyg , have a blast at the crop. I renewed 3 or so years ago when I got my Real ID and had to take the test. Good luck! I'm assuming you already have a Real ID. Judy26 , Norah is adorable! Oh, and not to brag, but I got Wordle in 2 this morning. (I guess I am bragging!) This must be Sloppy Joe's Thursday as that's what we're having too!

lucyg , good luck with the DMV. A girlfriend had to do the test last year and had been warned to read through the booklet a few times by other friends who didn't prepare and didn't pass the first time. I still have the original 18 year old, very decent photo on my CA license because my last renewal, which was supposed to be done in person for a new photo, got messed up by Covid closures. We had to renew our passports this year and I hustled to get them done before my hair fell out. I finished cleaning out my closet and have another couple bags to be donated, so might do that this afternoon. I also have a couple things that need to be hemmed and want them done professionally, so will swing by the alterationist while out. DH pulled apart the dryer to instal a couple new sensors and declared it not worth fixing. He's also discovered no one keeps inventory in the stores so he can't pick one up anywhere today and the best he can do is order one for deliver. I'm not sure what is for dinner. I know I had a plan when shopping the other day, but am blanking out trying to remember. Maybe I can convince DH to make burgers. Judy26, thanks for sharing the photo of your adorable peanut!!! Those eyes!

cadoodlebug, WOOHOO! I got it on the first try yesterday. That was pure luck. Tearisci and Judy26, I forgot to answer Tearisci yesterday. I play DDLV on my Switch, but it became redundant. So, I finished Hogwarts Legacy on my PC. Based upon yds's recommendation I've just started Baldur's Gate 3. I played a wee bit of D&D in the 70's and it's similar, but there is a learning curve. DH and I are going to start It Takes Two on the Switch. I have a gamer family.

Super tired today. Dinner for DH is soup and chicken. For me a sandwich. :-) lucyg hoping your experience is better than this:

leannec are you going to pick out some cute glasses like you have for your mom? Unfortunately, no ... the pair that bother her are similar to mine ... she needs some that are lighter. I'm just not going to let her get "old lady glasses", kwim?

It’s been a quiet day here. DH went ATVing with a buddy on a trail about an hour from home. He just called to say he was in his way home so he’ll be here just before supper.
Our small town is celebrating its 150th birthday this year and there have been all sorts of events lately. This weekend is a major musical festival that begins tonight with the country venue. The main act is Josh Ross. Over the weekend, there is Tom Cochrane, April Wine, Sam Robert’s Band. All Canadian acts which is very cool. We live close to the venue so will be able to enjoy the music from our deck.
Supper will be pulled pork fries.

Dd3 and her friends were here last. She left it cleaner than I do 😂 Tearisci I hope your dad just needs his meds tweaked Dinner is a sheet pan of kielbasa, broccoli & peppers with salad. Enjoy your dd & wife’s visit ntsfJudy26 beautiful baby! Love that meme cadoodlebugtaylortroop I never heard of any of those performers but it would be nice to enjoy them all from my deck like you.

**GypsyGirl**, how is your hubby doing? Do they have any idea about when he'll move to rehab? Popping in for a quick update. It's been a busy week but DH is doing very well. They have started weaning him from the ventilator to supplemental oxygen. Yesterday he went 6.5 hrs and today a little bit longer! They are also stepping him down off the steroids. All in prep to get him transferred to a LTAC/Rehab facility. Very hopeful that will happen next week. After PT today he told me that every day he feels stronger so that's good to hear! Biggest news is that today they added the voice box to his trach! No more writing notes and just being able to talk! He's excited about that. Of course, with the ability to talk comes more things he wants me to do! I was up there early today because I had to take the dog to the vet this afternoon. Due to the timing it didn't make sense to go back down there so I was actually home for the night at 4 pm! It's been nice to catch up on some things around here and just relax a bit more. Dog has been having issues with a claw that keeps breaking off and bleeding. This has been going on for a few months now and vet wants to do surgery to remove that claw. Will discuss with DH tomorrow but I say we do it. I'm tired of dealing with it and cleaning up after him every time he bumps it or chews on it too much. Dinner tonight was a baked potato done in the oven. Since I was home early and had the time I thought why not! Am not a fan of potatoes baked in the microwave. It was a monster potato so I had half and will make cottage fries later with the other half.

I already had issues with waking up and staying awake during the night before the surgery and I don't want to make it worse. In the hospital, I was napping a lot during the day and then awake half the night.
