Wishing you an awesome school year! And no covid.
My dh just had it, and we have no idea where/who it came from. All he had was a slightly scratchy throat. It came up on his Covid test the second the first drop hit. I did not get it. 😁

Ugh, sorry to hear about the covid! It's really going around in my area (Northern Virginia), and I'm expecting it to be even more now that most schools have started back up (yesterday for most, and next week for a couple of counties).
I hope you recover quickly!

Hope you feel better soon! I was sick for 5 weeks in June/July, right after returning from travel. I did mask. the first two weeks there is no way I could have worked, I had zero energy and a crushing headache. Hoping you do have the really mild case, Katy!

Apparently this latest variation of covid is VERY contagious--plus, my niece is still testing positive after 5 days. Her physician told her some people are testing positive for 10 days!!
OP, sleep well and take care of your self!

OP, sleep well and take care of your self! You can actually test positive for up to 90 days, you’re most likely just not contagious at that point.

Ugh. I had it 5 weeks back. Fever lasted for 9 days. I felt totally better after 3 days then I lost my taste 😂. My fever was 103 for 2 days and then it went down to 100 for the next 6/7 days. I was so pissed.

I hope you feel better soon! I tested positive this morning. So far my symptoms are basically a cold. I've messaged my doctor about Paxlovid, since I am 66.

I tested positive yesterday. It's really going around here. I've managed to avoid it for four years. Sigh...
Doctor prescribed Paxlovid for me, hoping it helps.

Day one for me felt like I do when I get my vaccine… fever, chills, shakes, nausea, headache, body aches…plus sore throat, congestion and cough (that I don’t usually get with the vaccine). It was pretty miserable and I don’t remember much of it! Yesterday, I felt pretty good—mostly just cough and congestion. Today, the cough is really bad (but productive). All in all, I feel like it’s moving pretty quickly. They “say” this is a milder variant (or that we are just more immune). I hope yours stays mild!! Boo Covid!

And I have tested positive too. Damn it. All I have is a stuff nose. It feels like my annual allergies, but it's a few months early for that. If dh hadn't just had it, I doubt it would have occurred to me to test. The Dr did send a Paxlovid script to my pharmacy, but she recommended I not take it unless I got more symptoms.

Dang! The peas are “spreading the ‘vid” thru the message board! 😂
I hope everyone who has it is feeling better soon! For me, this new variant was way less bad than when I had it Christmas 2021.

Paxlovid did help me, 2 years ago, so I requested it again yesterday. Be prepared to need some Immodium and breath mints or other hard candy. I had diarrhea and an awful metallic taste in my mouth.

That's what I have - The metallic taste. I hope it goes away. I'm on Day 3 now and am feeling better, fever is gone. Was surprised to find out that the Covid tests are not free anymore - had to shell out $35 bucks for four. Have to test before I'm allowed back on campus.

You couldn’t get them through your insurance? I just ordered some a month ago snd I could get tested in person at least I assume they can. They still ask about symptoms before your appointment. I hope everyone has a mild case and back to normal soon.

I had to send someone to pick them up as I'm still quarantined, and they didn't ask any questions.

I’m so sorry for everyone who has stupid Covid right now. I hope it is mild. Be careful out there guys… this flirt variant is HIGHLY contagious and evading the vaccine.

katybee don’t be hard on yourself. It’s out there. Does everyone at school know you have it? Also, I’m sorry. Hope you’re feeling better soon! I think I shared it with my DD’s piercer. I know I shared it with my immune compromised DH. Neither of my kids got it.

They just announced that at the end of September, households will be able to order 4 free kits through the government. It is too late for some of you, but I hope everyone here gets well soon!!

It is so important to wear a mask when you have been exposed. Unfortunately, very few people are doing that and very few are testing correctly when they are sick. And now that the guidelines are pretty much to do nothing and protect no one, Covid is going to continue to be a serious publi health issue that impacts many people severely. My hairdresser's husband passed away in July from the effects of long covid, which he had in 2020 or 2021.

I heard on the news the federal government is going to start offering free tests again late next month. link

katybee I don't know when you posted update #2, but I am hoping you are feeling better! I tested negative on Tuesday, so 1 week after my first symptoms. I did take Paxlovid. I'm mostly isolating for a few more days. I feel 99% better. I still get tired pretty quickly. I hope everyone else is better, too.
