Hoping someone here can help me. I'm looking for a good, black, walking sandal. I want it to be practical but also nice looking. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Inexpensive and non-trendy but these Skechers sandals are so comfortable I have them in two colors. I’ve walked miles and miles in them with no issues. a.co/d/3Tda5MT

I have two pairs that I like. Chacos and Tevas. Chacos This style which does come in a black strap. Tevas This exact pair. I like color and these are so cute. I wore them after a day of hiking and they felt so good. I explored Pamplona in them with no problems. They can definitely be found in black. I will say, my feet needed to adjust to the Chacos. A lot of people that wear them have said that. So if you are getting them for a trip then I would suggest getting them ahead of time to get used to them.

I can get this style in Australia. My feet love Skechers. Are these these really sparkly? Unfortunately, I can't get the other Skechers ones here, nor the Chacos.

No, it's more of a subtle sheen than a sparkle.

It’s a toss up between my Tevas and my Taos sandals. I have one Teva because they are sportier looking, but two pairs of Taos. The vamp of my foot is rather tall and I like the adjustability of the Velcro.
I have The Show sandals in teal and Beauty in white. My Tevas are too old to be on their site, but the footbed is similar for them all.
I also have two pairs of Taos Freedom sneakers and their Ringer combat boot and love them all. The boot is still stiff though, even after a few years and isn’t always good for all day, but it is weatherproof.

I have a different version of Taos sandals, but I agree- they are super comfy and have held up incredibly well. Super well made!

Thanks for all the input. I ended up with these. They were the most comfortable in the bunch (I have some foot issues while I wait for surgery). Sandals

I cant wear Sketchers for long. They hurt my back. I have ECCO sandals that have been all over the world with me. My sister swears by TEVA.

You can just step in them. I love them when I pick up my grandkid from daycare. I have to remove my shoes, and I can just step back into these while holding him. Never need to use your hands to slip the straps on. Go Walk Skechers Slip In

More city walkers than hikers, but I absolutely live in FitFlops all summer long (and have winter ones as well). Anything w/ the "microwobbleboard" tech/footbed has great arch support, is cushioned for good hard surface walking without being TOO soft, and works well for wide feet. I have probably 20 pairs (buy them on sale/clearance!) and they're my go-tos for everything, including an annual festival where I'm on my feet for nearly 20 hours a day several days in a row.

An ad for Taos Big Time sandals just popped up on my Facebook feed. They look really good! If I had more time (and more money!) I would buy some for our trip next week. They're $140 AUD on Amazon and $170 AUD from the Taos Australia site. I am going to keep my eye on them, and see if they're cheaper next Prime Day or Black Friday.

Chacos Z2 wide width. Wonderfully comfortable for walking or hiking or kayaking.
ETA: I got in on a yearly 30% off deal to customize my Chaco with different patterns and buckles to choose from and they make me happy every time I look at them.

So... how many of us who are not the OP ended up buying sandals from this thread? I ordered the Sketchers that Librarylady linked. Shhhh!!!!!! I ordered the ones Darcy Collins posted for my trip to NYC the week of Labor Day and 'maybe' a pair or two of Skechers ( I think my feet look stupid in sandals that dont have the toe (flip flop strap, not sure what it would be called) So I was excited to see some on this tread. I might have bought to many pairs
