Hi, y’all! We are fixin’ to start major renovations on our home. One thing we’d like to do is replace our dishwasher while we have the countertops torn out.
We have not purchased a dishwasher is over 15 years. What would you all say is the best one for under $1,000?
Thank you for your help!

I would suggest also checking with your credit card. Some have insurance policies to double the warranty up to an extra year.

We recently got an LG. It’s working well so far. I think most of them at Home Depot were under $1000. ETA that they were having a big appliance sale when we got ours so maybe the regular prices were more than $1k on some. They said they have two big sales a year—Memorial Day and in November.

Love our Bosch, and it was very reasonable. We got it through Costco (I think) either that or Nebraska Furniture Mart. I was nervous we wouldn't be able to afford it, but was pleasantly surprised.

Bosch
They have some models that are not as $$ as others. Worth every penny.

we like our cove one too (but expensive) Same here but prior to that we had a Bosch and a Miele. Both of those were excellent machines as well.

I have what was then one of, if not the, cheapest Bosch. It is 17 years old and still going though I admit I only run it about twice a week, doing dishes by hand the other days. It's very quiet.

I'm on my third Bosch over the years, just purchased one at the end of May. If it helps, I purchased model SHP65CP5N (small condo-sized kitchen, specifically need one without a protruding handle) and before sales tax and installation I paid $1039.00. Have fun shopping!

We gutted our kitchen from the floor to the ceiling. The only thing that came back was the Bosch dishwasher. It is quiet and cleans well.

Another vote for Bosch. Ours has a top rack for silverware and it's a great feature.

Yet another vote for Bosch. We got ours installed in March or April and I remember thinking we wouldn’t use it much since we hadn’t used one for years. It runs 4-5 times a week and I love it!

Awesome! Thank you all so much. It’s rare that the Peas are (almost) unanimous. So, we’ll be looking at Bosch! That brand was top on our list to look at, so we’ll just stick with that!

I'm not sure how much it would cost, but I love my Bosch, especially the 3rd, top rack.

I'm not sure how much it would cost, but I love my Bosch, especially the 3rd, top rack. The tiny little one for lids and things you don't want to lose? My husband loads and unloads our dishwasher. Whenever I can't find a lid, I go looking in the dishwasher. Yup, it has been there for multiple washes.

We are also looking for a new dishwasher. What are some must have and not needed bosch features to consider?

We are also looking for a new dishwasher. What are some must have and not needed bosch features to consider? I especially like how quiet ours is. Our kitchen is adjacent to the den and I can run it with no noise to interfere with the TV or conversation. I believe all Bosch are that quiet. It has a red light that glows on the floor to indicate the washer is on. Another feature is that plastic items on the bottom rack won't melt. I never use the drying cycle because I let things air dry. Some people are annoyed at the length of the wash cycle. It is long, but the dishes are CLEAN-- spotless clean.

Sometimes I can't even tell if it is on. While I appreciate the red light that glows, I do wish there was a timer countdown. We have a lower end model, so maybe the higher end models have an actual clock on theirs. But knowing how much longer is left would be handy. We pre-rinse our dishes, so we usually set the "Speed 60" option, which is an hour long instead of two. The dishes are very clean and HOT!
