I’m having a good day. The sun is out, it’s warm. I talked to all my kids this morning. I went outside and walked around. I fed the birds, picked (and ate) a few strawberries, and watered my hanging basket.
Dinner tonight is chicken legs, baked potato, and salad.
I didn’t sleep great last night and I was up for 4 hours. I’m hoping tonight will be better.
Sounds like a lot of us are having a quiet day, nice isn’t it!!

Hello from PA! We’re in between storms right now. I’m sitting on the porch enjoying the cooler weather but another storm will soon push me into the house. I ran some errands and did some chores. Soon I’ll meet up with DD and her family for dinner at a local club. I'm making a quilt for son and DIL. My regular machine was very cumbersome so I used my Amazon points to buy a mid level quilting machine. So now I need to practice on it before I continue with the quilt. That should keep me occupied for a while. Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

Yes butter tarts are amazing, too. The local island grocery store makes excellent ones. They are amazing. I love how my joints don’t hurt anymore by not eating sugar and grains. If I have to choose one or the other steak wins. The Nanaimo bars are for the kids to snack on. Since my gastric bypass, I can't eat a lot of sugar so dessert of any sort is out for me ... I no longer miss it ... OK, I miss ice cream!

Oooh, Judy26 a new quilting machine sounds like fun! What type did you get? Enjoy! jeremysgirl, one of the times when I visited my DDs in Portland, we went to the Bobs Red Mill store - it was heavenly! We got breakfast there too and it was very good! Oldest DD came home with a boatload of stuff. I had flown out so couldn't take anything back with me; although I can buy a lot of their products here. (Love the thick rolled oats!) Not sure what we're having for dinner tonight - maybe pizza. There's a new place near our new house that my SIL recommended, and they do a GF crust. BUT we are exhausted and sweaty/grubby from doing 2 more trips in cars to get loads of awkward-to-move stuff from the other house, and to meet the movers on both ends. We have one more trip tomorrow, to get the last of it (in our car(s)) & clean out the fridge, but other than that we are done with moving. Now we have approximately eleventy billion boxes to unpack...LOL. Also its our wedding anniversary LOL. But neither of us feels like going out, so we'll see if the new pizza place does take-out/delivery.

Happy weekend everyone! We are continuing our dud summer - it is currently 59 degrees. Ugh! I'd be asking for a refund if I were you paget ! We got up to 22C (71F) last week, which was lovely for winter. But alas, it was short lived, and yesterday it was back down to 14C (57F). This time next week I will be lapping up the sunshine in Thailand - it's 32C (90F) there right now. I hope your hand is starting to feel better now KelleeM . jeremysgirl yes, I think you have a problem haha! Mind you, it looks like a healthy problem. If I were to pull stuff out of my pantry, it would be multiple different types of salt, sugar, vinegar, oils, and soy sauces. Your 'collection' looks much healthier! cadoodlebug your meme is, sadly, very accurate. I mainly sleep on my right side, but whenever I wake up during the night I have to do the rotisserie flip because my hip is hurting. In my mind I still feel like I am in my 20s or 30s, but my body is betraying me. Happy anniversary Mr & Mrs scrappinwithoutpeas ! What number are you up to? leannec it is hard to make friends at our age. The last time I made new friends would have been when my son started school, and over time we became friendly with the parents. We'll be travelling to Thailand with two of them next week. And before that, it would have been friends I made at work. (Pssst: I don't actually want any new friends, I don't have time for them haha!) DSO and I went for a drive out to the winery region yesterday, which is only about 20 minutes away. DSO got a voucher for his 50th birthday - back in February 2022! - for a dinner, accommodation and breakfast package. It's worth about $600 and was due to expire in February, so we thought we'd better get off our bums and book it. Then we went to a pub for lunch. The meals were big, so we didn't end up eating anything for dinner.

(Pssst: I don't actually want any new friends, I don't have time for them haha!) But you would make space for me if I moved to Australia! (I won't because you have scary reptiles and bugs!)

It was a quiet day for me. I did a small load of laundry and sat and worked on a puzzle the rest of the day. I finished and can't wait to get started on my new one of the Dallas Cowboys. I need to start getting my things ready for our vacation but just haven't been in the mood for it. We are leaving to NY on Wednesday for a week.
Dinner was fried chicken with coleslaw and mashed potatoes.

I rode 15 miles this morning...FINALLY a day when it is not stifling hot with god awful humidity...I enjoyed every minute of the ride. I will try for another ride tomorrow. I went to AAA and picked up my Euros for my upcoming bike trip, and made a couple more stops on my way home, including a Starbucks stop for my iced coffee!!! Dinner is grilled ribeyes, baked potato and a side salad. Okay, I have missed this story! Where and when are you going. Do you use electric bikes? Can't wait to hear about this adventure! I am headed to France on vacation next week, We are headed to Avagion to bike down the Rhône . We have done several Eruropean tours with Woman Tours out of Rochester NY. Amazing tours…Great way to see the country! So we bike during the day with a local guide and 2 reps from the tour company. Accomadations are on a barge on the river. Amazing accomadations and fabulous food!! So looking forward to this trip😎

We've been married 33 years today! And yes, we ended up going to the pizza place. It was good, and I have some leftover for tomorrow. win-win! Also meant to respond to cadoodlebug's meme - count me as a regular in the nightly rotisserie bunch too. Even more so since we've been packing/unpacking and doing a ton of bending and lifting.
