Hi everyone! After having so much fun last weekend during my "Staycation" this weekend is pretty much the total opposite ... no plans, nothing to do. My post on Facebook today sort of relates to this: My girlfriend bailed on me last night but wants to get together tonight ... I'm tired of being a doormat but I'll probably still say yes I have a few things to list on Facebook Marketplace today ... I seem to be having good luck selling on there lately so I'm hoping to keep the momentum going ... I have way too many handbags. Dinner will be dependent on whether I am alone or hang out with my girlfriend ... the chances of me cooking are pretty much zero. How is everyone feeling today? The Birdhouse Lady? How are the dh's feeling today? **GypsyGirl**? How are your parents doing today Tearisci? Your dad Delta Dawn? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Good Morning! leannec I understand the let down after a big weekend. We were in Nashville and went to a concert last weekend. This weekend is filled with grandkids soccer games. Sorry your girlfriend bailed last night. Working on my PL album before we head to the games. Looks like it could rain. Ugh... Hope everyone is doing good today! Dinner will probably be rechauffe spaghetti.

Good morning! Happy Saturday. We are continuing our dud summer - it is currently 59 degrees. This morning I am working on my December Daily (Christmas scrapbook) from last year. Dh is out doing errands. When he gets back we are going to work on some home improvement projects together. Dinner with be steaks with mushroom sauce for Dh - I am not eating mushrooms), corn on the cob, and baked potatoes. I am also contemplating buying flower bulbs from a local sale - I have not done amazing growing actual food but the flowers I planted this year (dahlias) DID grow. Maybe I just need to lean more to flowers.

My granddaughter is here for an overnight stay and ds said he wants to make baked mac and cheese for dinner since it’s a favorite of hers. This means we have to make a trip to the grocery store. There will be broccoli with dinner and perhaps a protein.
I slept very poorly and not long enough last night, am nursing a sore hand (had a cortisone injection and am trying to adapt to wearing a brace) and have zero energy. Hopefully ds will be up for driving today although he’s still not comfortable on the highways. We can go the long way around.

I hope everyone is doing well today. I had a good night's sleep but I'm still a little disappointed about the concert last night. I might go quilt for a while. I need a shower too. They say thunderstorms today but it's still sunny out there. I'll have something for dinner. Who knows what? Jeremy said he wanted to just forage tonight. I have sandwiches and cowboy caviar. He also brought me "chicken" tenders and tater tots. Haha...so I could have that too. You know why I like my indoor farmer's market so much? They have the biggest selection of Bob's Red Mill products around. I cleaned out my cabinet this morning. I think I may have a problem.

We are having a quiet weekend. This morning was our big weekly shop - we drive to the butcher and supermarket, so we stock up on the heavier items - and then after lunch we went for a walk that just happened to take us past the gelato shop. DH had said yesterday he’d treat me to an ice cream after my stitches came out, but we finished later than expected so just came home. We’ve had football in the TV all afternoon. Our season starts next week and this weekend are the lead up games - round one of the German Cup. Our team played last night, so today was just fun watching with no stress over results.

Happy Saturday! Took the parents to breakfast this morning at our new local place. It's expensive but the food is good and the portions are crazy. They're both doing well (thanks leannec for asking!) I'm going to see the new Alien movie this afternoon in a cool theater as it's supposed to get to 106 today. I hate coming back out to a hot car where I can barely touch the steering wheel. Oh the joys of living in Texas. No idea what dinner will be tonight. I'll be snacking on popcorn during the movie so we'll see what I feel like. Hope you all have a great day!

leannec when do you go back to work? I would think school is starting soon. The regular teachers (including Emma!) start back up on Monday, August 26th and the students start on Thursday, August 29th ... I'm not going to accept any jobs until after the long weekend so the soonest I will work will be Tuesday, September 3rd. It's always so hard to get back into the grind but at least I will be subbing ... a million times easier!

DH and I just got back from a 3 mile walk ~ mid-60s with a nice breeze! I'm continuing to clean out my craft room/office and listed several items on Buy Nothing yesterday that were picked up. Dinner is undecided so I'm heading to the library and Raley's in a bit.

leannec , are you sure that you're getting more out of that friendship than you're putting into it? You deserve a full friendship w/sisterhood and a partnership. Just make sure that you're happier w/her in your life than you would be w/her out of your life. I know I overstepped, but I want the best for you. It's very exciting that Emma is joining the teachers. You must be so proud. jeremysgirl , our local market near my house sells Bob's stuff and it's so convenient. You can also get it on Amazon. Dh uses Bob's for his keto stuff. sueg , sounds like you're doing a bit better each time you post. I hope you'll get your ice cream this weekend. Tearisci , if you buy milk duds I'll high five you. That used to be my favorite movie snack. I'm sure my dentist was thrilled, too.
We just returned from our local farmers market. It was busy today. Dh got some fresh corn on the cob and salad. Though, I think our corn on the cob is ready. He thinks there might be a problem, so we have to pick one and look.
Dh doesn't know what he wants for dinner. I suggested tarragon chicken, chicken Florentine or TJ's bbcue teriyaki chicken. I'll let dh decide.
Today is a slow day, but I'm still tired after covid, so I'll relax. I have a puzzle that really needs to get finished, too.
Enjoy the day, my lovelies.

KelleeM, I hope that your hand feels better, quickly. I had a cortisone shot in my shoulder last monday and it took about 3 days, but I can finally move the shoulder w/o pain. I feel almost drugged and wonder if it's a side effect of the stupid steroids? Enjoy your day w/your dgd.

Nothing happening here today. Lots of events going on around town to celebrate the town birthday, but none that I’m interested in. DH went to the car show this morning as my brother has my dad’s old ‘67 Ford convertible and he takes it to various car shows. Other than than, just puttering around the house.
Yesterday my walk with my bestie was relocated due to rain. We ended up walking in the mall and then of course, doing a bit of shopping.
We are going out for supper tonight just not sure where yet.

cadoodlebug, I edited the post and added my stuff after you had posted. Apart from splitting the atom, I'm not doing much. taylortroop, walking the mall is a great idea on a rainy day, but a bad idea for your wallet.

if you buy milk duds I'll high five you. DH used to buy a bucket of popcorn (and give me some) AND a box of Milk Duds. I used to eat the popcorn for my lunch since we always went to a matinee. Then I would race to pick up DS at school. Those days are long past!

I realised as we were eating dinner that I forgot to tell you what we were eating. SH is always on weekend cooking duties if he’s home and today he made tacos. The meat mix was from scratch, just using spices we have on hand and then he made small corn tortillas, also from scratch. They taste so much better than the packaged ones we can buy at our supermarket. I am now stuffed full of deliciousness.

I am definitely pulling the weight in this "friendship" ... I'm very conflicted right now ... ugh! Emma is super excited to have her first real classroom and be a regular teacher ... nervous, but excited!

leannec It's hard when friendships feel one-sided. I really don't have any friends where I live and hang out with my siblings whom I'm really close to. I've had friendships like yours in the past and it gets hard being the one who calls and makes plans all the time. I hope you can get some resolution or insight into how much you want to continue to do.

I could have chicken or burgers for dinner tonight. There are vegetables and salad to go with. There are no hamburger buns here so we could go get one for Dad. There are Nanaimo bars in the freezer if anyone needs something sweet to eat. They are from M&M and not bad. Costco’s are better. That said they come out at the end of November so have a limited time run. They are wonderful, though. Have any of the Dinner Peas had a Nanaimo bar?

I rode 15 miles this morning...FINALLY a day when it is not stifling hot with god awful humidity...I enjoyed every minute of the ride. I will try for another ride tomorrow. I went to AAA and picked up my Euros for my upcoming bike trip, and made a couple more stops on my way home, including a Starbucks stop for my iced coffee!!!
Dinner is grilled ribeyes, baked potato and a side salad.

The local island grocery store makes excellent ones. They are amazing. I love how my joints don’t hurt anymore by not eating sugar and grains. If I have to choose one or the other steak wins. The Nanaimo bars are for the kids to snack on.
