Hi everyone! Posting early because I am, of course, meeting my mum soon at Denny's for breakfast! Two poached eggs and a side of hash browns with some hot black tea for me this morning! I have made a decision about my girlfriend ... I am going to let that friendship go ... she was a mess yesterday again and I just can't keep going through the drama ... it's going to be hard but it will be the best thing for my own mental health ... sigh! I don't have much planned today ... change the sheets and duvet cover on my bed ... hate that! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... it's totally me ... it would take months for me to learn the names of the students in my classes ... I'm terrible! I'm going to my mum's retirement residence for dinner tonight ... they are serving roast beef with Yorkshire Pudding! Yum! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Happy Sunday! I'm sure that was a tough decision to come to leannec. Sometimes, friendships just run their course and fizzle out when they no longer work. I didn't sleep well last night so I'm just home peaing and watching some cooking shows. I started a thread about dinner recipes so I'm hoping to get some inspiration for the week and working on my grocery pickup order. Needless to say, I don't know what I'm having for dinner! I need to do some cleaning this morning so maybe I'll start a 15 minute challenge thread as well. Hope you all have a great day!

We had a thunder storm and my dogs are scared of thunder and lighting so it wasn’t a restful night. I saw the dinner inspiration thread - thank you for that! I have to meal plan today and grocery shop and am feeling uninspired. Dinner tonight might well be something from that thread. Today will be more home improvement, scrapbooking, and meno planning/grocery list making and grocery shopping. Have a good Sunday, all.

Happy Sunday! Having a slow morning before I get ready and go spend the afternoon with DH. Trying to get all the healthy food options prepped/ready so I don't have to think about meals for a few days. Mostly salad stuff and making a batch of tuna fish for sandwiches. I like to eat mine stuffed in a toasted pita bread. Also need to stop at Central Market for fresh fruit and bread later today.
DH is doing well and was kicked out of the ICU yesterday! He was moved to a step down unit in the Neurology tower last night about 6:30. We've still got a long way to go before he gets back home, but we'll take any and all progress. They will start more PT this week and trying to build up his stamina. Hopefully in a couple of weeks he'll be ready to move over to the rehab facility. The Myasthenia Gravis really does a number on him if he tries to do too much too soon. Main goal is to stay out of ICU. 37 days total was plenty.
Absolutely no idea what dinner will be. DD was thinking about coming over after she visits her dad so she can drive his car some, as well as take his dog for a ride. I'll firm up with her and maybe grab something at CM on my way home.

Headed out shortly to go look at a new dog kennel. The wonderful person who is taking care of Harper for many years plus my dog before that has his kennel up for sale. But before that can be sold he had a massive heart attack in the airport in Minneapolis. So he’s home and doing well after major surgery but he’s completely closed it. There’s a couple others around here. I won’t ever take her back to this one. Highly recommended to me. It’s run by a former vet tech at our veterinary office. leannec I had a friendship of over 25 years ago about 10 years ago. Some things happen that made me realize she was not a friend and never had been. It was a tough email to send and the only reason I didn’t email was because she had sent me one and I replied to it. It was hard but boy was my life filled with less drama and lies. But it is hard to do.

**GypsyGirl** that's wonderful news. I tested negative late last night but I'm sure I will test positive soon. I developed a low grade fever last night and 100.7 this morning and feel awful. DH has been fever free for 2 days and is higher energy again. We both will test again early afternoon. I'm thinking some kind of ramen for dinner. I picked up a miso ramen at Costco that looks great. I also found some organic everything bagel chips that are down right addictive. Today I will sleep and stream an Italian series on PBS.

leannec , It's hard to let this friendship go, but when you let the bad friendships go then you open space for a new, must healthier friend. As lonely as you might be, maybe this will inspire you to step out and meet more friends who can return your friendship. She's going to be shocked and be prepared for her to cry and get angry. Just remember that this is 100% about your well being. Her drama is her story and it is not your problem. Good for you for taking care of yourself. Go celebrate your strength. **GypsyGirl** , It's good news that he's going to a step down unit and that he'll start the next phase of healing. You've all been through so much. Sounds like you're taking really good care of yourself while you weather this storm. ((((HUGS)))). Tearisci , I'll have to go look at your thread in a bit. I, too didn't sleep well. Oh well, tonight is a new night. paget , have you looked into Thunder Shirts for your doggies? I know someone who swears by them for her dog. They're supposed to really help calm doggie down and help him/her to feel safe. I hope that both you and your furry buddies sleep much better tonight. christine58 , I hope that you find a great kennel for Harper.
Marina, I truly feel for you. I'm still a bit tired after having COVID. Rest, take care of yourself and pamper yourself, too. I'm sending fast healing thoughts for you. We're gonna go for a walk soon. Then it's a quiet day here. There's a football bame later and dinner will be Chinese chicken salad. Enjoy today, my lovelies.

leannec I'm sorry about your friendship. It's hard when we let someone go. I did the same in January to some one who, before Esther died, I thought was my best friend. I just couldn't pretend anymore. Tearisci I recommend a library card. Every time I go to the library I check out a new cookbook. Seriously they have so many. You could literally have a new book weekly.

Marina ramen actually sounds like it would be a good food for a COVID infection. Kind of like the Asian version of chicken noodle soup. Big hugs.

I just can't get it going today. I feel so sluggish. Like I could go right back to bed. I wonder if I am coming down with something. Either that or I'm just feeling lazy. Someone please give me a kick in the ass. 🤣 Do not tell me to rest.
With that said, I have been just nibbling like a rabbit all week. I feel like I need a real meal tonight. I should pull out the cookbooks and see what I can find. I do have some broccoli and asparagus that needs to be eaten.

I also have holds on new cookbooks the library is getting. I make a note of cookbooks that I found a lot of great recipes in so I can buy either the hard copy or digital. It saves me a ton of money because it can be a guessing game if it will be a hit or not. I currently have: King Arthur Baking School Eat like a legend (a dud for me) Milk Street noodles (this was a hit!!) Joyful ( jeremysgirl vegan!!) Milk Street 365

It’s a cloudy day but humid. I was just sitting on the deck looking at the weather app and it said “rain will begin in 4 minutes”. I laughed out loud and thought yeah right. Seriously just a couple minutes later, it was a major downpour! It lasted about 2 minutes and was over. So weird!
Nothing happening here today. I’ve been to the grocery store, vacuumed and threw some clothes in the washing machine. I’m hoping to get a walk or bike ride in if it cools down a bit.
We planned to go out for supper last night but my mom offered to buy Chinese food. It was delicious and even DH, who says he doesn’t like Chinese food, liked it and wants to order it again sometime.
Not sure about supper tonight.

I’ve been awake since 3 and up since 4:30. I’m all showered and have some laundry going. I’m going to lay down for a bit and if I can’t sleep I will go to the grocery store. Not sure what dinner will be. My dh should be home by then. **GypsyGirl** such good news about your husband!!!! @leanne sorry about your friend. You’ve held in there a lot longer than most people would. I’m proud of you that you have realized enough is enough.

We just got back from our Sunday walk. Although it was only 2 miles, there were two major hills so I'm beat. I ended up walking 15,000 steps yesterday so that could be part of it. I'm afraid to try Wordle because I know I'm going to break my *2* streak. ETA: I got it in 3.Dinner will be Tomatillo Pork with zucchini and a fruit salad.

leannec - I am sorry about your friend, but it is probably for the best in the long run **GypsyGirl** - yay for progress for your DH. I hope it continues Today I decided to brave going to church. It was good to see everyone again and especially our priest, who has been working at a university in Pennsylvania for 4 years, but comes back each summer. He is headed back this week, so it was good to catch up with him before he left. Of course, this left me really tired, so my afternoon has been knitting on the sofa with football on TV as background noise. Dinner tonight was Southern style chicken, with coleslaw and avocado. I am going to do my best to take things easy for the next week or two, but I will start making dinner as DH will be back at work. I think we are set with ingredients for the next couple of days, so at least I won’t have to go out to the shops.

cadoodlebug , 3 is good. I didn't get the word today. It was, imho a tough one. sueg , I'm glad you were able to see your priest. If you aren't up to cooking dinner each night then feel free to let dh pick up takeaway. Rest and heal.

Well, no success at the Kennel I visited. It’s way out in the middle of nowhere. Most of my trips are in the winter and it’s just 45 minutes south of here where snow really hits so it’s a no. There were some things I didn’t like about it also and I just didn’t get a really good vibe back to the drawing board

[/quote] I don’t want to complain but this just really sucks. If it were just low back pain I could deal with it better but, it has involved both legs. My right leg to the knee has pain and tingling and the left is all the way to the ankle. My lower leg from the knee to the ankle is numb but I feel pain on the inside. Resting helps but sometimes not. The best position is upright. I do a lot of laps around the house in the middle of the night. That’s probably more than you bargained for! 😉 I’m done complaining! XOXO

Hi well father has Covid so he is doing nothing for the next week-ten days. I am testing negative for now thank goodness. Hopefully I stay that way. leannec I had to do that with a friend but she came back and said she understood how I felt. I just needed a break and it took a year but we are back together. Dinner for father will be poké and I am having smokies and green vegetables.

The Birdhouse Lady , you have every right to complain about this level of pain. You can't sleep well and you're in agony. This is a safe place to come and share. I'm sorry that you have to suffer so badly. I really feel for you. christine58, it's hard to find a trusted sitter for our furry friends. Have you asked your vet's receptionist if they recommend anyone?
Delta Dawn, I'm thinking healthy thoughts for you. I'm sorry to hear that your dad has covid.
