What a shitty thing to say.
Besides, most democrats I know are excited for this convention ( more excited than they expected to be a month ago ) and the mood is pretty positive - not shiva like at all. If you this excited at/for shiva that’s pretty unkind.

I agree that this was a terrible analogy. I was watching CNN and did hear that comment. My understanding was that she was comparing sitting shiva to the convention if Biden were still the candidate, as opposed to a very excited and optimistic feeling now that Harris is the candidate. That is the impression I got from watching CNN, but still a bad comparison.
