I go through this every fall. It's very difficult to find a nice flannel duvet cover with a nice modern floral print. Most of them look like they've been around for years and years. And beige backgrounds. I'm looking for something crisp with a nice sophisticated floral pattern. Any ideas? I'm in Minnesota and some trees are already turning a bit.

I wonder if you could find the material you like at a fabric store, and have one custom made?

Have you looked at Amazon? They must have something like that!

I would purchase 2 king size flat sheets and sew them together to make a duvet cover. You can buy a long zipper or make the button part separate (so that this can be removed and used again in another set) and sew this on the side where you inset your duvet.
I have made several of these for a friend's B&B. I have a very long zipper, about 36" that I could send to you, should you require it.
Just straight sewing. I would also pre-wash the sheets so that you are not dealing with the shrinkage factor that flannel fabric has. Good luck.

cuddledown or company store might have something. After years of looking we just replaced our duvet cover and found it at Ikea of all places. but I wanted cotton.

These are links to flannel duvet covers. There just aren't many modern florals out there in flannel.
The Company StoreGarnet HillLL BeanRifle Paper Co. has some great modern floral prints and The Company Store carries several of them. Unfortunately, they are not flannel. Any chance you could just use flannel sheets for the warmth instead so that you could have the style duvet cover you want? Rifle Paper Co at The Company Store

I ended up sewing one myself when I wanted something like that for my weighted blanket. JoAnn’s sells extra wide flannel fabric for quilt backs that I think is around 100” wide, that’s what I used to make mine. If you can find king sized flannel sheets in a pattern you like, you could use them too.

LL Bean, Lands’ End, Eddie Bauer, and Kohl’s may be some options. I love the cosiness of flannel. I bought some sheets at Kohl’s 2 winters ago when we first moved to Minnesota and I love them.
You will probably see more options in the next two months as the winter stuff comes out. But I’m not sure about floral.
