Sorry to hear your DH has the crud scrapmaven!

I took today off as a mental health day and I didn't sleep well last night so there will be a nap today. I'm taking my parents out to lunch and then they may hang out over here because their AC isn't working. They've left several calls with their maintenance people and they haven't responded. It's going to be 100+ again today so they definitely need it.

Tonight is the draft for my fantasy football team so I've been scouring lists and trying to come up with a strategy. We do it strictly for fun and bragging rights. No money or prizes are involved. I won last year so I've got the pressure on to do well again this year.

Just waiting for grandboy # 1 to get home from a buddy’s house. We are going to pick him up and head into the city for lunch and to do some errands.

Last nights Chinese food was delicious and always fun to catch up with the group.

Tonight’s supper will be steak with mac and cheese.

Something sure is going around illness wise. I know so many that are/have been sick.

Tearisci I like the heat but even I couldn't handle 100 degree heat with no A/C. Hope they get it fixed soon.

Nothing exciting here today. I am doing laundry and a bit of cleaning. I just got back from a long walk. Need to run to town and get a few things that we couldn't find last night.

Dinner will be beef tips.

My mum is coming over for coffee soon and will pick up the Scrabble game ... she invited my aunt over to her place on Friday for Scrabble and dinner  

Now if she could only convince my aunt to move into a retirement residence like my mum's!  She is even older than my mum and refuses right now!   


Then later this afternoon I will be joining ladies from my condo building for our monthly "Afternoon Tea" ... we just bring our own beverage and someone bakes and brings it (not me!    ) and we chat for a couple of hours ... most are retired like me and older than me but it is fun!   


It is cooler outside today so I may actually cook dinner!  I have the ingredients for veggie fajitas so that's the plan right now!

scrapmaven- I'm sorry DH is feeling under the weather but glad you were able to reschedule your getaway!

It's been a bit of a hectic week, but it 'tis that season.

I'm taking my car to the dealer today for a windshield replacement tomorrow, This is 3rd time it's been replaced in the 3 years I've had this vehicle. I swear there is something magnetic in them to attract stray rocks. And of course, all of the cameras have to be re-calibrated and set up each time. I also have a hold to pick up at the library.

Dinner will be chicken thighs and zucchini, I'm not sure how I'll prepare these, but they both need to be used.

scrapmaven I’m sorry your get away got postponed. Is your husband a good patient? Mine is kind of a whiner so I’d almost rather be the sick one than take care of him.

It’s chilly here and I hate being cold. I’m trying to stay off of social media as I tend to while away hours and get nothing accomplished. As soon as I finish this post I’m off to conquer my to do list. I think cookie baking is going to the top of that list!

I worked today and was able to scoot out early, as I am going back to cover part of the night shift tonight as the 7p-7a RN has an early flight in the am.
I am just waiting for the new mattress and box springs to be delivered, as I intend to christen them with a nice long nap. I slept badly last night, and since I am going back at 11, I will need a nap.
I am excited about our new bed...we are going from queen to king!!

I am also excited that I have 2 more sleeps before my vacation...cannot wait to get on that plane on friday.

So I am having the salad I didn't eat for lunch along with rechauffe salmon for dinner , and DH will have rechauffe steak, potato and a pork rib...Clearly I have no intention of cooking tonight!!

Just popping in to say hello.

Dinner tonight is going to be a whole chicken roasted. It is cold and rainy here and I am in need of some comfort food. Not sure what else we will have, i'll figure that out when I get to the store.

I agree, I knew I was going to eventually get a positive because I had all the same symptoms DH had plus loss of taste (which I got both times and he never did get) but I started testing on a Friday (when I started feeling unwell) and didn't get a positive until the Monday morning.

I put all my clothes in a pile in the spare room last weekend, then had to wait for DD to bring my packing cubes back. I'm going to pack properly tonight, when I am certain of what I want to take. DSO, of course, is taking only a carry-on bag. I will have a carry-on bag and a big suitcase. I plan to buy a few more summer dresses over there, so I want room in my suitcase.


I used to make Katsu curry years ago. I could have sworn that DSO told me he didn't really like it, so I haven't made it for about ten or more years. Then when DSO and I went to a pub for lunch last Sunday, and I had a Japanese curry bowl. DSO said "I love that Japanese curry you used to make!" Um, what? So when I get back, I will buy a block of the curry paste, and make it again.
