I never ate any of his products (well, I tried one once, but that was it) but that was still very interesting. I knew noting about him until now. Thanks!

Speaking of Chef Boyardee, yes my DS ate the assortment, warmed and cold...
But another story... Years ago I was sending packages to a Marine while he was serving in Iraq. (Psst, he was a chef....)
Anyway, he requested cans of Chef Boyardee. Loved those flat Flat Rate Boxes... Up the 70 pounds could be sent in them. And the cans never made the 70 pounds. But they stood up and filled more then a few USPS boxes. I think they were only $10+ at the time.

Wow this sparked a blast from my past-- About 25+ years ago we went to Branson Missouri with our kids who were about 4 and 5. We went to this family diner place, non-fancy, etc. The kid's menu had ravioli and my son said that was what he wanted but he wanted to ask the server a question. He asked her who the chef was which was an odd question. I don't remember what the server answered but she asked why. He asked if the chef was Chef Boyardee! We've razzed him about that one.
(It probably was Chef Boyardee)

TFS! I never knew anything about him.
As a 51 year old adult, I still love a can of his beef ravioli for lunch or dinner on occasion. I'm so sad that I can't ever find beef ravioli on any Italian restaurant menu that I've eaten at. I'd so love to try the "real stuff", but they only ever have cheese ravioli and as I don't like cheese at all, that's not an option for me. Have any of you found a beef ravioli on a restaurant menu?

They served it for lunch at my elementary school. I thought it was gross. The sauce was so sickly sweet. I ate bread and butter those days.

I used to love the pizza mix, back in the day when there were limited choices on frozen pizza. And no pizza delivery places.

When I was little, the neighbor boy and I used to make each other Chef Boyardee for lunch. We'd have a little lunch date of raviolis at our respective homes.

I grew up in an Irish Catholic family - do the math: Chef Boyardee was our "italian" haha.
I don't mind it - but we don't eat it now!

I used to love the pizza mix, back in the day when there were limited choices on frozen pizza. And no pizza delivery places. Yes that was what our family used for pizza night when I was a teen! My own kids loved the Chef Boyardee ravioli when they were young, and it was a quick, easy lunch. We were actually talking about Chef Boyardee this past weekend and someone said that their mom would add it to cooked ground beef and that was her version of spaghetti bolognese.😄😳

Chef Boyardee was the only spaghetti we knew,so we liked it. I don't think I have thought of it in years.

The building I used to work at in Downtown Cleveland, many many years prior had his restaurant behind that building. It was a part of the building I couldnt ever imagine as a restaurant in todays sense of the word restaurant. (and I am sure in the 100 plus years there were redesigns of the building)

My mom used to "make" many of of the products when we went camping. It was easy to open and heat them meals in our travel trailer. My favorite into adult hood was the Macaroni & Cheese in the can. It always felt like there was only one long noodle in the can!

I used to love the pizza mix, back in the day when there were limited choices on frozen pizza. And no pizza delivery places. As an 18 year old, that is how I made pizza when I moved away from home. Until I actually found a good pizza dough recipe and the sauce recipe. Still use that recipe to this day. The pizza mix gave me confidence that I could make pizza so I'm happy for that!

I have probably eaten his brand somewhere, someplace, but I know my mom didn’t buy it. And because my mom didn’t buy it, it was not something I looked for when I became an adult/mom. Meat ravioli is common in restaurants out here. They will have both cheese only and meat-filled options.

Just curious so I found some boxes of the pepperoni pizza kit on ebay. Anyway, the sodium is only 33% of your daily requirement.

I was raised by hippies and didn’t have much sugar, no processed food, no pop. But my friends had Chef Boyardee ravioli and I loved it! I still eat it sometimes.

Another raised by hippies, so no processed foods and I don’t think I’ve ever eaten Chef Boyardee.

Have any of you found a beef ravioli on a restaurant menu? No, but there was a place at the beach that had lobster ravioli. It was amazing.
