Welcome back to the best games in town ~ college football 2024!! This thread is just to get us hyped up as the games really start next week. My LSU Tigers will face off against USC on Sept 1st in Las Vegas. We had thought about going to the game but the heat and ridiculous prices made me realize we can just watch it in the comfort of our bonus room! Who are you cheering for this year?  |

Hotty Toddy!!! Ole Miss is starting the season off ranked at #6. I really hate when they do that because I feel like it jinxes us. First game is at home and what I call a 'gimme' game against Furman. While I understand the reasoning, those game are typically pretty boring to watch. Hoping for a good season! cadoodlebug - We have a good friend who is meeting his son in LV for that game. He's one of our more 'rabid' LSU fan friends. His poor wife - she married him thinking she was safe in football season but then A&M joined the SEC and football season is tough for her! Can't wait for the SEC Shorts weekly videos to arrive. In the meantime, another fun watch is Matt Mitchell. |

I am so excited for college football to start. It's going to be extra fun this season as my boyfriend and I are complete rivals. He's an Alabama fan and I'm an Auburn fan.
Auburn plays Alabama A&M at home. WAR EAGLE!!!!
I'm bummed that both Alabama and Auburn play at basically the same time, so we are going to have to have two TV's set up. Maybe it will be more fun that way though.

TCU has had two crazy years, back to back. From the highs of 2022, to the lows of 2023. Actually, very typical for college football. Good luck everyone. Go TCU. 💜

My DD is at Univ of MD, and my DH got season tix to football - so I will actually be at the UMD game on 8/31, but its a noon so I think I should be home in time for the AU game... except I'm not sure where I'll be able to watch it! UMD is Big10 and AU is SEC, so I feel like those games are on 2 different networks.... I went to JMU and I think the Dukes are in a really good conference this year...! |

Michigan plays Fresno State at home. Getting excited!! Me too! DH is a Michigan Alumni and I graduated from Fresno State. When they announced this match-up a few years ago, I swore we would be at the game. But life gets in the way and so we will be watching it from home (in Tennessee). It will be interesting to see how Michigan does this season. I will miss Harbaugh for sure. Since we live in Knoxville, it's the law to be a Volunteer. I'm excited to see how our new QB will do. They have him on a pretty high pedestal. |

I think I should be home in time for the AU game... except I'm not sure where I'll be able to watch it! UMD is Big10 and AU is SEC, so I feel like those games are on 2 different networks.... If you go to the Auburn Football website you will see the schedule for the season. Currently it shows what network will air the show through Sept 14. The first game is shown as ESPN+/SECN+ |

I forgot we have a few college football games today. Currently Ga Tech is leading 21-14 over Florida State early in the 4th quarter.

I'm drinking the kool-aid that is Nebraska Football...always have, always will. This year feels different, but so have past years so I'll have to wait and see...
Also cheering on the D2 team my son is part of. He's a redshirt freshman, but still doesn't have a jersey number so it's not looking good that he'll get to dress or even play this year (again--doesn't help that he's a defensive back and there are a ton on the team). But he's happy at the school and it's a great fit for him academically, plus he's made some great friends on the team, so it's all good.

Well, the luck of the Irish was in Ga Tech's favor as they kicked a last second field goal to beat FSU. I had forgotten the game was in Ireland. Going to be a long trip back to Tallahassee for the 'Noles.
