Then on the way back to the resort, we stopped off at a street vendor selling banana pancakes. So fun! You sound like you are having a ball! I am envious!

It’s been a quiet day here. Worked for awhile but I can hardly sit today. Yesterday I felt great. I got to see Hudson yesterday. My heart is full!! Dinner tonight is burger patties, cheese, pickles, avocado, and tomato. We also have some fresh cantaloupe! Yum!

However, I bought a cute functional backpack awhile ago thinking I could use it as my personal item but it’s too big. What do people use as their personal item? I don’t carry a big purse but I do have a crossbody purse like thingy that I could take but it doesn’t hold things like a change of clothes or water bottle, etc. Not sure about a tote bag, smaller backpack, etc. Everything I’ve looked at is too big! I'm not familiar with this type of backpack but am assuming it is too big to fit under the seat. IME, airlines are getting strict about the personal item fitting under the seat and will remove personal items from the overhead to fit other passengers' carry-on bags. Three of four family members take a backpack as their personal item. I use a zippered leather tote. My small crossbody bag fits in it easily when boarding, along with my electronics, snacks, toiletries and anything I need with me. I'll often gate check my carry-on bag so still keep the essentials with me. Sorry to hear about your MIL, littlemama. Sounds like she was more injured in the accident than originally thought. Eeek, The Birdhouse Lady! I'm very envious.

AussieMeg , that banana pancake looks delicious. Did you bring enough for the entire tribe, young lady? Enjoy all of the local cuisine. taylortroop , when I fly alone I have my luggage sent ahead, since I can't manage a big wheelie and a walker and my two feet. You can have luggage shipped to your boat, too. For my carry-one I have a small spinner and a baggalini tote that fits over the handle. Both things fit nicely under the seat.
The Birdhouse Lady, Hudson is just adorable and you are so pretty and such a happy grandma.

Another cool rainy day today, so I stayed home and putted around on the computer. We are going on a late ‘summer’ vacation in the first week of October, so I was doing a bit of research. We’re driving down to Italy - Venice and Merano - as I have restrictions on flying for a bit. Dinner tonight was Thai green curry with chicken and vegetables. I wish I could drive to Venice. Such a great city. We did not go to Murano this time. Maybe next time. We are going to MErano, not MUrano after Venice - though we will probably do a day trip to Murano and Burano from Venice while we're there. Merano is a spa town at the foot of the Dolomite mountains in the South Tyrol region of Italy. It is interesting as it was once part of Austro/Germany and many people there have German as their first language. All of the street signs in the town are in both languages, so you have Via del Roma/Romstrasse as an example. We plan to be 'touristy' in Venice, then relax at a spa hotel in Merano
