I know many of us have been happy-footing waiting for this to be available already. I've been wondering for some time now if there was some sort of intellectual property issue holding it up.
I noticed this weekend that there is now a little "patent pending" on the item (which is still "coming soon" of course...).

Interesting about the patent.. ..I wonder what is the difference between this Sb.com and the AG Empress magnetic ones. Are the AG ones patented, thats why I don't see anything like it?
The AG Empress magnetic mat is great. Its thick and magnetic on both sides and no warping after using it for months.

A couple years ago we got a magic mat in our Crop & Create box and I've never used it. I really need to pull that out and try it. I would totally get a magnetic mat for my Platinum 6. I just hate that their shipping is so expensive.
I'm actually crossing my fingers hoping we get one in our C&C box that is being shipped this week.

I received an email from SB this morning saying the magnetic one is now in stock. I'm thinking about trying it but haven't completely decided.

Now that I have an Empress with a magnetic mat, do I really need one for the Platinum?
I'm thinking I'll mainly be using the Platinum for embossing, and glimmer and betterpress. Someone help enable me to buy one, or to skip it. I have a SB dot com order ready to go, waiting for a Labor Day sale (can you believe it's already THIS weekend) there.
