I also purchased and read the kindle version after this post. It is a very compressive and well done book. This may be because I have never know anyone personally that is in the military service or worked for the Federal government, but one of the most surprising things to me is how long and convoluted the position titles are for so many people in government. Goodness. It's hard to tell who is doing what.

Since this has popped up again, I'll just say that I purchased the Audible version after reading all these post. "I will NOT cry," I told myself. "I think it will be a very emotional book, but factual enough so that I can get through it without crying!"
I turned it on as I headed out for groceries a couple days later. Listed to the forward and thought "Yes, I think this is going to be an exceptional book. Glad I bought it." And THEN the actual book started and the astronaut asked Earth "How is everything down there this morning?" And when he was told, he shifted his viewpoint to where he could see both the Twin Tower and the Pentagon--and started relaying what he was seeing." And it was right there, just a few pages in that Miss "I AM Not Going to Cry" started sobbing and the tears continued down her cheeks all the way down the Interstate.
In my defense, I was alive when it happened and I, like almost every American that day, spent the day in front of the television not believing the horror!
Great book!
