is only $1.99 on Amazon. It is probably the best book written about 9/11, and should be required reading for everyone, in my opinion.

I don't keep a lot of books and donate most of them to the library soon after reading. That one has stayed on my shelf. Good reminder to re-read it as we approach September 11.

Damn, it's $13 here (still fairly cheap, but not $1.99 cheap!)

I read it last year, from the library. It was really good.

One of the best books I have ever read. Every perspective provided a little more insight. I cried at so many points. Everyone should read it.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like to read about it? I lost 2 friends in 9/11 and I just find it too hard.

I'm sure if I were in your situation I would feel the same. Even though it was one of the most shocking things I've seen in my lifetime, I still read and watch documentaries about it. I think that distance makes it easier to read about, for me. I'm really sorry about your friends.

I'm listening to it on Spotify. It's only my second audio book but I'm glad I chose it. It's so heartbreaking but so informative. I will probably buy a print copy eventually.

The audio version is incredible. It has actual recorded conversations with 9-1-1 and air traffic control.

Probably not the best book to read while I’m waiting for my flight out of Newark to head back home. But I’ve added to my wishlist for another day. Looks really good. Thanks!

Thanks for this, I just ordered it. I don't typically buy books for the Kindle, but I figure this would be a good one to have. But as others have said, I will have a hard time reading it. I absolutely cannot watch a movie about the day. The audio version mentioned would be rough for me. I've been to both memorials/musem in NYC & PA. Listening to newscasts they have there from the day puts me right back there. I did not know anyone in those buildings, but watching it unfold on TV while home with my 1 yr old - & then the days after with no planes in the sky (living close to an airport) - yeah, that was a truly awful time.

While not living there on 9/11, my brother was working in Mid-town and my Sister in SoHo on that day. It was way too long before I heard from both of them. I can’t read about it or watch video. However, after a long time of not wanting to visit the memorial, I finally went on a visit home. It was peaceful and comforting, almost like a cathedral.

It was a long day waiting to hear from people. My brother in law made it out. Other people I know did not. My best friend worked at the Pentagon and when I called her to tell her what happened we were in the middle of the conversation when the phone went dead. She made it out but I didn't hear from her until much later. I watched all the coverage I could that day but nothing since then. I haven't been to the memorial and I only stopped avoiding lower Manhattan within the last 2-3 years.

should be required reading for everyone, in my opinion. edie3 - just wanted to thank you for letting us know about this. I got the book on my Kindle but ending up taking a long road trip so I also got it on Libby to listen to on the trip. It was an incredible book and I agree that it should be required reading. I just wanted to thank you for bringing it to our attention.
