Good morning.
Today is supposed to be a bit cooler and that's a good thing. I'll be indoors puttering and working on my puzzle. Dh made pizza last night and he'll make another tonight. He makes very small pizzas and w/fresh basil he's enjoying margerhita pizza.
What's on your menu?
How is everyone doing today?
AussieMeg, your photos of meals yesterday were so tempting. The dishes are served so beautifully.
What's on your agenda today?
Let today bring happiness, good news and calm for everyone.

Happy Wednesday!
I woke up to finding out my garage door had been open all night and when I went to close it this morning, it crashed down so I'm waiting for the guy to come fix it. Of course, I have a grocery order to pick up and some errands that I was going to do at lunch that will be taking place later.
Tonight, we're going to bingo at our local tex-mex place and celebrating my niece's birthday so I'll be eating there. Hopefully, one of us will win at bingo!
Hope you all have a great day!

We're still in the 96° range today, cooler towards the weekend. DH and I are off to the pool. He does laps then sits in the shade to read his latest book. At noon I have a new-to-me Newcomer's group called Lunch Bunch. Twenty ladies meet at local restaurants and a few people have encouraged me to join. Dinner is whatever I decide when I go to Costco after lunch. This is pretty clever!

Good evening, scrapmaven - our weather is going the other direction. After a few days of refreshingly cooler weather, it is starting to heat up again here and should be in the 30s (Celsius) by the weekend. I wandered up to the grocery store this morning as I forgot one major ingredient for tonight’s dinner when I was out yesterday. I also wanted to redeem some coupons - our store is doing a ‘points for purchase’ where you get stickers for each €5 you spend, which you can redeem for animal figurines at less than half normal price. I decided they’d work as part of Lucia’s Christmas present, so I’ve been collecting and today bought 7 animals. Best bit - she gave me new point stickers for the amount I spent on the animals! She also gave me almost twice as many as I ‘earned’ on my regular shop, so I can now get another 5 animals. Anyway, dinner tonight is homemade ravioli. It’s vegetarian night tonight, so I madecc vs a filling of ricotta and Gorgonzola cheeses, walnuts and apples. The pasta and the filling are made and I’ll assemble them closer to dinner time. The recipe says to serve with brown butter, balsamic vinegar and Parmesan , which is easy.

scrapmaven - I am feeling better everyday. I seem to have turned the corner this past weekend and am nearly back to normal. I’m no longer on regular painkillers and I’m nowhere near as tired as I was.

We have terrible weather here today ... dark and wet and windy ... I don't plan to go anywhere!
I have so many programs recorded so I might make my way through a few of them ...
I will do some laundry as well ...
Dinner will be something from the freezer! Easy peasy!

Happy Wednesday! How is the week half gone already? The people who installed our raised bed gardens came by this morning for a fall refresh. Ripped out the old stuff that we didn't want to keep, added soil and nutrients and planted a few plants (cherry tomatoes, basil, arugula seeds and a rosemary). They will return in late Sept/Oct to remove the rest of the summer flowers/plants and plant our winter garden. Looking forward to having fresh veggies this fall!
We have gone into a rainy pattern where 50-60% chance of rain is on the 10 day forecast. Mostly it will be daily showers that we may/may not get. The good part though is that the nightly lows will be in the mid 70s! Much better than the 80's lows we've been having.
Absolutely no idea what dinner will be but a baked potato sounds good. May stop at Central Market on the way home since I am out of sour cream. Hope everyone has a good day!

Happy Mid week ladies! sueg Your ravioli sounds utterly delish! I'm also glad you've turned the corner and have your energy back! Be careful to not overdo it. **GypsyGirl**- I hope your day yesterday was better than Monday! What a tough day! I hope you are able to get some rest and sewing time! It's cooler but humid here today, DH is mowing the yard while I listen in on a conference call. My loud-mouthed busy body co-worker just spammed half of the company with a personal teams message saying " Johnny died late last night" (who happened to be her college roommates step-dad's brother- She's in her late 50's) But, We have a co-worker that has a 4 mo old baby named Johnny- Everyone jumped to the conclusion that this was who she was talking about. one top of this, her and I were on a call that we were told not to be multi-tasking. This girl drives me crazy! DH said Pizza sounds good for dinner, so I think we will pick up a pizza this evening. Works for me! But I might suggest Philly Cheesesteak for him and salad bowl for myself. Wishing everyone a great day!!!

**GypsyGirl**- I hope your day yesterday was better than Monday! What a tough day! I hope you are able to get some rest and sewing time! Yesterday was immensely better! DH did get on my nerves and I had to give him a tough love talk, but otherwise it was a good day. I'm only planning to spend about 3 hours up there so that I can stop at the needlepoint store (for threads for new canvases) and the grocery store. That should still get me home by 5 pm. Getting home by 5 has been a game changer for my energy levels.

Got back home yesterday afternoon from my vacation to NY. The week I was there was just not long enough. We went to the city a couple of times, visited with hubby's family and went out with some my friends a couple of nights. Now that I'm home I've had a busy, busy morning and looks like I'll have a busy afternoon as well. Doing everything I need to do indoors because it's too hot to go out for anything. cadoodlebug enjoy your lunch with the ladies. In our development we can sign up to go try out a new restaurant once a month. We've gone a couple of times and it was fun and gave us a chance to try something new. leannec my favorite time wo watch movies at home is when it's gloomy or raining outside. Enjoy your day indoors. For dinner we are having baked chicken with a vegetable.

Yikes, austnscrapaddict! I can't imagine the panic people felt trying to confirm if a co-workers infant died. It is gross to throw out a name with no context. I've decided to go back to intermittent fasting and cutting sugar to try get my evening snacking and psoriasis flare under control. I have a zoom happy hour so the dinner plan is a pasta bake (rotini with spinach, tomato, ground turkey and a cheese blend) made earlier and a Caesar salad. I pulled a serving of the veggie meat sauce before tossing in the pasta & cheese.

bc2ca: I do intermittent fasting. I don’t eat after 6 o’clock until about 10:30 am. It helped me shed 50 lbs and keeps my sugar levels under control. About every couple of weeks, I will have some popcorn as a night time snack but all other nights, I’ve learned to watch tv without snacking. I met a couple former coworkers for lunch today at our local food truck in the park. We had a wonderful visit that lasted almost 3 hours. DH thought I was staying for supper too! We had a major storm last night and it cooled down dramatically. The central air is off and the windows are wide open. No idea about supper yet.

Y'all need to stop with the ravioli and pasta talk. It's a miracle I'm not drooling on myself right now.
I talked (well, via the patient portal) to my doctor earlier because I was looking through the past year or so of visits with her and others, and looks like I've had around 3 respiratory infections, 3 instances of sinusitis, and a few ear infections in this year alone (not to mention, whatever caused the spike in the EBV test result, whether mono or something else). She suggested a CT scan of my sinuses (which is no problem, I've had them before) and to make an appointment with my allergist (which was an ordeal in and of itself).
Anyhow. Got the allergist appointment scheduled, waiting for the imaging order now, and ready to be done working for the day.
I am looking forward to Saturday, though. I get to see my other best friend and her husband. We usually go years between seeing each other, but this time, it'll have been less than a year. Last time we saw each other was when I was in her wedding. I am SO looking forward to it, even if it means getting up earlier than usual on a Saturday.
DH also surprised me by asking if I want to go to the Hudson Valley late next month. Uh, yes? We've only been talking about it for how long. He desperately needs a vacation and I am 108% on-board! 🥰🍂

My last houseguest (DD) left this morning. I love seeing her, but it’s been nieces, sisters, kids, one after another for almost a month now. Many meals out, more of them paid for by me than I want to think about. I need a food AND $$ break! Dinner appears to have been cheese and crackers and the last two pieces of See’s candy that DD left behind. Also there is roasted zucchini I can reheat for something green. Tomorrow I’m getting my hair done (color/trim). Praise the lord. And hopefully will get a grocery order completed that I can pick up on my way home from the hair appt. OH!! Farmer’s market after hair, it’s right around the corner.

Our friends arrived on the island yesterday, after having spent the last three weeks in Italy. They were craving Asian food, as it had been nothing but pasta pasta pasta (sorry rymeswithpurple 😆) for three weeks. We decided to have dinner on the beach at the resort restaurant again. Just as they brought out our drinks, it started raining, so we went up to the actual restaurant. We got a whole lot of different dishes to share.

We had popcorn shrimp in the air fryer for DS & I, and GF pasta for DH who doesn't eat seafood (plus the breading was not GF). (Boy that was some run-on sentence - can you tell I'm tired? ) We've been getting boxes unpacked slowly but surely, and hope to make a big dent in them over the 3-day weekend. Most of the boxes ended up in the right rooms, however we have/had a few glitches along the way. DH finally located all the boxes containing my shoes and hauled them up to our bedroom from the basement (yay) so I can wear something other than the 1 pair of sandals I left out and the slide tennis shoes that I can't wear until my blisters heal, or slippers. However, we've still got some sort of mix-up with shelves for a few bookcases being in the wrong places, and 2 boxes of books from DH's office that are also misplaced. We hope to get that sorted out in the next couple days too. All of these things definitely made it into the house, but got put into incorrect rooms when they were unloaded from the truck. (Plus some of the boxes the movers packed were not labeled as precisely as the ones we did.) Anyway, it's a work in progress!

lucyg, How are you doing? Was it a chemo week? You're very generous to your family, but it's OK. to leave your wallet in your purse. Enjoy the quiet, rest and relax. AussieMeg, wishing you an even more enjoyable day tmw. scrappinwithoutpeas, moving is not fun, but at least you're on the other side. Make sure that you're taking time to relax, too.

I've done 12 to 8 in the past and will probably go 11 to 7 this time. I've never been a big morning eater but the evening snacking has always been a challenge to stop. Somehow just having a no eating anything rule has worked. For me, IF has been the easiest diet plan ever.

scrapmaven, I am feeling well, thanks. No chemo this week but 2x baseball games and too much baseball food! Next week will be very busy again, with the holiday, chemo on Tuesday, a 3-day trip, and then an all-day card class on Sunday. boys5times, welcome (maybe a belated welcome?) to the dinner thread. Some of us might need that pasta recipe. 😘
