Good morning.
Dh will be painting around the new windows today and I'll be inside working on a puzzle. I was up a lot last night, due to some stress. My mind decided to dwell. So, I'm probably going to be tired when my body realizes that I need more sleep.
I'm contemplating making enchiladas for dinner. We shall see what dh feels like eating.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to this weekend?
We're not doing too much. Dh will be painting, since it's a bit cooler and I'll just putter.
Enjoy your weekend, my lovelies.

I'm experiencing some stress this morning too. I was trying to do something with my student loans and I think I put my information in a scam website. Ugh! Such is the way of the world these days, I swear. So I filed a report and locked down my credit and I'm just reeling right now picturing someone doing nefarious things with my information. I was just trying to apply for a change in payment. $#%&!*#$! So of course I'm catastrophising. Same as you, scrapmaven? I'm sorry you couldn't sleep. We probably both need to take a chill pill.
I've got another hour to work and then I'm out of here. I'm so glad because it has been a busy week and I need a break. Then next week will be busy too. And then we get to go camping for a week. It's the worst time of year to take a vacation work-wise. But it's when I need it the most. After the thumb twiddling of June and July, August-November really heat up.
I don't know what's for dinner. I'll see when I get there.

You've done the right thing by putting the freeze on your credit reports. You protected yourself. Do you know that it's a scam website? How annoying. NOt the way to start your long weekend. Well, you fixed what you could and now I hope you'll go and enjoy your time w/Jeremy.

Good evening
Last night, DH booked our accommodation for our upcoming trip, so we are set to go! I just need to research and book what we're going to do. My cleaner was in today, so that gave me some time to plan and set out a day to day schedule. We also had a call from Sophia and Lucia. This Sunday is Father's Day in Australia, and her school had a breakfast for dads and grandads, then some time for them to visit the classrooms. DS said she wanted to FaceTime DH from the breakfast - he had to explain it was midnight in Germany and Farfar wouldn't really be happy!
Fairly busy weekend for us compared to normal. DH had a 'go live' with work in the UK, so he has to be on call for much of the weekend and will probably need to go in to work for a bit. I will be out tomorrow afternoon helping with the first sorting of books for the English book sale I volunteer with. Not many people had signed up for tomorrow when I looked, so I signed up for 3 hours. If I get too tired, I'll come home and I'll decide after tomorrow how many more shifts I'll sign up for.
Dinner tonight is salmon. DH is marinating it right now and I have potato salad to go with it.

jeremysgirl , since your credit is frozen, don't worry about it as much. From what I've been told, all of our information is on the dark web so we just live with that and go on. Big hugs! Have a fabulous time this weekend! DS will be up later this morning so I'm heading to AquaFit. Can you tell how much I love it when I won't miss going? When he gets here, we'll go out for lunch. Dinner will be Tri-Tip roast with corn-on-the-cob. TGIF dear friends!

Good morning!! I don’t know what’s for dinner. Maybe will search my freezers because they are both bulging. Have a great holiday weekend, Americans and Canadians (I think?). Hope there’s some BBQ, potato salad, and pie involved. ETA phew! I just remembered, it’s my tomato soup + cheese curds day. My overstuffed freezers will live to see another day.

I know what it is like to be awake at night because of stress scrapmaven ! . I hope you can work through it ... I was up and down all night last night so a nap is probably in my future today! My mum is coming over for a visit in a couple of hours ... I need to take my garbage out before then ... Later, I will pick up some prescriptions ... I need to talk to Emma when she is done work today ... she wants to come over this weekend and take the lamp I had on my desk in my classroom to put it on hers ... I am also purging sweaters so I will give her a bunch! I'm craving a take out burger so that might be dinner! (I had big drama re: my so called girlfriend the other night but I won't get into it ... lets just say she is a mess and I need to distance myself from her)

cadoodlebug , did you experience hurricanes during your time in Louisiana? If so, what's scarier, hurricanes or earthquakes. At least you get warning w/a hurricane. Enjoy the pool and have a great time w/your son. leannec , you can lean on us and let us support you. It's hard to let go of a friendship, especially w/someone who leads such a challenging life. I'm sorry that you are stuck in her dramatic world. sueg , I'm being motherly, despite being about the same age. hehe. Please take care of yourself first. If you get tired then go home. Maybe don't sign up for any other shifts until you know how you feel after your first shift. Your only job is relax and take care of yourself. Sophia gets so excited about things. It's wonderful to view the world through her sweet eyes. lucyg, enjoy your yummy tomato soup. Have a fun weekend.

Talk about confused! I'm rarely at the dinner table this early. My MacBook says it's 1am on 31st Aug, but that's Melbourne time, it's actually 10pm on 30th August here in Thailand, and I assume it's the morning of 30th up there. I thought scrapmaven had put the wrong date for a second, I'm all discombobulated! But that's silly, scrapmaven never puts the wrong date on the dinner thread. We've just got home from dinner and the night markets. We took a songthaew to Fishermans Village, hoping to get a beachside table at the restaurant where they do a nightly fireshow. We couldn't get a table there so we ate a couple of doors down. We ate at the same place last year, and I've been dreaming of their spicy salmon salad for the last year. I had that again tonight, among various other dishes. On the way back to the resort, we shared a songthaew with six young kids in their 20s, from all over the world. None of them knew each other until they met here on the island. Oh to be young and carefree again! The guy paid us a big compliment, when he said we have the energy and vibe of people their age. (Mind you, earlier that night I tripped down the curb and "had a fall" as the old people say, and I have been hobbling around with a sore toe, sore ankle, a sore finger, and two sore knees. I might be young at heart, but tonight I am old in body!)

We got to go and see who all was in our classes then that night Betsy hit. We were without power for 10 days in that awful heat and humidity. We were out of school for 2 weeks because our HS was a Red Cross shelter. I have some funny/not so funny stories but I need to get to AquaFit. More later...

And yes, I’m not signing up for more before Sunday, so I can see how I pull up. My biggest problem - if any - will be if I need to bend down too often. But really - I have felt so much better in this past week - I feel the worst of it is behind me and I feel I need to start to ease my way back into ‘normal’ life again.

Happy Friday!
Boy, do I need a weekend!
I was up early and at the hospital before work to order breakfast and stay with my dad until my brother could be there. Poor guy has had many digestive issues and hasn't eaten much over the last couple of days. They said they were going to get him up and moving today so hopefully that will help move things along. I'm hoping he'll get to come home today.
I have to take the dog in for a heartworm test this afternoon and get refills on his heartworm meds. That will be an expensive trip! I'd love a second dog but I don't think I could afford one. Not sure how Gizmo would feel sharing me either. He's a one-woman dog.
Not sure what dinner will be tonight as life is up in the air right now. I've got options but we'll see what happens later.
Hope you all have a great day!

Happy Friday dinner friends! It's been a whirlwind week. Yesterday I read the thread but my attention was diverted before I could post. The sweet family friend that I mentioned a few weeks ago is still in ICU on a vent, but making some slow progress, He will have an additional brain surgery next week, after that they will be able to start the healing/rehab process and be able to get a gauge of permanent damage he may have and have to overcome. His sweet momma has been posting regular updates, she and her husband look so exhausted. Please continue to send prayers and good vibes to them. I worry about the journey facing them. jeremysgirl- Have an awesome vacation The scammers are so darned smart these days, none of us are immune from them. DH just left for the ranch for the weekend. He has friends joining him for the weekend. My first task is to clean and do puppy laundry. After that I have no plans other than to craft and do some to-do tasks. For dinner this evening I'm going to call a neighbor to see if she wants to do dinner. She has asked a few times and I haven't been available. Wishing everyone a great Friday and weekend ahead.

sueg, you are really an amazing woman. You're healing so well. Those little girls are probably the best encouragement for OMA. austnscrapaddict, I'll keep your friends in my healing thoughts. ((((HUGS)))). Tearisci, I hope that your dad is able to come home today. How are you doing? Are you getting enough rest? You could talk to your vet and get an opinion about bringing a 2nd doggie into the mix. Either that or adopt a cat friend for your dog. Cats and dogs can live well together. I must remind you that I never get the date wrong. The universe is at fault for setting a date and not letting me choose whether or not it is correct.

Happy Friday! Gloomy day here but no rain so far. Working my way through a long to-do list and paperwork this morning before I head to the hospital. Will have to stop by the needlepoint store again. Got my threads yesterday, but silly me thought I had enough stretcher bars to mount the new canvases. Had lots, but none the right sizes so will pick those up today. Really love this new shop - so helpful and very friendly. I also did some retail therapy yesterday before the needlepoint store. Ann Mashburn is one of my favorite shops and they had a special event going on. Stopped in to order a custom Western shirt (picked a beautiful blue/ivory Liberty floral) and ended up with some new fall things. A couple of dresses, new pants, and cardigans. Also had a wild hair and got a pair of leopard print ballet flats! Very out of character for me but they were very comfortable. DH has been bugging me to go get some new things so I was happy to oblige! Speaking of DH, he was transferred to the LTAC later yesterday afternoon! He's just 2 floors down but a whole different vibe. PT will be 5-6 times per week and they will be weaning him off the ventilator and air support. He was up to about 8 hours on supplemental oxygen only for the past couple of days. He is excited to get the PT going, as Covid taught him the importance of getting PT early and often. No clue what dinner will be tonight. There is a pizza in the freezer that has been calling my name for over a week now, so that might be what I heat up. DD has a 3 day weekend and will be happy to take the leftovers off my hands. She (and her dad) love cold pizza, while I am a hot fresh pizza only person. Hope everyone has a great weekend planned! jeremysgirl - Honestly, everyone's information is out there. The best thing you can do is freeze you credit and set up usage alerts on all your credit/debit cards.

**GypsyGirl** , so glad to hear that your dh is making progress and has been moved to an even better unit and will be focused on PT. Great job shopping yesterday. Sounds like you found some really cute stuff. Leopard print flats go w/so many different colors. If you put a pink or red flower on them that will add a cute pop of color.

TGIF! Decided to take today as a sort of sick day. I saw my allergist this morning (well, her PA, who was just lovely). She believes my chronic infections this year might actually be the result of an immunodeficiency, so she had me get a number of labs done, and also switched up my allergy pill and nasal spray.
I got those labs done and then treated myself to Panera for lunch. I'll spend the rest of the day watching Forensic Files and cross-stitching before I pick up DH at work. He had to switch his days on campus this week, and wasn't too happy about it. Hopefully the long weekend will do him good. We're also talking about some trips we're excited about, and I get to see my other best friend and her husband tomorrow. The four of us are going to go to the museum and then lunch.

No idea about dinner. I’m still in the process of purging stuff from my scrapbook supply stash. Did I tell you I found a place to donate it to? So I’m gonna make a trip there tomorrow. My mom was afraid she had Covid which she has yet to have. But she went to her doctor yesterday and she’s just got ear infections and sinus infection after three doses of antibiotics, she does feel better. Although she told me her nose was running really bad and she was sneezing and etc. lol.

(((Hugs))) scrapmaven and jeremysgirl - I'll join you both on the not-sleeping well/stress couch dinner tonight is baked garlic salmon balls, cucumbers, tomatoes, and ?? I don't remember what else I put on the menu - maybe tater tots? DD is home sick today - she was fine when we picked her up from school, started sneezing at dinner, and by the time we were sitting down at home for cake, she looked like death warmed over - she skipped cake and went to bed

Happy Friday!!! Lots going on with our dinner peas. Thinking of you all. Hoping that we all can have a relaxing and restorative weekend.
My big plans today are to order a shower chair, look into borrowing a walker, pick out a cute puzzle, and look for a new book. I feel pretty good today and now I’m in planning mode for after surgery.
Dinner tonight is take away wings!!! I’m excited about that!!

I’m on a road trip with my bestie. We’ve done some shopping and now she is visiting a friend who is in a rehab hospital following a major motorcycle accident. I’m sitting in the lobby of the facility and will read while waiting for her. It’s too hot to sit outside so I’m enjoying the cool air inside.
We had lunch at the Mandarin which is a huge buffet restaurant. Not sure that I will need to eat supper tonight.

Also had a wild hair and got a pair of leopard print ballet flats! Go you! I think every wardrobe needs a touch of animal print and florals. Shoes or scarves are my favorite way to add a little fun. austnscrapaddict, did they ever figure out what happened with your young friend? Virus? Infection? Will be sending the healing vibes his way. I did cross off everything on yesterday's To Do list which means I'm contemplating paint colors today. After yoga I moved two Expedits (4x4 and 2x4 out of the office into the hall which means I am REALLY committed to purging and painting the room. The mess is very visible from the entry/living/dining rooms and anyone walking up the stairs so I'm hoping gets finished in a week. Dinner tonight will be gyros and a Greek salad.

scrapmaven hope you get some sleep tonight. I was reading yesterday's thread and you asked what puzzle I was working on. It's a Dallas Cowboy Gameday Tailgate Puzzle that was given to me for my birthday. jeremysgirl enjoy your weekend ! I had plans for today but my mother wanted to come and spend the day with me and did that instead. I had ordered an exercise bike a couple of weeks ago and finally got it assembled today. We have a small gymn in our development but I just never make the time to go. Having one at home will be easier to use at anytime in the comfort of my own home. I'm hoping this will help exercise my knees. For dinner we are having a a baked potato topped with chopped BBQ brisket and sour cream.
