Hi everyone! I am doing some small things around the house today and running a couple of errands ... No plans for the evening ... I lead a boring life these days! This is what I put on Facebook today ... I haven't been eating well lately ... just grazing on snacks and eating a lot of crumpets with peanut butter (my fav!) ... I have Hello Fresh coming tomorrow in the hopes that it will force me to cook this week ... we'll see! No idea what dinner will be tonight! How is everyone and their loved ones today? I hope our tribe members on vacation are having wonderful times! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

DH, DS and I spent yesterday evening in the pool/spa at our sport's club. It was awesome. Very few people. This morning the 3 of us went on a hike that left me winded. Too many up hills! We will spend today watching golf (DH) and Big Brother (DS and me) and playing 5Crowns. Tonight we'll watch an episode of 1%. We love that show! Dinner will be pizza.

Good evening all.
Our morning was normal - grocery shopping - then this afternoon I volunteered to sort books for the local English book sale. There were two of us there who are/were junior school teachers, so we set about sorting all the kids books that had come in. D and I did the sorting into age ranges, then left it up to the others to decide on prices. I signed up for 12:30 - 3pm, and about 2:45 DH messaged and said he'd pick me up at 3:15, which was great as I wasn't looking forward to a 20 minute walk in today's temperatures. I've been watching football since, which hasn't required a lot of concentration.
I decided to treat myself this afternoon as well. One of my favourite knit designers does a 'Mystery Shawl' knit-a-long every year, starting in early October. The kits and pattern (intro - the 'clues' start Oct 3) went on sale today, so I ordered one in two gorgeous shades of purple, as well as a matching mohair. It should arrive just before we leave on vacation, and the first part of the pattern drops the day we leave, so I'll wind the yarn to take with me - lots of knitting time as we're driving.
Dinner tonight is marinated lamb steaks with a couscous salad. Dh has prepared it all and will start cooking son.

Happy Saturday!
My mom and sister are headed to the hospital hopefully to bring my dad home. They kept him one extra day so he should be good to go today.
I'm just hanging out and catching up on some TV and playing games. I did laundry and cleaned my kitchen this morning. I need to finish up my postcards for Kamala today so I can get those in the mail on Tuesday.
Dinner tonight will probably be turkey kielbasa with potatoes and onions. My dad likes that so I can take some to them.
Hope you all have a great day!

So I guess tonight will be the find-something-in-the-freezer-to-cook night. Probably ground beef as I’m feeling lazy. So unusual. ha ha

I did a quick grocery run and now I'm home for the day. I'm gonna work on my puzzle and chill. Dinner will be rechauffe enchiladas and salad. Not sure if we're watching a movie or just another episode of The Sopranos. Dh is painting and I'll let him decide. He was outside for 7 hours, painting yesterday and he is planning to the do the same today.
Enjoy your day, everyone.

Hello friends. I had a busy morning looking around Ludington. We found two areas so far where the real estate is affordable and we are willing to live. We also went for breakfast at an eat in bakery. And then we walked a few blocks to the yarn shop!!!! The yarn shop is awesome! For a LYS it has a huge selection. I was so very pleased. And then we walked a few blocks more to the health food store. It is not big but it has the things I would need to supplement the stock that a Meijer or Walmart carry for plant based eaters. Yes, even though I'm on sabbatical from plant based eating this weekend, I still plan to continue for a while. I have been sitting on the beach for the past couple of hours. I need to go find a bathroom soon. But the weather here today is just lovely. Tonight we will wander the town until we find someplace that looks good for dinner. cadoodlebug the meme! That's Michigan!

Hi everyone. My long weekend did not/is not going as planned. Tuesday at lunchtime at work my throat suddenly was sore and then as I had meetings through the afternoon I felt worse and worse and ended up feverish. I found an expired Covid test (expired Feb) and it was positive. I’ve never had Covid before so if the test can be trusted that’s what I have. Turns out it sucks. It wiped me out for Wednesday and Thursday, too and Friday also not great. Now today I am feeling much better … and now dh is sick. Sigh. We had tickets to something fun today, too. Oh well. That’s pretty much all the news from here. Turns out not a lot happens when you are stuck in bed sleeping. Not sure about dinner. I’ll See what I have around and what dh feels like eating and defer to what sounds good to him Since he’s the sick one now. Hope everyone else is staying healthy!

well.. I have been on a 2.5 week road trip with my daughter and daughter in law and we are still speaking!!! got in at 1 am last night and unloaded the car. dh and other child helped unload. they have one more week of vacation here before they fly back to new zealand.
we spent a few days at Mt Rainier in Washington state, hiking and camping. cold and cloudy. spent a few days with dh's great aunt, spent a long weekend at a waterfront GS camp on hood canal (rainy and cold with a little sun), then a few days with my brother and his wife. his wife only has a few months of life left (cancer). then camped at hot springs in Olympics, then backpacked on the wilderness coast for a few days. warm and sunny.. trail was a mud fest. squish squish. then drove south, one night in portland, and drove home. I have huge pile of stuff to clean, organize and put away.
happy to be home. have no idea what is for dinner. maybe takeout. making a peach cobbler with peaches off my friend's farm in eugene oregon.

Hi things are all good here on the sunny west coast (east coast of the island). Father is golfing and Dexter and I will go for a walk in a while.
I have lost 10.2 lbs by not eating sugar and carbs. The achiness is gone. I have nothing to explain other than lack of sugar. The truth be told I am not eating a whole lot. I eat tons of vegetables, dairy and meat. Everyone warned me about metformin so I decided not to take it (my choice as per GP) and watching what I eat makes the weight go down. I don’t feel deprived of anything because I love butter more than I do sugar.
Dinner tonight will be something good. I am sure there is meat in the freezer. I have tons of vegetables. I do need to get some tomatoes. Would sautéeted tomatoes and zucchini taste good? I think it would. I might make that tonight.
Happy last day of August everyone. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

paget - (((Hugs))) and yes I would trust a positive result on an expired test - I wouldn't trust a negative one. Hope you feel better soon jeremysgirl - I'm glad you're finding some areas that might work for you. Dinner here is the German Potato Salad I didn't make on Thursday

We’ve rented an air BnB with my SIL for 5 days in September. We met for lunch today to discuss groceries and meal preparation. Ultimately we decided not to buy groceries and eat our meals out. So much easier than hauling all the groceries with us- even if you grill burgers, you still need to take all the condiments. We will take some snack food and beverages but will eat the main meal of the day out.
We grabbed some groceries on the way home and now just relaxing on the deck. It’s a beautiful day here and I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend.
Supper will be grilled steak.

Went out for breakfast today, then a trip to Walmart to get things we needed and HEB to get groceries. It's been a long day.
For dinner hubby is having pizza and I am having chicken wings.

I’m just relaxing, watching tv, and napping. I did laundry earlier. Later I’m planning on cleaning out the freezer and plan some easy meals for post surgery.
Weather is cloudy and rainy. I hope it clears. My kids are going to the Whiskey Meyers concert tonight at the fair. It’s outside.

jeremysgirl, Luddington seriously sounds like it has everything you need! paget, I'm so sorry Covid finally found you. Hoping both you and your DH are fine by the end of the weekend. Great to see you back, ntsf, and sorry the weather didn't cooperate more for your adventures. taylortroop, I 100% agree with your meal plan for the get-away. I was off to a great start and have stalled a bit. DD's car is in for service so I let her borrow mine if she dropped me off at yoga. I walked home, which was fine, but then realized I needed a few groceries to go with DH's lamb and there are no cars at the house. Pivoting my dinner plans to what we do have, after finding puff pastry in the freezer, I decided to make my spinach pie filling and roll it with the pastry to make pinwheels. I'm very excited to eat these. DH put lamb on the outdoor rotisserie and I'll wrap potatoes in foil to cook along with them. Meanwhile, I'm avoiding looking upstairs at the office mess I exploded into the hallway. Things always look worst in the middle of a project, right?

Today just did some cleaning and for dinner we had leftover turkey. I did pick a spaghetti squash , tomatoes and herbs to make a dish to go with it. It's one of my favorite recipes for spaghetti squash but due to Covid I don't have a sense of taste so couldn't really enjoy it. I hope it's temporary.
