I wouldn’t risk it. When my kid was about four, I thought it would be fun to have her try some Twinkies because I loved them as a kid so I bought a box. OMG, I don’t know what they changed when they re-released them but they were absolutely AWFUL. My kid wouldn’t even eat a whole one and we ended up throwing most of the box away because they were that bad.

I would only eat a Twinkie if you paid me a good deal of money, and therefore have never bought any. I didn't even know they had anything besides the original flavor. But I definitely wouldn't spend my money on something with no clue of what it was even supposed to taste like. I spend too much money on food as it is these days.

According to Reddit, there is more than one mystery flavor. Someone said banana pudding/strong banana runt flavor and someone else said something raspberry…

The only reason I bought them was because my elderly mom asked for them. I bought her a 2nd box and then she told me, don't buy them any more. lol

I'd try one but I wouldn't buy a whole box. I remember loving them when I was a kid (they were a rare treat), but having one as an adult, they weren't that great.
I do still like the occasional HoHo though!

If the box is labeled banana, then that is not a mystery flavor. Fun fact- the original flavor of Twinkies was banana.

I do still like the occasional HoHo though! My mom never bought us that stuff regularly but once I had my own money I’d buy stuff like that at the gas station or Tom Thumb. They were gone for a while (I think the company closed) and when they were acquired by a different company and came back they weren’t the same. I wonder if it had something to do with trans fats being banned but they are horrible now. The snack cakes I truly miss with all my heart and soul are Dolly Madison Frosty Angel cakes. They were vanilla angel food cake with a thick slab of sugary pink frosting on top. Those were amazing and I wish I could find a copycat recipe.

They had Banana Suzy Qs many years ago , over 20 , and they were fantastic!! They were only in the summer around July 4.
I’d but everywhere out and freeze them!

I quit buying any of the snacks at the grocery store. I found a real Bakery.
