My team didn’t make the finals but I have a soft spot for a few of the teams. My step-daughter’s nephew plays for Hawthorn and we’ve shared lots of family occasions over the years so I’d love to see them do well.
It’s actually quite good just watching without any emotional investment.

Hubby went last night to the Hawks/Bulldogs game. He is a Hawthorn member. He came home pretty excited. He thought this was going to be the hardest game for them in the lead up to the Grand Final. My daughter is in Brisbane for Uni and is feeling a little homesick. She had friends over last night and they all watched the game together. She's already planning next week now. She is coming home for a week later in the month and will actually be here Grand Final Day. Hubby doesn't know she is coming so now I'm sort of hoping they make it so they can watch together. I follow St Kilda so no joy for me.

I was there at the G last night, with my dad and nearly 98,000 other people. Go Hawks!! 🤎 💛
We had friends over this afternoon watching the derby. What a cracker of a match! I was hoping Sydney would win, I have a soft spot for them (mainly due to Buddy). Heeney was awesome. AllieC who is your step-daughter's nephew?

We were Sydney Swans members for years when we still lived in Australia, bit I've lost track in the past few years, mainly due to very unfriendly time zones. I just looked at this weekend's results and see my Swannies have made the prelim final, and it will be a home game!!! I will never forget the first home prelim we went to - Sydney v Essendon, won my a point kicked after the siren in extra time. I'll keep an eye on the games the next few weekends, but probably not get to see any of them live - you need to subscribe to an AFL service, and with games being during the night here, it's not worth the cost as you can't pay for one or two games; you have to buy the whole season.

AussieMeg it is Will Day. I have a couple of great photos from when he was a little kid with my daughter and also his cousin Sam Day who played for Gold Coast.
