Becki, your triglycerides dropped a bunch, great work 👏👏. I hope you love eating this way as much as I do. I’m 8 years and counting. All my numbers are where they should be, and my cardiologist is pleased as well.

You didn't use a new body wash or soap or detergent did you? Dryer sheets? Yes. That could be it. He likes those damn scent beads in this laundry and he bought a new kind last week. I washed all the laundry in it. What sucks is that I washed all the laundry in it again yesterday. Maybe I'll throw in my camping clothes this morning and run another load without it. This makes sense and I didn't think about it.

Oh I hope you feel better soon and they figure out what's causing your hives/rash. Is there any chance it could be shingles? Congrats on staying the course with eating a plant-based diet and for quitting smoking!! I know that is difficult! I just woke up and I'm still a bit itchy but the swelling in my arms has gone down considerably.

snyder that is a really good thought. But I grew up with a pool and during the early part of my childrens childhood we had one too with no reaction. Our city water also has such a high chlorine content it kills sourdough starter. So I'm not thinking it is that.

When I developed a crazy rash after a mosquito bite it was caused by the West Nile virus. Just something to consider, I really hope it isn’t.

It took repeated washings in fragrance/dye free laundry detergent before the itchiness/swelling went down.

jeremysgirl , congratulations on the healthy changes you have made! I tried to eat vegan a few years ago, and I didn't miss meat, but I eat a lot of eggs and non fat greek yogurt, and I really missed those. I don't eat a lot of cheese anyway, but the vegan substitutes I tried were just crap and I couldn't eat them. LOL I can easily eat vegetarian. I love pretty much all veggies, grains, beans, etc, and I do eat some meals that have only plant based food, but I can't seem to make myself go all the way vegan.

Is it possible that if you have enough pairs of underwear that you just haven’t worn a pair yet that you have washed with the new beads?

When I reacted to Free and Clear Lysol Laundry Sanitizer, I only broke out on legs, arms, chest, face, scalp, stomach. Not on my back, not on my private area. Allergy said it was because those areas didn't keep getting touched by towels. I barely dry my back and pat my private area due to sensitive skin. But the other areas were rubbed and through out the day with hand towels.

The calamine is helping. I just took a second dose of steroid.

I really hope you are feeling better. I once had a case of hives and never did figure out what caused it and luckily it didn’t return. Yours sounds a bit worse than hives. I was younger when this happened and the steroids did help.

I was younger when this happened and the steroids did help. My legs are bearable. I haven't needed to put calamine on them since yesterday morning. My arms are still pretty itchy. But the swelling has gone down tremendously. I'm camping anyway. At least the weather is cool enough that I can wear clothing to cover up most of it. It really looks horrendous. I don't know how it went from looking like a ton of mosquito bites on Wednesday to full blown nastiness on Friday.

I’m glad you got to go camping and are enjoying your weekend. It sounds like you are seeing improvement so that’s good.

Yikes. I hope the Pred clears this up, quickly. Sounds like the shot might have helped a bit.
You do an amazing job taking care of yourself. Clearly, you can get fit w/o weight loss drugs. Slow and steady really does win the race. It's not just about taking it off. It's about feeling well. I'm always so impressed by your inner strength.
Do what works for you and gives you energy. If you're thriving on a vegan lifestyle then that's all you need. It's OK to vary your diet and enjoy an ice cream cone or meat once in a while, too, since it's not a matter of food allergies. Celebrate yourself and your accomplishments, because you're adding quality and quantity to your life.

Celebrate yourself and your accomplishments, because you're adding quality and quantity to your life. I'm getting stronger mentally. I'm creating a lot of boundaries. I have accepted so many things now that I know I can't change. Previously I was frantic with some of the stresses in my life that I couldn't change. But I've realized something that is very difficult to say (so please don't judge) but grief and sadness are easier to handle than constant chaos. I would rather be sad that I can't have a relationship right now with a manic, drinking Chloe and do little things just to let her know I'm thinking of her and hoping the day will come that she will be better. But I accept I can't help her through this. My therapist has let me know that it's ok to focus on myself a bit. That's what I have the power to control. So that's what I'm doing.

I'm glad to hear that some of the itching has subsided. Here's to hoping that the meds and possible rewashing of everything will get it sorted out quickly!! Back to the plant based lifestyle: I have the cookbook ordered, spent the day playing Disney Dreamlight Valley, and watching all of Nisha's videos. Well not all but a good few. Anywho, I made this lemony dip this afternoon. I am getting ready to make the pickled onions and peppers next and then shred up some cabbage. My thought is to make a wrap with the dip. Whatever is not used on the wrap for lunch, will be a snack. Do we think this wrap could be made ahead of time, say tonight for tomorrow's lunch? And there is a bit of prep to her stuff. I'll need to get back in the groove. I used to enjoy cooking. Hope this helps spark that again. rainbowplantlife.com/lemony-white-bean-dip/#wprm-recipe-container-20542

I would put the wrap together tomorrow morning.

Holy cannoli friend!! jeremysgirl, I just got my 5 pound book in!! I just opened it to see what it looked like and it opened to Fermented Cashew Cheese. It sounds divine! Is this one of the things you need a new food processor for? I am going to my DD's this weekend and this book is going with me. I plan on taking a notepad and little stickies to mark all the things. You are so right that this is a beautiful book. I love that she has a very large section in the front of principles and tips. The photography is outstanding. I just can't wait to just sit and go through it.

It was worth every bit of that price wasn't it naby64? I read the whole thing this week. I have even while camping invited a friend and his new vegetarian girlfriend for a brunch in a couple of weeks. There are so many good recipes. I cannot wait to get cooking.

I know it's not the covid vaccine as I had my last in January. But this is definitely something. And it's gone from itchy to painful. Still some spots itch but they are definitely painful. I'm supposed to leave for camping tomorrow. I know it's not the Covid vaccine for you but just stating that I have had that type of reaction to something. Mine burned. I took Luke warm bath in the morning and didn't shave for weeks. After I let the water empty the I filled it with cool water and sat. Let that drain and basically air dried my skin. Got out and immediately applied the Rx cream I was given (that can take several days to start to work) and then after a bit CeraVe cream. I would do cool compresses during the day and apply the Rx cream again. At night I took another cool bath (basically as cold as my body allowed) and sat then drained, air dried and went to bed with no sheets or clothing. If anything touched it, it hurt to bad. The cool helped soothe the pain and itch. Ask UC if rubbing alcohol would be fine to use. It helps with itching, burning and cools as it evaporates from your skin. I use that on skeeter syndrome and no see um bites. Same here…. But it was my original 2 Moderna Covid vaccinations. Took about 3-4 days to get bad, and a week or two to clear up. I haven’t taken any more of them.

jeremysgirl. So glad you are feeling some better. ,.....HUGS... I had hives, serious hives, years ago. The doctor said she had never seen them as bad. Apparently I was scratching in my sleep. My thighs were purple as were my arms. Never do I want to revisit them again!!! We got it down to three causes...but never just one..
