I actually do like gray walls. For me, it’s not following the trend, it’s changing from the more Tuscan look. We are fixing to start renovations, and we are switching from mostly tans and dark, to more gray/color with tan mixed in. I’m all for color, but I like it in smaller doses in my accent pieces. I’m actually super excited to get rid of the black and tan/gold/black countertops, and replace them with gray/white/tan. The shower tiles will be smokey gray, but will have multicolored tiny tiles in the soap niches! www.etsy.com/listing/1242090767/multicolor-porcelain-mosaic-tiles-tiny?click_key=1f3da62b705b7afbd6123ed99e7de7ef3d1c477f%3A1242090767&click_sum=bdf44150&ref=shop_home_recs_1&frs=1The tile floors will be a white/gray pattern. There will be pops of color everywhere. Walls in main areas are a light gray, and rooms and ceiling are a linen color. I’m not a fan of white walls or ceilings. Niches in main hall are burnt orange and teal. Cabinets will remain dark, and the wood floors will be dark, as well. The island will be a dark gray with a dark walnut top. Backsplash and fireplace are white/gray/tan. Couch is gray, but ottoman/rug/pillows/blankets and decor are all different colors. I’m so excited! As for clothing trends, I’m 5’1” and a bit overweight at the moment (working on that), so I like some of the cropped tshirts that aren’t super short. I also like slip on sneakers, and cowboy boots with short dresses, but I could never pull that off. I like mid-rise skinny jeans because anything more than straight makes me look like a barrel. I do like distressed/holy jeans to a certain extent…mostly in the knees. I hate the ones that look like a cat got to them.

Ohhh, I love what you are doing with your remodel! The tiny multicolor tile is awesome! I also like the gray/white interiors as the "base" with color used in decor. I will be doing that in my remodel also. White/gray is so calming to me. I'm very happy to be getting rid of the tans/browns/beige.

As soon as I saw them, I told my DH that I didn’t care where we put them, but they HAD to go somewhere in our house. Then, we decided to remodel, and I found the perfect spots!

Good luck with your remodel! Sounds exciting! Yes, white/gray is very calming to me too. Even with woods, I prefer the lighter birch color to darker woods. I do like black too though. I have a black bookcase in my craft room that I love. Clothing - I am liking loose fitting clothes lately. Not baggy, but not skin-hugging like skinny jean tight. I am short though, so I can't do too loose fitting. But I envy taller people that can wear flowing skirts or pants. I've always loved slip-on sneakers. Even ones that weren't meant to be slip-on become slip-on for me. Oh, and being short, crop trends are good for me. Then it fits almost like a non-crop item on me.

I’m very similar to you - I love the cropped trend, it’s much more flattering than long tops. Cropped like to my waist - not showing tummy. Though I also love the trend of matching long line sports bras with leggings for working out.
I love baseball hats with sunglasses, also love cowboy boots and mini skirts. Love sparkly eyeshadow and gold ring and bracelet stacks. There are sooo many trends I love right now.
And I haven’t even mentioned home trends - so many good ones too. Your remodel sounds fabulous.

Clothing wise I actually like high waist pants trend (just not ultra high). They kinda keep everything in it's place as it pertains to the extra skin I have from weight loss. Couple the high waist with a wide leg (not super wide) and I think they are flattering and show off off my waistline. And along with the other short girls, a mildly (no tummy showing) cropped shirt/sweater/top makes me happy (most of the time).
I see a trend towards fewer, quality clothing pieces, rather than having a closet filled to the brim with STUFF. I am totally on that bandwagon.

By the time something becomes a trend, I'm typically already sick of it. I often wonder---is everyone buying this because they all happen to truly love the same thing at the same time, or are they all buying it because they love to buy new stuff and this is primarily what stores are offering? And so only very rarely is there a trend that I join in on. Now when the nautical trend blew through a few years back, I did truly love that because it reminded me of vacations, but I still didn't buy any of it, because I have a hang up about my house decor matching the environment of the house. So since there's no ocean to be found anywhere near me ( ) I'm likely never going to put nautical themed things in my house.

Not sure if it's trendy or not, but I love a coastal style for my decor. My house is mostly white with some shade of blue in different areas. My kitchen island cabinets and fireplace are both a kind of navy/royal blue. My bathroom walls are SW Sea Salt (i think that's the name) which complements my laundry room wallpaper that has a sealife pattern of sea greens and aquas. When I bought my house, the walls were an off-white color, but they always looked dark and dirty to me. My house just feels fresher and lighter now.
I am so grateful that sneakers + dressy pants/skirts are still stylish bc I just cannot bring myself to put on heels ever again! I so also have a good selection of chunky loafers. I am also loving that animal print is big for fall bc I never got rid of any of mine!

I like the high-waisted, wide-leg jeans and shorter tops to go with them. I like thick-soled, hi-top sneakers, too. I like boho styles, patterned overalls and slacks with a fitted waist and wider leg as well. I'm glad skinny jeans aren't the only pants in town as I feel you have to be really skinny to look good in them. I also like plaid or checkered coats.

I am not a trend follower....I just like what I like.
I love wood flooring, real or laminate. I love shiplap on the walls.
Not sure if it is considered a trend or not.....but I love photo gallery walls. I've seen several walls with big frames or big canvases. I also love photo ledge shelves filled with photographs in frames, cute signs, candles, decor, etc.. (which is what I have on my home).

Let's see. I am loving simple - in my outfits, in my home decor, in makeup.
Clothing wise, I love that leopard is making a comeback. For me, it'll be in small pieces like a scarf, belt, shoes. Looking at my closet, I am being more intentional but what I buy and if I don't love it, then I pass on buying it. In my home, I am on the cozy minimalist train - not lots of extra crap, but what I do use has a purpose and is pretty.

Dresses with sneakers or Birks - yes, please. I'm a big fan of "elevated" athleisure. I actually love wide-legged pants and jeans. I find I can get away with them as long as they're an inch or two above my ankle and I wear sandals, and as long as my top is more fitted. If they're full length and meet the top of my shoes/socks I look like a tree stump. Maximalism in decor - that's my jam whether it's trendy or not. Recognition of neurodivergence manifesting in different ways than we've always thought and being a superpower (with education and support) rather than a weakness.
Most of all, I love the trend of people getting to be who they are. We don't all have to fit in a certain box or look/act a certain way to please other people.

I thought I’d read a couple times that the new trend is away from gray and back to the warmer tans? I’m a big believer in doing what you like, whether it’s a trend or in style or whatever. The only issue I’ve had is that it can be hard to find what you want if it isn’t the current trend.

They tend to lean dark, and I need light and bright in my life right now.

I just added a four and a half foot tall board and batten with a two inch shelf in my dining room. The original walls were smooth. Really smooth and lacked any personality. It is the first room you saw when you walk in my house. I have a lot of nature photos that are 11 x 14 up to 18 x 24 and I wanted them displayed somewhere. That room makes me very happy now.

My favorite trend, thank you gen z, is wearing what makes you happy, rather than sticking only to what makes you look the thinnest.

I love that any style of jeans works right now. Wide? Sure. Flares? Yep. Skinny? Go for it. Cropped? Eff yeah. Cuffed? Yes. Mom jeans? They’ve even made those cool again.
Anything truly goes.

I went to Macy's recently and they have a lot of jeans. Levi's has a big section with all kinds of jeans - flared, boy cut, wide, cropped, skinny, etc. Other brands are available in all kinds of styles too. It is like jeans are the in-thing again.

I like that pretty much every style of jeans is in right now. My daughter works at AE and has confirmed that they are still selling a lot of skinny jeans. This spring I bought a couple pairs of carpenter jeans from Gap in different washes. I love them - they are comfortable and versatile. They remind me of pants I wore in the early 80s. I love that you can wear sneakers with pretty much anything now.

I see a trend towards fewer, quality clothing pieces, rather than having a closet filled to the brim with STUFF. I am totally on that bandwagon. That's a bandwagon I've been on since the 70's. I'm so happy to see the pushback happening now against fast fashion, as well as the wider acceptance of buying and wearing vintage clothing. Fast fashion has been so detrimental to the fashion industry. Not for just the waste and pollution aspect, but the quality of clothing produced overall. Buy the best quality you can afford, in classic styles and you will spend less money in the long run. People are shocked to see how small my closet space is. But I honestly don't need a huge walk in closet filled with tons of clothing.

But my tastes change so often that I just can't do it. Also, I don't like the way I look in the more structured, tailored clothes that most people think of as classic. I do try to buy second hand but that's not always possible. I'm trying to do better.

I do like the gray trend in home decorating, I just don't care for it when every single thing is gray. I'm looking at a lot of houses and condos online right now, and so many of them have everything gray--gray cabinets, gray wood floors, gray backsplash, gray walls. It's all too much for me. And while I don't mind the look of the gray wood floors as long as everything else isn't gray, I feel like it's so trendy that in a few years, it's going to look so outdated. And flooring is expensive to replace. I'd rather have wood floors that are more traditional/timeless. I do like gray wall with white trim, though, and I can see myself having that in my next home. I also like color, so I feel like gray walls and more neutral furnishings lend themselves to colorful pillows, throws, etc.
That all said, I pretty much decorate pretty eclectically, using things I love, not necessarily what's in style. I'm just more aware of it now because I'm looking at homes.

In my pre-teen to early 20's years, my dad owned two (completely different) mid to high end women's boutiques. I totally blame my love of clothing on him. He used to call me a "clothes horse" in the nicest way possible I've never been into "fast fashion," and my closets/drawers have never been overflowing, but I really did wear 20% of my clothing 80% +++ of the time. Working on it. Also, if anyone missed the documentary about fast fashion (cannot recall the streaming service or the name of the show but I bet someone here does) it is EYE OPENING. I mean seriously stunning. And this is coming from a girl who thought she knew about most of the world's big waste issues.

I will be the first to admit that I LOVE good clothing. Really love it. Me too! In my early/mid 20s I managed a really nice clothing store. I got an excellent discount, and took full advantage of it. LOL I still have nice taste in clothing, but my budget for a long time didn't really allow me to spend a lot of money on clothes. Instead, I became a good bargain hunter. People often tell me they love the way I dress, but honestly, most of clothes come from Kohl sales and clearance racks at Macy's. Lately, I've found some good bargains on JCrew Outlet that I absolutely love. I try to stay away from super trendy things and buy things that are more classic in style, even though I can't afford what I really want. LOL
