It's September! Who is up for another round robin? We send a padded envelope of stamps and dies and embossing folders around and you can take what you can use and add in a few things that you'd like to pass on. The envelope costs about $10 to mail to the next person and I think everyone will get at least $10 worth of stuff they can use, probably a lot more in my experience. I have whittled down the massive stash that came back to me into a pretty nice selection to start us off again. Lots of different styles, some very new things, some older. Please don't worry if you did it before and decided it wasn't for you or if the timing isn't right for you right now. And sorry, this really only works in the USA. Stupid international mail is just too expensive. I think we start late September and have it go around within 4-8 weeks depending on how many people want to join in, and allowing for unforeseen circumstances that might delay here and there. We had talked about maybe doing 6x6 paper pads or partial pads. I don't know if that starts getting complicated... if we have different ideas of acceptable sized scraps... or maybe other complications. Once paper pads got added to this envelope it got too big to mail for the promised $10, so I think it would be better to do that as a separate round robin, maybe with pocket cards and die cuts. Maybe on the main board since lots of scrappers might have paper goods they want to exchange. LMK what you think, and any volunteers to manage that, pls raise your hands.

Sadly, I'm going to pass this time. I can honestly say I don't have anything to trade right now. I gave two full boxes of my extras to a gal who is just starting her career as an art therapist and was asking for donations.
Thanks for organizing, Jo. I'll catch you gals on the next one.

Thanks for organizing Jo, but I’m going to sit this one out too. I just have too much going on for the next three months.
I’d like to do the next one if you do another.

I’m in, if it’s ok that I’m out of town from October 4 - 10. Our dd will be here so if I get it while I’m gone she will bring it inside. But I also understand if the delay would be a problem, if it’s delivered while I’m out of town

I did just go through some of my stamps this afternoon. Ugh, I need to do a hard purge, but it’s so hard to decide what to get rid of.

I'm also in! I've been setting stuff aside in anticipation. Thank you for hosting again, Jo! I think I'd also be interested in a paper based one, and could host if needed, but would need time to figure my donations for that one. Not something I would want to handle right now.

Unfortunately, I'm out this round. I have far too much to get rid of as I de-stash, and no need for new things right now. Last time I really had a hard time with the size of the envelope and managing to be able add much of anything to it. Maybe next year, have fun girls!

Last time I really had a hard time with the size of the envelope and managing to be able add much of anything to it. Maybe next year, have fun girls! No problem I feel like it probably grows as it goes around. Do you think that starting out with the envelope emptier would help? or probably only for the first person or two? I started the first one quite full because that's what I had, I was trying to give things away that had been gifted to me! and I thought people would take more than they added... but it turned out to be the opposite, I think. I got more back at the end of the first one and twice as much at the end of the second one with twice as many people. lol. Are people thinking of this more as a getting-rid-of-things opportunity rather than receiving things? (question for all, not just michym)

I guess I look at it as both, or maybe how I look at it has drifted. I think the first time, I still felt like a newbie and was hoping to score some stash. So many people were adding so much, I ended up feeling kind of bad for looking at it that way.
Last time I took some things that looked intriguing but probably wouldn't have purchased. Some I tried, didn't care for, and would now like to put back in when it gets here.
I have a selection of different sorts of things I could put in, depending on how full it is when it gets here and how much I take out, things like that. At some point, things I don't put in an envelope I will put into a box to go to the crafty thrift store.

joblackford, right now I am purge mode, so that's mainly why I won't be participating this time. Last time was the first time I did the round robin. By the time it got to me it was so full that even after taking out a couple of things for myself, AND my also friend removed a few things, I couldn't get the goods back into an envelope, even without adding anything of my own. I ended up randomly removing a few more things so I could at least pop a few of my things in there. I think I was at about the halfway point. I will likely post some give-aways here instead of doing the round robin this go around.

Makes me wonder if we should set a guideline that you can't contribute more than you take....

For me, I tried to put in the "value" of what I took out. I didn't want to be greedy, even though no one would know what I took or put in.

We have 5 people on the list for now, plus me. I’ll take a look at the last group and see if I need to tag anyone who said they wanted to join again. But I don’t mind if we have a little smaller group this time.

I'm sorry I didn't respond as I was on vacation. I'm ok with being out this time around. If anyone does want to do a paper pad exchange, I would love to be included!
