He's really gone off the rails. I hope the ABC moderators fact check him if he says any of this nonsense www.nytimes.com/2024/09/09/us/politics/trump-vance-haitians-ohio.htmlTrump Campaign Amplifies False Claim About Haitian Migrants in Ohio A local official said there was “absolutely no evidence” that Haitian migrants have stolen and eaten pets, an outlandish claim amplified by the Trump campaign on Monday. The Trump campaign promoted an outlandish false claim on Monday that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, have abducted and eaten their neighbors’ pets, again demonizing migrants as the campaign seeks to attack Vice President Kamala Harris on immigration.
A news release from the campaign on Monday recounted the falsehoods, which were amplified earlier in the day by former President Donald J. Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, and sought to stoke fear, saying “it’s coming to your city next.”
Other prominent Republican elected officials and organizations, including Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, the House Republican campaign arm and the Republican-led House Judiciary Committee, promoted false claims about pets or park wildlife being eaten on Monday.
The notion stems from viral social media posts that city officials say there is no evidence for.
Karen Graves, a spokeswoman for the city of Springfield, said in a statement that “there have been no credible reports or specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community.” The city’s police division also said it had received no reports related to pets being stolen and eaten, according to The Springfield-News Sun.
The false claims being promoted by the Trump campaign tapped into old racist stereotypes that have been directed at immigrants, accusing them of abducting and killing animals to cook and eat or, in the case of Haitian migrants, using them in religious sacrifices.
Haiti and migrants from the country, who are overwhelmingly Black, have been the focus of Mr. Trump’s vitriol before. In 2021, Mr. Trump said that Haitian migrants were spreading AIDS to the United States, saying “it’s like a death wish for our country.” Mr. Trump has also referred to Haiti as a “shithole” country in remarks denigrating Haitian immigrants.Haiti is only a “shithole” country because other nations want their billions in natural resources there so badly that we keep “sanctioning” them. Haiti is rich in natural resources that e eryone wants to plunder. Haiti sits on billions of dollars of gold, copper, oil & gas, but refuses to allow rights to be sold so greedy colonizing countries like us create sanctions to prevent them from reaping the benefits of their own natural resources on their own thus profiting themselves. The same way the natural resources are plundered in some African states.

I have been asking this for a few months. What is this going to look like? Will they pull over only those who look hispanic or all non-whites? What if they have legitimate papers and the LEO doesn't believe it? I have a 15 mo old mixed race grandson (black and white) but have had a couple people ask if he is half hispanic. Will I need to carry some kind of papers for him when I take him out while babysitting? What about my son-in-law who is black, will a driver's license be enough or will he need to carry a birth certificate? I am furious that the MSM is not calling trump out more on his platform and craziness. The Heather Cox Richardson letter from Sept 7 should be required reading. Many things scare me about a second trump presidency but this terrifies me for what could happen to friends and family. Can you inagine all those latin families in Texas, NM, AZ, CA, NV who have been here for 300+ years but “look latin” hence they must be deported? But those europeans on expired visas? Nope, we will never see them deport those white illegals. Magas are lunatics! My great-grandparents immigrated here lawfully, never learned to speak English, never became U.S. citizens, and returned to their native country when they retired. Can't imagine what would have happened to them under something like this.

Many things scare me about a second trump presidency but this terrifies me for what could happen to friends and family. There is presently some movement... Former President Donald Trump faces the same scrutiny that President Joe Biden did following his disastrous debate performance in June, which led to a loss of confidence from his own party and ultimately his withdrawal from the race. That's according to Peter Baker of The New York Times, which reported Monday that the 78-year-old Trump may exhibit "more energy and speaks with more volume" than Biden at 81, but he, too, "has mixed up names, confused facts and stumbled over his points.""Mr. Trump’s rambling speeches, sometimes incoherent statements and extreme outbursts have raised questions about his own cognitive health and, according to polls, stimulated doubts among a majority of voters," Baker wrote. Among the recent issues that have raised red flags among observers are Trump's constant unprompted references to fictional serial killer Hannibal Lecter when discussing migrants, a recent rant in which he talked about being eaten by a shark and whether boat batteries would electrocute people, and a minutes-long explanation of his child care policy that critics found barely coherent. He also confused former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) with former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC), the latter of whom ran against him in the primary but is now endorsing his campaign. Stephanie Grisham, Trump's former press secretary who turned against him in response to the Jan. 6 attacks, told The Times that the debate format is likely to prevent Trump from looking too exhausted — but said she believes "his ramblings are certainly getting worse." "I don’t know if it’s his age or some kind of mental decline. I think the media, general public and certainly his supporters have grown desensitized to a man who lies and rambles all the time, and that’s unfortunate," she said. www.rawstory.com/donald-trump-debate-2669152849/

Here is something else to imagine if the CF is elected. Especially since the conservative idiots on the Supreme Court gave a president immunity.
Ron Filipkowski…
”Trump said that his 2nd Admin will look nothing like his 1st because he says the GOP establishment was able to convince him to appoint too many people to senior positions who told him he couldn’t do certain things, and he will make sure there’s nobody like that around this time.”

www.nytimes.com/live/2024/09/03/opinion/thepoint#vance-smear-haitians-petsThe charge that a foreign people steal and eat pets is a classic attack meant to dehumanize its targets and legitimize persecution and removal. This is important to note because it comes just days after Donald Trump warned that the mass expulsion of immigrants from the United States — the centerpiece of his second-term agenda — will be a “bloody story.”
JD Vance, it seems, is playing his part.

heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/september-9-2024While Harris focused on policy, as critics have demanded, MAGA Republicans today spread slurs about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, claiming they are eating other people’s pets and local wildlife. Right-wing media figure Benny Johnson, who was one of the six commenters whose paychecks at now-disbanded Tenet Media were paid by Russia, was one of those pushing the false stories. So was X owner Elon Musk.
The story was debunked almost immediately by the Springfield police, but Republican politicians ran with it. The X account for Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee ran it; so did Texas senator Ted Cruz, who shared an image with two kittens saying: “PLEASE VOTE FOR TRUMP SO IMMIGRANTS DON’T EAT US.” And the Republican vice presidential nominee, Ohio senator J.D. Vance, posted: “Reports now show that people have had their pets abducted and eaten by people who shouldn't be in this country.” (The Haitians in Springfield are in the U.S. legally.)
Perhaps most significantly, Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno, who is challenging Democratic Ohio senator Sherrod Brown, pushed the story. That Senate seat is crucial to the Republican attempt to take control of the Senate, and Moreno has just launched a $25 million ad campaign against Brown, accusing him of giving undocumented immigrants taxpayer-funded benefits. Today’s disinformation was well timed for that ad campaign.
