Why did they decide that there wouldn’t be an audience? Trump feeds off an audience. As I recall, the Biden team didn't want an audience. Harris is stuck with the arrangements that were made before she became the nominee. She has both benefited and is being hindered by inheriting the nomination from Biden. She got the money and an existing campaign system. However, she has this short time frame to make her case, is stuck with what people perceive as Biden's failures unless she can find the right way to distance herself, and has to follow the rules already negotiated for the debate.

That must be hard to be in a house divided. Hugs. Very!! It's is hard seeing the one you love fall for lies that are being told. Listening to him say "I don't like Trump, I don't agree with all the rambling, the name calling, etc. but I can't vote for her(or Joe when he was the candidate)" Why? He just can't really give an answer except for the calling cards of Fox- the economy was better, blah blah blah. I asked him when his DD is sexually assaulted and wants to have an abortion, what then? Oh, he will drive her to wherever he needs to. Now, he doesn't believe in that but he loves her and wants to protect her. Oh, well what happens when she is happily pregnant(won't ever happen) but heaven forbid it's an ectopic pregnancy and the doctor sends her home to wait it out? She will most likely die. Is that what you want? silence. I really don't get it. How do you love policies more than your family? My niece is gay. I ask how do you like the laws that will be put in place if he wins and her life is affected? Oh...he won't do that. He refuses to believe that P25 is nothing more than wasted printed paper. It's very hard. This is exactly my life right now, every bit of what you said. It is very hard. I want to discuss important political issues with my husband but I just can't because he believes all of what he hears on talk radio. He spends a lot of time in the car for work and listens all day long.

They probably won't change their minds, but how about trying to tell them that trump is in serious mental decline. He is the chosen candidate because he most likely will be incapacitated within the next year or so, and then vance will become the president. Vance is heavily involved with project 25. The rhetoric he spews on a daily basis is in P25. trump is basically a drooling sock puppet right now. If he wins, he may have the title of president, but he won't be. My sister is voting for Trump and I don't even bother talking with her about all of the ways that I don't like him or why he's bad for the country, BUT I will talk about Vance and how inexperienced he is or how harmful and backward his comments are. I really don't think Trump is healthy enough to be able to be the president for 4 more years (should the worst happen and he is president again!) so I think it's important to talk with her about my concerns about Vance.

My DH has a skewed world-view (ya think? lol)... he thinks / wishes gas would still be $1.99 a gallon, bread should cost 59 cents a loaf, etc. His view of the R party is still back when it was actually the party of fiscal conservativism and small government. (I don't think it was really ever like that myself, but...) Back to the debate: I SOOO wish that they hadn't given in to the Trump team's complaints about turning off the microphone.

A divided house is hard. My husband is a die hard republican and won't vote for a democrat but he hasn't and won't vote for TFG. He does not watch or listen to Fox or anything like that but still. Doesn't want anything political on tv. He has always been that way I remember years ago there was a movie with Annette Bening she was dating the president - it had too much politics for him. He refuses to talk about politics. So I guess that is better than a being a trumper but still he won't vote to help a democrat. We are in California so I figure it doesn't matter and I know that I could never get him to vote for a democrat. I may record it - I want to watch it - I may watch live. Its hard. I used to be Republican but TFG changed that and I don't see ever going back.

I’m a 🐔
Marc Thiessen wrote a column in the Washington Post..
”My new @postopinions column: Trump can knock Harris out of the race in one debate. Here’s how.”
And this was my response that I was to 🐔 to send.
“I think the question one should be asking is how many lies trump is going to tell tonight. He was fact cd after the debate with President Biden and found to have told 33 lies I think was the number. And he did it in 90 minutes. I wonder if he will beat that record tonight?”
I’ll post his grand plan in a bit.

Here is the link to the entire column.. link
Marc Thiessen has plan for the CF to follow to push Harris out of the race. “ Opinion Trump can knock Harris out of the race in one debate. Here’s how.”1. Remind swing voters of what they like about him: his policies. At a recent rally, Trump mocked advisers who tell him to focus on policy, not insults: “They always say, ‘Sir, please stick to policy. Don’t get personal.’ And yet [Democrats are] getting personal all night long.” The reason they do so is because it is their only path to victory. In a fight over policy, Democrats lose. A July Harvard CAPS-Harris poll found that a majority of voters support all the key elements of the GOP platform, and 54 percent approve of the job Trump did as president — including majorities of every age and a dozen demographic groups. When he focuses on policy and contrasts his record with that of the Biden-Harris administration, he reminds swing voters of what they liked about his presidency. Focus on policy. 2. Don’t remind swing voters of what they don’t like about him. A July New York Times-Siena College poll asked: Has Donald Trump ever said anything that you found offensive? Six in 10 Americans said either “no” or “yes, but not recently.” Among younger voters ages 18 to 29, it was nearly 7 in 10. Over the past four years, many voters’ memories of the reasons they disliked Trump have faded. So, Trump’s first task is not to remind them. Harris will try to goad Trump into leveling insults and personal attacks. And she will try to bait him into defending his actions on Jan. 6, 2021. He can’t take the bait. Many swing voters are considering voting for him despite his conduct that day, because they believe Biden and Harris are a disaster and remember that their lives were better under Trump. For these voters, hearing Trump defend Jan. 6 is like fingernails on a chalkboard. If he is talking about Jan. 6, he is losing. When Harris brings it up, he should pivot and remind voters that on Jan. 6, inflation was low, the border was secure, and the world was at peace. And he should point out that the real danger to our democracy is allowing Democrats to gain power, get rid of the filibuster, pack the Supreme Court, make D.C. a state and ram through their radical agenda with a simple majority. 3. Make Harris the incumbent and tie her to Biden. Harris has decided on an audacious election strategy: She is running as the insurgent while treating Trump as the incumbent. Even her campaign slogan is “a new way forward.” A new way forward? She’s the vice president! But that strategy is working: A new Post-ABC-Ipsos poll found that 6 in 10 voters say Harris had only some or very little influence on the administration’s economic and border policies. Trump needs to remind voters that she has been in office for the last four years. One way to do that: Don’t call her “Comrade Kamala.” Instead, use the nickname she is running away from: “Madam Vice President.” Not only would this come across as respectful (which would appeal to reluctant swing voters), but it would also remind them that she is, in fact, the vice president who cast the deciding vote on a spending bill that gave us the worst inflation in four decades, and who helped unleash the worst border crisis in American history. And if she wants to chart a “new way forward,” make her explain: What was wrong with the old way? Which Biden policies does she disagree with? 4. Make Harris own her record. Harris is not only running from Biden’s record; she is also running from her own. The flip-flops are coming so fast and furious it’s hard to keep up: She was for a federal ban on fracking, now she’s against it. She was for Medicare-for-all, now she’s not. She was for the Green New Deal, now she won’t talk about it. She was for decriminalizing illegal border crossings, now she’s against it. She was against a border wall, now she’s for one. Yet she claims, “My values have not changed.” The way to call her out on these flip-flops is to force her to explain why she changed her positions. What is so great about a border wall? What is so bad about the Green New Deal? What do you now like about fracking? She can’t answer those questions because she is abandoning her 2019 platform positions and Senate record out of political expediency, not conviction. Expose that fact. With one disciplined debate performance, Trump helped knock Biden out of the race. On Tuesday night, he has a chance to do the same to”

My DH has a skewed world-view (ya think? lol)... he thinks / wishes gas would still be $1.99 a gallon, bread should cost 59 cents a loaf, etc. we can have this again but people will have to earn $1.50/hour, cell phones won't exist, and neither will the internet. i would love those low price days too but that romanticized time also came with pitfalls that we don't want to live through again. i've said it before and i'll say it again, a few years from now we will long for the prices of today. as wages, house values and the stock market go up, so will the price and cost of goods.

”I'll do my best to tweet, but it won't be comprehensive here, especially toward the end of the debate, on account of my job duties. We'll have a very detailed fact check on the CNN website and app, and I'll be on TV post-debate.”

Didn’t want to do the handshake thing. I love how she introduced herself—“Kamala Harris”. He grunts.”
