I have had Tahini from Thrive Market, Trader Joe's and some other place.
The Thrive Market came in a pouch and had to be kneaded before each use. I think I ended up blowing up the pouch on the last use because it was too thick to squeeze out. The TJ's tahini is in a glass jar. And as I am becoming used to, it is separated. I used a new jar yesterday and probably spent 10-15 minutes trying to mix it enough to use it. I thought about using my immersion blender but it wouldn't fit into the jar opening. The other tahini from unremembered brand seemed to stay mixed better. But dang if I know who it was.
I was watching a video yesterday and the person used tahini. It was the nicest, spoonable consistency. Is it because she did all the prep work to mix it before the video? She's not the only one that has had nice tahini so it makes me wonder.
If you use tahini and it doesn't have to be mixed up all every.single.use which brand do you use? Is there a difference of brands? I am doing a pantry re-set and trying to decide on keeping the TJs or switching up.

All tahini that I have used separates. I would actually be suspicious if it didn’t - it would suggest to me that they had added emulsifiers. I suspect the YouTube/TikTok people mix it before starting their videos.

In my experience tahini always separates, like peanut butter, and although I love it, it’s a total pain to deal with.

I buy it in an orange and brown can and it separates but because the opening is so big it is easy to mix back up. It should all essentially be the same product since it is just sesame seeds. The TJ kind was a pain in the ass. I didn't buy it again.

I was thinking I might just transfer it over to a wide mouth mason jar so that I can use my immersion blender the next time I grab it.

Mine is in a container with a wide lid, and yes it separates. Now I know why the store puts it on the shelf by the peanut butter.
