Maybe bc of the backlash of the "altered" photos? not trying to be mean, I really look forward to seeing her back out and about! I just thought the video was... strange?

Given the vast amount of people who are always clamoring for "proof of life", as well as those who decry the royals as being out of touch with regular life, I view this video as their way of saying that yes, she's actually alive and not a body double, and yes, they are royal, but cancer doesn't care about royalty and affects a person and their family all the same.
It'll also undoubtedly make one hell of a PSA/inspo video for cancer charities in the future, should KP allow that.

What a beautiful video. It is rare that we get to see so much love between Kate and William although it has always been clear that it is there. And what fun to see them operating as a normal, happy family enjoying their time together .

I enjoyed the video and seeing them together as a family.

I’m one of the “common folk” and I’m taking the message exactly as I think it’s intended - Catherine has come to the end of her chemotherapy so she’s a step forward from the last update, she’s not cancer free so we are not to expect too much of her yet, her illness has caused her to re-evaluate her life with the emphasis being on the importance of loving and being loved and . . there are the family being loving. What more do you want of the woman?

(I don't even know what type she has) ETA her post says she is cancer free. Is that not correct (just looked at IG)

I kept waiting for more of a message about getting checked or something, much like when the king annouced he had cancer and the amount of prostate checks went up.

They are doing what they need to do live and that's all I expect.

I thought it was just lovely. I became emotional watching it. I think it is just a celebration of her treatment being completed and the joy that she is still here with her loving family. It doesn't have to be any more than it is - JOY TO STILL BE ALIVE AND WELL. I don't think she owes us any more than that.

I also see this as ann offering of hope to those going through this journey now. I loved the woodsy scenery and the kids at play and the parents soaking it all in. Maybe it is a message to stop and smell the roses?

I thought the video was lovely. I enjoyed the persona connections they shared as they usually follow protocol. It was nice to see her parents. It was great to see all of them doing normal things...playing cards, running in the water, climbing bales, sitting and cuddling as a family.

Whatever anyone says about the video, the obvious love and affection between Katherine and William (as well as their children) is such a pleasure to see.

I don't understand why you think the video is "strange". She and Prince William and their children are in the public eye. The video gave an update >> she is done with treatment, but still on the road to recovery (any sickness, disease or injury can leave a person feeling weak, run down, wiped out and lacking energy and strength) and returning to ones usual self takes time. The video tells her story about how hard it was, and how she felt supported by her Family and the general public. Being in the public eye, can't be easy.....damned if you do, damned if don't. Constantly watched and judged. She remained behind closed doors for a long while and was judged for that. She shares her update video and is judged as it being "strange". She needs grace, support and understanding......not judgement.

What a lovely video! I wish her well and am glad she is focusing on herself and her family!
With the rest of the family in casual shorts and her wearing a flowy dress makes me wonder if perhaps she had colon cancer and has an -ostomy. That's pure assumption on my part and certainly hope not, but just what came to mind.

But . . it's not like she's accepting an award or similar; she will, I imagine, have already thanked people in private and in time she might want to give public recognition to them. She's thanked the public for their support and good wishes. As for encouraging checks, that would possibly mean being far more specific about her illness than she is willing to be at the moment. I'm truly not having a go at you, I'm just putting a different point of view.

I really do hope she is doing well. The lovely description really fit this video. They seem like they are trying to be as normal as possible. Playing games together and such. I hope she makes a full recovery and has a long life.

I think it probably means that at this moment, her medical team see no sign of cancer BUT cancer is tricksy and there's almost always the possibility that it will return and depending on her specific cancer, the risk/liklihood of that may be higher or lower. I think you usually have to be cancer-free (in remission) for 5 years in most cases to be considered 'cured'.

I think we as a society need to stop putting that type of pressure on celebrity persons. I wouldn't expect that from people I follow if they were to go through cancer treatment. She is a working member of the British Royal Family and the work includes Patronages of various charities and causes. I think she would have a positive impact on diagnosis and treatment for her cancer if she goes public and hope we see that happen in the future. I dunno, it just seemed odd to have this trailer-like video come out, and not thank people on her team, or anything to encourage people to get checks or anything. I was disappointed she didn't recognize/thank her team, even in a general way without naming doctors or the treatment center. I'm not sure the words "remission" or "cured" are used in the cancer world currently. Anyone I know treated in the last few years wants to get to NED or "no evidence of disease". That is how my file is labeled now, after chemo and all visible cancer surgically removed, clear scans and blood work. I'm curious whether Catherine has had/continues to have immunotherapy as part of her treatment.

Always expecting it to sneak back in. And you're afraid if you use the term "cured" it will jinx you...
