Surroundings districts are closed again. We are close to the Line Fire. About 10-13 min away from where it started and is still active. We stay inside unless the dogs need to potty and that is when I mask up. Having to use my inhaler today though so the smoke and ash is getting to me. We had to run all of our fans and air purifiers even with the AC due to the smoke getting inside.
I have several friends who have had to evacuate and others on level 2 stand by.
Thankfully no structures have been lost and no loss of life. But like 36k homes/businesses are at risk. 😣

I use this to see the fires, and when I really zoom out, it looks like all of Oregon and Idaho is on fire! Yikes! app.watchduty.org/

I use Watch Duty too though they didn't update the Line Fire info for a good 12 or so hours.

When I was in Eastern Washington this summer, there were a lot of wildfires and the smoke was just awful. I took my sisters with me for the first time and our drive back was supposed to be so picturesque with Mt Rainier right there are we couldn't even see it. Very disappointing!
Stay safe and sound SoCal peas!

My nephew is a paramedic and has been working in Oregon at the fires. He has now been transferred to California since the need has increased there so much in the last few days.
Pray for everyone's safety and for Rain!

I drove from north San Diego County to Irvine and we could see the smoke plume from the Airport Fire the whole way. First photo is heading north on the 5 and the second heading south on the 405. You can see the white smoke from different front lines of the fires. All the smoke is heading east or southeast.

Those photos look awful! 😢
The Airport fire (OC) has grown to almost 20,000 acres and is still at 0% containment. The Baldy fire is also at 0% containment and that one is 34,000 acres. The Line fire is still huge too.
Cooler weather is here, so keeping my fingers crossed. I can actually feel the ocean breeze at nighttime again! So nice!

HIGHLAND, Calif. (KABC) -- A Norco man was arrested for arson in connection with the Line Fire, which has scorched more than 34,000 acres in mountainous areas of San Bernardino County.
Justin Wayne Halstenberg, 34, of Norco, was arrested for allegedly starting the fire, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. He was being held on $80,000 bail.
The Line Fire is 14% contained and at 35,000 acres.
All districts in the area are closed rest of week as well as private schools, charter schools, colleges, and universities.
We are all hopeful schools can reopen Monday.
One friends area was downgraded to level 2 warning so she is able to return home. ❤️
Another is still in level 3 mandatory. Homes in her neighborhood are safe but if winds shift fire could head back down so it's still level 3 are we have red flag warning today.
While the cooler weather will help, the winds won't and the fire creates its own weather.

I was so confused this morning watching the news. I've lived in So Cal all my life and I have always thought Wrightwood was at the bottom of the mountain and Big Bear was at the top. According to the news Mountain High ski resort was engulfed in the fire.
I honestly had no idea Wrightwood was so far north west of the Big Bear mountain.

According to the news Mountain High ski resort was engulfed in the fire. I honestly had no idea Wrightwood was so far north west of the Big Bear mountain. Ive skiied at all three. Wrightwood is on the west side of the 15, Big Bear on the east side. I did not hear about Mt. High burning. That is sad. Big Bear is the highest up, so it was always the “best” to us for ski conditions. Wrightwood has the easiest drive, but not as much snow. ETA - I read the resort saved itself by turning on the snow making machines. Bridge Fire sounds pretty close to the 15. I hope it doesn’t jump the freeway.
