Hey Peas! My DD is finally moving out to her first apartment, and we are making a list of things she will need. While it's not a need, I know she would appreciate a Keurig. When I was researching the cheapest Keurig we could get I discovered some good reviews for the Wal-mart Mainstay brand K-cup brewer. Much cheaper and some people were saying more reliable than their Keurigs have been. I know we had one Keurig that did not last long. Bought a second and it's still fine, but we've had it less than 1 year.
Just wondering if anyone has used any of these no name Keurigs that you would recommend?
Thanks!

I've had two of the Mainstays ones - didn't have a problem with either during the several years of use (neither broke - one had been my MILs and then went to college with DD - i think she's probably still got it), the other was passed on to a friend when MIL moved in bringing hers). If I wanted/needed one again, I wouldn't hesitate to buy Mainstays. MIL primarily used the Kcups, we primarily used ground coffee fwiw.
Currently I'm using a pour-over which I'm also happy with so... I might not be that picky.

Ours is a Cuisinart. Lasted way longer than any of the Keurigs. When Keurig stopped replacimg theirs for free, I stopped buying them

Another vote for Cuisinart. Love mine and the water is actually hot. No leaks. Nice design.

I have a Bunn MyCafe that I LOVE. It’s around 10 years old now and going strong. It has different inserts, so you can use k-cups or round coffee pods/tea bags, regular ground coffee (one cup at a time), or plain hot water that comes out almost boiling and doesn’t touch anything coffee has touched. Not cheap but not much more than Keurig machines, which I had a hard time with (two separate machines). The MyCafe was discontinued quite a while ago, but I think Bunn has a similar replacement machine now. ETA OK, this looks basically like the same exact machine I have. retail.bunn.com/42900.0501

We use a super inexpensive brewer (like $14) from WM--it's a BellaBrew (or something like that). It's a single cup, comes with the little basket so you can use your own coffee (or pods if preferred), easy to clean, small footprint ( I don't like cluttered counters).

Another vote for Ninja. Can do grounds or pods and has a flip out frother. No leaks, no grounds in cup and nice and hot.
