The rain has already started here and is supposed to get worse as they day goes on.
The weather guys have been warning all week that she could just stall over the city for a day or so because of a front coming in from the NE.
I have everything charged and the oil lamps ready since we seem to lose power when the wind barely blows.
Last evening, DH and I went out and picked every tomato that had even a little color on it. Last time we had several days of rain (in July) all of the ripe and almost ripe tomatoes ended up splitting and rotting on the vine before we got out there to harvest. I will put the underripe ones in a brown bag with a banana to ripen.
I have even adjusted our menus for the weekend because I am not going out in this mess unless I absolutely have to, and there is nothing urgent we need from the store. It can wait until Monday.
I hope all of the other Peas in the path stay safe and dry.

It came through here overnight. My back yard is still a lake, and one potted plant was knocked over. It was really just a heavy rain and a little wind this far north. It has stopped raining, but my windchimes are still serenading me. I kind of wish I had gotten up an hour early to read and listen to rain.

My poor friend is at Orange Beach in AL and had really been looking forward to it. Last time we went together, we had to leave a day early because of a hurricane. She can't catch a break.

My crazy aunt who has NO BUSINESS took a cruise out of New Orleans. It's been a sh*tshow since she left with her old friends. First they decide to drive in vans from KC to NO. They have to drive to KC to pick up vans. Vans were not available so they took some kind of truck(s).. then they have to pee at least every two hours. They should have flown but a few of them were afraid. THEN they finally get down there before the hurricane and now (as of yesterday) were stuck on the ship and couldn't dock. Oh yeah, had a panic attack before getting on the ship.. took some kind of drug from one of her friends. Or something like that.
This aunt of mine doesn't know how to act her age. She thinks she is a cute 20 year old (and I am not kidding). She is in her early 80s, but moves like she is over 90. She falls all the time. Had a knee replaced, can't drive anywhere out of her little area, but yet, she thinks she can go on these big epic trips. And every time is it a complete mess. Her three kids don't do anything to try to stop her or at least help.

It came through here overnight and I slept right through it. We've had lots of rain and maybe some wind. Some people have lost power, but all is good at my home and work.
