….outside a fb group
I was asked by this fb group I’m a member in if I wanted to help out doing readings and teachings in their group. I accepted the offer and was given these rules to agree by:
“Helpers and interns are here to build their confidence and competence and are welcome to share knowledge and education and their personal subjects but will not be participating in private messages for our group members
This is to protect our members and to retain their confidence in our professional experience.”
Basically it says: “No private readings for any group members outside of the group”
And I understand that… to a degree.
Because I have done private readings for members outside of the group …before I was offered to be a helper.
One of the readings was a way to show my gratitude for them gifting me a reading in the group.
Another one was for the same from one of the members gifting me something outside of the group.
Neither were paid readings. The only time I charged for one was when I told one of them that I’m getting a card deck today and they asked how much for a reading and I said they can just buy the card deck for me. This was before the offer to join the group as a helper but it was after I’ve helped out in the group. I’ve been helping in the group for a while here and there, but not at this level. And I was just given the rules today.
So, I don’t know whether to let the group admin know about the readings I have done in the past. Like if that’s a full disclosure thing or if it even matters because it was before the rules were given to me. (And 2 others who are helping out too)
And does it also apply to any friends I know from outside the group and invite them in the group?
Because I understand conflict of interest and integrity of clientele.
This group is a business. I do have my own business and I would never take from their business to grown my own.
It just seems to get messy, atleast in my processing of these rules.
I’m sitting with it before I respond in the group about the questions I have.
Does that make sense?
