I think I have lost my self confidence . I am pretty sure I have. I am having a lot of anxiety because of it. It’s inside and out. Has anything worked for you if you lost self confidence and gained it back?

Has there been any change in your life that would lead to loss of confidence?

I don't have experience with it to share, but I do have empathy for what you are experiencing. I do think that this may be a "fake it until you make it" situation. The more you tell yourself you have confidence, the better. Self talk can be powerful. Practice being self-confident in small situations over and over until you start tackling bigger situations. Give yourself a pep talk in your mirror each morning. Practice makes habit.

When you go out, to work or where ever. Put on an outfit that you know looks good. It does make a difference.
Wishing you the best!
Also take the suggestion to 'fake'... Others don't know your insides, show them your best..

How is that manifesting itself?

That is a really informative link with lots of good information. I think many of us can benefit from some of the tips there. Thank you for posting it. silverdaisy, I’m sorry you are facing this. Has this been coming on gradually or is there one event that was the impetus for having your confidence shaken so badly?

Nothing significant has happened to cause this. It’s more like a build up over time.
The Mayo link has good info.
I do try the fake it till you make it…I call it brainwashing myself.
I don’t think I have any outfits I feel really confident in.

I was reading about hypnosis tempted to try it. Why not? Nothing to lose I don't know what age you are but anxiety (do you consider you have that?) is a peri/menopause symptom so that might be something to consider.

I was reading about hypnosis tempted to try it. I recently lost my confidence too. I am trying hypnosis on line through Happyo. I am currently taking Decoding Procrastination Mind Set. I am also word dumping....typing out what pisses me off then deleting. It's helping me let go of some past hurt. Happyo

I'm still climbing out of a really damaging job experience and it destroyed my confidence. It's taken a lot of work for me to get back to where I was before and I'm still not there but I'm feeling like I'm winning the battle right now.
For me, I started focusing on things I knew I was really good at. I love organizing so I spent a few weeks cleaning out and organizing all our closets and pantry at home. It's silly but it gave me purpose and looked so good when I was done. I dusted off my camera and started taking photos again. I made meals and desserts that always get rave reviews. I mowed the lawn! Moving the lawn always gives me a sense of empowerment.
I'm sorry you are struggling right now.

silverdaisy....Sorry you're going through this. Have you considered therapy and/or support groups?
