StephDRebel I just heard you on NPR (in CA) being interviewed at the restaurant in Springfield that you stopped at on your road trip. I was in the car with my 13 year old and I started freaking out because I was so excited. She looked at me like I was crazy when I tried to explain how I "knew" you. You are incredible!

we need a new national campaign.. "we are all immigrants!!!" and have people say where their family come from if they know.. too many think immigrants equal bad.

That was a good interview with all of them. I feel so bad for that community. As is often the case when you see the worst from some people you see the best in others. Good for Steph for being willing to go on record saying she supports the good people of Springfield.

There were some suspicious cars circling the parking lot of the haitian restaurant yesterday but there was armed security at the store next door and dh and some other veterans kept watch while we worked through the line. I didn't know what we were driving into but we were prepped to march against the proud boys of they were marching, to feed people if they needed it and fortunately we ended up just giving a couple of dirty looks, lots of hugs and tears and laughs and conversation and the food was exceptional! I love that motto so much, it truly could be any of us at any time that needs help! |

She has family in Ohio .. Yes! We had dinner with my daddy and my youngest last night. We drove in from omaha because we had a few days off and are making a big circle to hug the family in Ohio, Maryland, and VA before rounding back to Nebraska again. Trump says he's going to Springfield next week, if he really does I might pit stop on the way back through to boo him. 👎 😵😂 |

Come on StephDRebel! You couldn't give us a heads up on this! How very cool. This was definitely not planned. We decided an hour before we left home to just go and I met the guy in line. He was in cargo shorts and flip-flops and just recording on his iPhone. He said he was from NPR but I thought he was for a local spot or something. It was out less than a couple hours after we were in line. There was another interviewer that said he has a smaller platform that did portraits and interviewed us that I haven't seen yet. It'll be under Forest Whitaker and Stephanie Whitaker. he will also be on some dudes YouTube channel that is doing a tour through the rust belt collecting stories and conversations. They did a video interview for like 20 mins so I'm hoping we can find them to see how they turn out! |
